Don't worry, so is PVE, such a joy when you're in Sanctum doing a 15m fight and everybody freezes/lags for 10s when the boss has 23% hp left.

Wow 10s lag! How cute! :D Longest lag in Cyrodiil I participated was ~15min. And lags aren't rare occasions, it's a regular thing!

yeah we had a nice battle a few days ago where 2 alliances gave a massive aoe concert for 10 minutes at a resource without anyone dying.

I had at least 5 fights just last night like this. Not to mention the whole realm LAG that meant even outside of large conflicts people couldn't be damaged.

Maybe if you hadn't 150 people in a zerg train spaming Impulse @ the same location, you would have less lags and PVP would actually be enjoyable.

Or just cant find solution for that.

They need to start by getting rid of the botting fix they implemented in July, the fps issues started after that.

Sadly, PVP was a big draw for many people, but the current state has eroded many players faith in the game and they have left. You only have to look at the current population levels to see thats true.

Thank you all very much for the replies and detailed information. It's helped immensely, and we're getting closer to pinpointing the cause of the lag and unresponsiveness in Cyrodiil that many of you have reported.

After further investigation, and as some of you surmised, we now believe this is an issue with client-to-server communication responsiveness during high volume combat situations. We would love more feedback on what specific abilities/actions stop working when this happens, and which continue working. For example, does chat still work? Mounting? Weapon swapping? Projectiles? Self-target abilities? Any details you can provide will help us better track down this specific issue and make improvements.

may be if more of us added proper feedback, on the issues we are all facing, on this Thread we may see some advancement on fixes.

Of course, that's what a Beta is for.

I do agree it was a big draw for a lot of us. I am not going to spend my time in some stop motion version of Skyrim, though.

If I had ever seen a GM standing there in the keep during events such as last night in Faregyl on Thorn NA then I would have reason to think that they actually care about conditions in PVP. Unfortunately I have never even seen a report by another player about this happening.

Also I find it disingenuous of ZOS to come on here and ask for data from players. It's their product, their creation, and their game. They know what the problems and conditions are. (If they really don't then the problems are bigger than any of us imagine.)

I believe that we need to reconcile ourselves to the idea that conditions in Cyrodil are not going to change and base our future actions on that idea.

    This. 100%.

Fight hard undermanned for 29 days. To have it end like this? EP lagging through a closed inner keep to take DC's 2nd scroll. Running unable to be touched. I'm sure it's enough to make some walk away.

The only reason this scroll stayed in this keep to begin with was because of the lag. When you have 50 DC and 50 EP converge on Faregyl Castle creating multiple holes in the wall, the scroll is going to be taken. The only reason it wasn't was because of the lag- no one could attack or siege.

It doesn't bother me at all that Dragon Leap was used to steal the scroll.

Don't blame players for buggy and laggy PvP. Trains are best tactics and abandon attack/defense of keep or resource simply because another train arrived is simply stupid.

Some likes to gank, some small scale PvP and some like to fight in big groups but because of lag no one can enjoy game. And it's not players fault that usage skills make lag. Only ones to blame are ZoS.

Maybe if you really understood how the AvA mechanics work, you would refrain from posting silly comments.

To take keeps or scrolls you need to gather a lot of players in a tight spot. Either to grab the scroll or to make the flags flip. As such, in siege situations players will always bunch up and cast AoEs, it's more than inevitable, it's practically required.

If you do the above the server will lag. Which has got nothing to do with players but with the way the game was designed and the way the servers perform.

You all should calm down. This is the first time a MMO has had PvP with multiple players on screen.

It is not as if there is 10+ years of good and bad examples to draw from. Maybe if some other MMOs had been created we would have something to compare to, but no one has.

Also, there is no lag in PvP anyway. It is an enforced break so you will vent your emotions on your keyboard or verbally against your monitor, rather than mistakenly causing harm to the players who accidentally joined the wrong alliance and only want to be friends.

It could also be bullet-time, or arrow-time in this case.
Gunerm Cleric ~ Dragon Knight, Tank ~ vr14
Cruleg Nimec ~ Dragon Knight, DPS ~ vr14
    Gunem Cleric ~ Templar, Heals ~ vr3
    Cleric Gunem ~ Sorcerer, TBD ~ vr1
    Daggerfall Covenant (only) ~ NA
Guts n Glory & Guts n Glory EOC ~ Guildmaster ~ GnG ~ MMO Dark Guild
Daggerfall Cosa Nostra ~ Founder ~ DCN ~ DC guild leaders only (no cross faction PvP guilds)

Most Zerg trains are 20 ish people, and we are getting lag before any combat even starts!
We know when another group is near because the latency goes up by hundreds.
The Lag in PVP no longer has anything to do with combat, more than a few people in one area then expect lag.
Games a joke now, no real point playing PVP anymore.

ZOS really needs to get a PvP-centric update. PvP is arguably the main part of ESO and it shouldn't be neglected like this. Also ZOS seriously needs to re-evaluate its rather incompetent QA team.
The big fiasco in the last couple of weeks with patches was absolutely unacceptable, and every single update released so far has contained game-breaking bugs and issues. It's time ZOS did something about it, either giving them a good warning or just redoing the team altogether.
