Equipment choices, glyph choices, trait choices, and skill choices can overcome or negate any racial issues.

Simply not true. The fact that people have clicked agree to your post just makes me head slap even more.

They either need to balance the racials (it's even worse now the caps have been raised) or allow people to change their race. Things like 200 magicka is insane.
The immersion/RP crowd would go ape**** if such an option were allowed.

    ...?

It's not like this would be the first game to offer it, I can't even care about it, but this wouldn't be the first MMO to allow it.

I just have to say, after spending the last three weeks in a magicka/stam resto/2h hybrid taking advantage of khajit passives to use Uppercut from stealth and also incorporating crit charge + executioner and now switching back to my magicka focused resto/1h&s, holy crap is pure magicka focused build better. It was fun sneaking up on fools and getting nice sneak attacks and it was even more fun appearing as a standard build caster Sorc only to swap weapons when they're low and crit charge + executioner them down. Unfortunately, I am way more effective focusing entirely on magicka and again I am back to a build that takes absolutely zero use of my racial passives. Please ZOS! This is the most important problem facing the game and you must appease me or suffer the consequences!

You have 8 character slots, use one of them to fix this problem yourself.

But... I've already got 8 characters... and I don't want to nuke any of them... :\

That said, I'd be more interested in class respecs than race ones.

+1 , lets hope they add this option down the line.

Would also be handy to get the class change.

I am totally and completely against class change option by the way. Classes are defining aspects of your character and there are only four classes. Races are a little bit of added flavor (visual and 3 passive) and there are 10 options.

To me classes are nothing but a system that doesnt belong in a TES game to begin with.

And no people , doesnt even try giving the usual crap about how TES games got classes , they are nothing like ESO classes , picking a class shouldnt lock you out other skills.

Replayability is the answer here though. Without classes or with class changes there is no reason to ever play through the content again. I know someone out there is thinking I'm a hypocrite because technically re-rolling another Sorc for me with a different race is also adding replayability, but doing it all again for 3 passives is too much work. I'd much rather ZOS take my money now.

If this was true people wouldnt replay skyrim/oblivion/morrowind over and over even without mods (while i admit the people that got to 5k hours probably added things :P).

There is a difference here , people that WANT to replay the content to see it again... and people that are FORCED to replay the content because want to play a different class.

Char creation should mean something, but allowing people to buy with real money* for race change, it just takes away why we need to make alts and make the char creation meean loss. IMHO, I have ZOS NEVER EVER do this **** idea that the OP has.

If a player want to play another race, make an ALT also it goes against the reason why we are paying a sub fee in the 1st place.

(*Why we pay a sub fee is another topic that we could get into why this is a bad idea)

You are really advocating that people should make alts of the same class to try out the different races? SMH

What I want is not race change but body feature changes. Realistically, one's body changes throughout life, muscle is gained and lost, same with fat, etc. I don't want skin/fur color changes just body features, hairstyles, adornments, etc.

Yes, so what is your point? It might be the same class, but the sub class can vary very differently -- magic vs melee based. Orcs can be good tanks dragon knights with their heavy armor bonus while an Altmer can be better if one want to use a destro staff and dragon knight tank.

That is why I am doing (in a way): I have a Khajiit, but with very different classes. I have 8 char slots and I am afraid to use them. :)

You are comparing rolling multiple Khajit with different classes to rolling multiple of the same class with different races? Come on ..... how can you compare 18 active skills and 12 passives to a grand total of 3 passives??

I can see maybe if skill points were limited but my Sorc has enough skill points to feat any way I want without respecs. I have full light armor, full medium, over half heavy, everything I need from all class skills, destruction staff, resto, 1h&s, 2h, dual wield, vampire, mage/fighter/undaunted, and I have three crafting skills maxed out. There is absolutely ZERO reason to re-roll the same class besides three passives so for me personally, I will never consider having multiple races of the same class just for replayability and having different focuses.

I've never seen any convincing argument as to why race change is pay to win.

Chasing the Build Flavor of the Month.

Besides, if they offer this, then how long will it be before they just let people buy a VR14 Template with 150 skill points for $50? Or 200 points for $75? They already offer templates on the PTS server so this can easily be done in the game.

Class and Race, and quite frankly Mundus Stones*, should be set at Character Creation and is fixed for the life of the character. Otherwise, Character creation is trivialized. Why even spend anytime on it? Why even try to plan out a build? Just change it each month as one becomes the more favored way until they change the balance again.

*Mundus Stones are supposed to be the Sign you were born under and last I checked changing birthdays is impossible. I played Skyrim for about 3 months until I realized I could change the stone on my character. I never did, but it surprised me it was in the game.

As you say, Race does not mean that much in the big picture unless one hard core min / max'er. Thus, there is no reason to lessen the value of a race and class if one can change it at will. Races, Classes, and faction chooses that are made during char creation should mean something and not be cheapen by allow any above to be changed at will with any type of coin (ingame or real money)

If one is a hard core min /max'er, can make alts to different races with the same class. They should not ruin races, classes or faction for the rest of the player based.

I so VERY VERY STRONGLY DISAGREE with the OP's POV. A player should never pay real money for a race and / or class change. Race and / or Class changes should NOT be allow at any time. That is what alts are for!

Race matters in the big picture. I don't see why you would be against race change. More money for your favorite developer and you don't notice a thing. Please don't lump race and class changes together.

You wrote earlier that racial bonuses are minor and are "negated" by equipment. Therefore, you've already admitted that racial bonuses do not amount to a substantial advantage that is characteristic of pay-to-win. You can't have it both ways lol.
