    Another completely outlandish idea.

Only let shield users block as currently implemented.

    ^ No.

While I do condone only shield users getting the full percentage of block from blocking I feel that block casting as currently implemented should be completely erased.

So you'd actually have to time the BLOCK right for it to be effective.

Timed blocks are difficult to implement in MMO due to the increased latency. MMO makes all kinds of things difficult, which is why they have auto-targeting (even though they hide it well in ESO).

I don't think you should be able to block while casting. If you do the animation for one, you shouldn't be able to the other at the same time.

I do understand why they allow 360 blocking, but it doesn't seem right to me. If someone stabs you in the back, you can't block that. I don't think it should be cut down to 180 though. With peripheral vision a person would easily be able to block attacks coming from their sides and slightly behind them. I think there should be a narrow window, directly behind the player that cannot be blocked. It would take skill to hit it, and with skill the player could easily protect it by moving about, backing against walls, backing against other players, etc. You know, they way an actual person might protect themselves.

You can't be that pedantic with real-life physics in these games.

Because I can argue that a splash AoE should be unblockable, because the fire/whatever can wrap around you and hit you from behind.

I want Skyrim's Block Charging ability so I can shield charge through crowds like the Juggernaut, and send them flying to and fro like ragdolls. This would make me happy.

My character is not strong, but very agile. I want to be able to run around a blocking player and stab him in the back! 360 blocking doesn't make sense; if you want to guard you back, you should use some sort of armor spell like immovable or something similar to ironflesh.

Also, blocking with a shield should be more effective than blocking with a weapon.

And, ofcourse, if you block you shouldn't be able to attack. If so, then let's just cut off animations entirely. If everyone blocks allt the time, where's the challenge? In that way it comes down to who has the most stamina, instead of skill! It should be like a dance, block-attack-block-attack and so on. In that way it makes sense to have ranged weapons and staying out of close combat, or having a shield and act tanky.

If this would be up to ZOS, people would be a ble to Block a Cancer.

Block casting absolutely needs to go. Anything that promotes build diversity. I block cast like the rest of the game, it turn a fight into resource management, and not player skill.

I have played a few mmos that had timed blocking a long side directional blocking. It is not hard for those free to play games to implement and do it without any lag in their pvp systems. So to say it is difficult or will cause more lag is just absurd.

If done right ZoS could handle it. If the koreans can do it in their f2p games so can a big company like ZoS. There honestly is no excuse other than being lazy :P

Yeah. I'm sorry TESO messed it up initially so everything is easy for you to kill. So now you're used to your block-bot deathmachine and someone's talking about messing it up for you. And now you might have to work for it.

    How sad. :'(
