While I do condone only shield users getting the full percentage of block from blocking I feel that block casting as currently implemented should be completely erased.So you'd actually have to time the BLOCK right for it to be effective.

I do understand why they allow 360 blocking, but it doesn't seem right to me. If someone stabs you in the back, you can't block that. I don't think it should be cut down to 180 though. With peripheral vision a person would easily be able to block attacks coming from their sides and slightly behind them. I think there should be a narrow window, directly behind the player that cannot be blocked. It would take skill to hit it, and with skill the player could easily protect it by moving about, backing against walls, backing against other players, etc. You know, they way an actual person might protect themselves.

Timed blocks are difficult to implement in MMO due to the increased latency. MMO makes all kinds of things difficult, which is why they have auto-targeting (even though they hide it well in ESO).
