No. This may be true for single player, rp heavy games, but this is a mainstream mmo and those always favor mechanics over rp.

I should have known better when one of the RP hubs has Twilight-twink vampire RP right out in public.

@naatokb14_ESO , to be fair, you are not the only one that feels this way. I have not yet passed on the gift because I intend for it to mean something. It meant something when it was given to me, and it was not a choice I took lightly, either way.
Add the run-around-with-a-bow method of 'completing' the quest, and it loses meaning further.
Add the individuals that not only rent out their gift once a week, but add the individuals that do not care at all to whom they rent it to.
There was a level 8 in zone that had shelled out thousands of gold receiving no information as to what he would have to face in 7 days to complete the 'transaction.' I spoke with him at length, noting the benefits of completing the quest the way it was intended ~ something simply not possible at his level. Told him it will be worth more to him when earned properly.
I finally made a deal with him, reimbursing his gold with agreement that when he was at level, I would turn him for free.
The sad truth is, no matter how we, and others like us, may feel about it, it's so far gone at this point that it is beyond return.
So, as I view it, there are several vampires out there, yes. There are far more slightly more intelligent bloodfiends.
It's a shame, but thank you for also holding the gift as something more than a handful of passives and something to pass the time.
