Except ZOS have said repeatedly, forever, that they EXPECT players to use add-ons to make up for the many and grotesque deficiencies in the game's out-of-the-box UI.

Has no one ever played wow??? Exact same thing with addons, I was in a top25 US raid guild and there were addons that were MANDATORY, and most people had a minimum of 20 add ons installed. Guess what, every patch, some of them broke, unless the add on developers was on top of it and updating it immediately.

I love how people post this *** like its a new issue to MMOs, its not. Its the good and the bad with add ons.

Gross exaggerations never make for good arguments.

I seriously doubt most players have more than 10. As for MANDATORY, you can play the game with NO ADDONS perfectly well, even RAIDS now there's a built-in threat meter which is more than adequate for most purposes.

Sure the top guild do use a large number, but even there SKILL >>>>> ADDONS, only the less skillful need a bucket-load of add-ons as a crutch .. a LOT of 'top 25 guild' members got kicked when Blizzard belatedly broke DeCursisve for good.

Exaggeration? I don't think so, almost no one used the basic UI, the was a reason any top end raid guild asked you to post a screen shot of your UI in action, a lot of people in the guild were using 30+ addons. Go look at videos of kills from any top guild, almost no one uses the basic ui. And the threat meter? That wasn't even added in till around cats, the same time the made it so mind numbingly easy to tank you only needed it in random pugs, and it STILL was inferior to the add on threat meters.
