Typically, a roleplayer will be a more story oriented person.

The various stories around the world are a big part of the gameplay experience and can also provide some of the more entertaining points in the game. You can dig pretty deep into ESO and find a ton of stories, both written and unwritten. While I expect that all of these have been found, I doubt that very many people have found all of them.

Very few other games I have played do this like TES games, single or multiplayer. Most of these other games are centered around the tasks they expect the player to perform. The world outside of this scope is generic backdrop, if there is a world outside of the scope.

Exciting moments are a relative term. If you are an adrenalin junkie and have to have a constant stream of encounters where the foes are vanquished just as you drop to 1 heath, then I expect ESO is not your game.

I would not say that ESO is a high adrenalin game but I would not say that there are no exciting moments.

Wife and I have been playing since early release, and we've no character above Level 40 yet. So we are taking our time, playing a few hours a week.

Really hope they fix the grouped phasing issues. Bought the game to enjoy cooperative play, and because of various phasing issues while grouped (and forced solo quests) we can't do so throughout the entirety of the game.

I haven't been able to play in over a month. I think I'll restart. At my rate of play per day it will take a year or more to reach V14. By then TESO will have raised the cap to V20. I will be here for a while.

I was going to renew my sub. But after experiencing all 1.4 has to offer in just 3 day's, I definitely wont be.

I started this game with 9 RL friends including myself. At this point there's only myself and one other still playing.
My PvP guild Master just quit Due to Lag/Force Closes and disconnects In Cryodiil, taking about 1/3 of the guild with him.
Every Update brings the same old *** - completely catered to Dress and Stick uses and month old, game-breaking bugs go completely ignored.
This is just the tip of the ice-burg. I could go on and on, but i can't be bothered and no one will read it anyways. =)

PvP'ers are Bored. End game PVE'ers are bored. I am bored.
There's a whole lot of boredism going around. At least in my time zone. =)

True. The lore, stories, and spoken dialog are the best part of the game. They're mature content made for us patient adult people.

Some things I would find exciting:
    - Fear of unknown. For example hearing odd sounds and not knowing what is behind a corner, or being in darkness where you can't see well.
    - Fear of death. Opponents that are powerful enough that you respect them.
    - Exploration: Not knowing what's behind a hill. Discovering exciting items, architecture etc.

Unfortunately no-one of these exciting things are in this game.
    - You never find anything surprising. Every single object you can pick up is useful and not dangerous so you just autoloot everything with zero brain use. There's no junk (except few fishing items) or trapped/cursed items.
    - In every single place you can just run forward with full speed without fear of anything, enemies or traps. A single enemy NPC is as dangerous as a fly and can hit you for one full minute without you doing anything without you dying. When a professional acting assassin enemy NPC does an "aerial frontflip" over my character it just makes me laugh.
    - To make exploration a little more exciting I have turned off compass to not know where undiscovered locations are. But there's nothing interesting to find...architecture or items. I just yawn when I open a treasure chest or find a "new" copy/pasted dungeon.

I'll like the game for now, but I was more curious of what it would be.. but I'm thinking not to renew my sub.

For example I've always liked Warcraft in the very beginning, until it went online, then you need to pay monthly and not always able to use your playtime. The cost is excluding many people for playing this game.
Also you don't have always time as you need to work much or other reasons, so you miss a lot of hours for what you've paid for.

You pay for a game PLUS all the monthly fees, getting costly after a time.

I've played lots of hours ESO, but PvP is boring after x hours.. only going for these towers. I'd like more to use PvE

In any case I'm looking forward to the new sequal for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

I told my guild the secound they start adding mmoie things like guar mounts and tiger mounts I would be out, and loe and behold they are adding senche mounts, Im sorry but this is sollie for mmorpg players, and one of the many things that ruin it for us people from the sp games, just because it has a lore name does not make it lore friendly, and then there is the gross overuse of magic compared to the other es games, and we'll its ruined, I handed over my guild to my second in command and went back to mortal online, and am loving it, I just refuse to support a game that just blatantly disregards its source material just to appeal to a particular audience... to bad, Ive played and beaten all es games, redguard and battlespire included, and I will not support the continued perversion of my favorite series...

Yeah, I got over that. The Elder Scrolls Online is not part of the TES universe or lore. It shares common roots, but it exists in a separate plane all to itself.

I think, in part, the TES people want it that way because it prevents ESO from writing the next TES game.

The only other alternative is the equivalent of "Dallas" season nine, which was revealed to be a dream. In the ESO world, it is a magical reset to the way things will be in Arena and beyond.

I have ten days left on my canceled sub. I've decided not to renew at this time, for these reasons:
    1. they introduce new stuff without fixing important stuff that's been broken for a long time
    2. when they introduce new stuff it invariably breaks existing stuff
    3. they don't hot-patch much, which they should do rather than making us wait six weeks at a time to combine fixes with new content.
    4. they've broken the high-end graphics last patch bad enough that I can't get them to reliably load on my machine (which is a high-end machine) so I'm playing a game I used to love visually for its detail and it looks like crud. That was the final straw.
I'll check in on the game in a few months, probably, in hopes they've gotten their act together a little better.

yeah, they've done a few hotfixes recently, which is an uncharacteristic series and which I welcome.
    • But those hotfixes have cumulatively addressed fewer problems than even the latest update created. And,
      • They have not been hotfixing at a rate to get ahead of the problems they're creating.

What I'm saying they should do, is have a habit or policy of doing hotfixes frequently and responsively, which would mean doing a lot of hotfixes for awhile. There are a ton of little-to-big game issues to fix.

Also, I suggested they roll out new content just like hotfixes are rolled out: roll out stuff when you have it ready (well, their version of ready) rather than bundle it up. The reason to do that is so that if your new content breaks something it is far easier to pinpoint the cause of the break: you've just released a single-or-few-items content update, so you only have to look at the single or few items to know what caused the breakage.

Agreed, my friend quit out of frustration because she couldn't beat the story quests which are forced solo content and also being separated all the time.

I disagree with forced solo content in MMOs, that's why we have single player games. If people want to help their friends or just people in general they should be allowed too regardless if it's a story quest or not or if you completed it. It should be optional.

Basically like SWTOR does, though I would rather have both people get credit rather than just the one you're helping or the leader of the phase. WoW does it right, as well as LOTRO. I would rather have it like those two games.

I don't see this changing either since I noticed Zenimax started putting "Solo" on the loading screens for dungeons...I guess they think forced solo content in MMOs is a good thing and shouldn't be optional, hey maybe they're right and I'm the one that's wrong but it doesn't make sense to me to have forced solo content regardless of what kind of content it is in an MMO, everything should be optional.

I expect people to tell me it's not forced and you can just skip it. "rolls eyes"

I'm going to continue playing, but as the new MMO's start appearing, I'm mostly going to jump ship. So far I experienced over 100 bugs, weird game decisions, broken logic, etc., that have not been or may never be fixed (do to how the game is structured.); For example, how is it that a Flame staff can do damage to a Flame Atronach? You should have to change to a different weapon type like a Frost or shock staff.

There is more to the game then just pretty graphics, music, and sound effects, and ESO has offered nothing new to the MMO genre. In fact many of the design decisions are a step backward from what many experienced MMO gamers were expecting.

With rare exceptions, most of the combat or puzzles in the game are not challenging. The one repeating comment that I hear is how the combat is repetitive, and boring. You really don't have to change your strategy much to play through the game in PVE. I rarely play PVP, so I can't really criticize it in this context.

As the new MMO WOW killers come out later this year, the only people that mostly likely will stay are the die hard Elder Scrolls lore junkies.

:D I'm probably one of the 'Die Hard ES lore junkies' and will be staying. Housing would be good though. I'm really loving this, my first MMO. Slowly learning how things work, and just as in Morrowind, finding it easier to keep my NB alive as her skills improve. Not sure what it will be like at Vet level, but at lvl 49 I'm able to solo same level quests solo fairly successfully.

Why would i leave this game i mean ESO is still "grow up" and i think if people gave ESO a chance this game will become one off better on market.

I know ESO still have problem but then again which game did not have problem at there start i reminder AoC it was more or less beta game until there 1st expansion come out and that was basic play beta for 2 year.

So i'm not leave just yet :)

I think it's got the potential to be very good, but they're doing some very poor development stuff right now, with all the game mechanics they keep breaking. They're breaking a LOT of stuff.
So I'll just quit playing this for awhile until they start doing a LOT better at delivering their content.

still subbed but it goes out Oct. 8th , only thing i`m here for is the AvA while it`s not bad , they didn`t do anything about the Emp trading, and Ava and game as a whole needs a lot of work still . granted its only 5 months old but Warhammer was better then this at launch as far as RvR went and alt means of lvling up etc .

Yeah Warhammer was so much better at launch with PvP. I mean that awesome PvP Instances, where the winning Team always camped the loser team at their spawn was sooo awesome.

Not to forget that awesome open world PvP, where two zergs avoided each other to take empty keeps, cause that brought you the most Points overall.

Don't forget how awesome it was when the servers crashed every time you faction tried to take the capitol city during the 3 first months. I really loved that part of the game. First you had 5 hours of super lag and then if you manage to play though it the server crashed the second you killed the first boss in the keep. Was super awesome!

I still got 2months or so, but I notice I dont do much anymore except accepting hireling mails, trying to PvP a bit (but with the constant crashes and lagg, + the Q times, its hard to love it) and well PvE there isn't anything to do (except the craglorn map but thats an utter failure, being forced into pug groups for everything you want to do only causes fustration and wasted time, no fun is had, so I'm done with that BS)
so I dont know, I really love TES series, but lack of end game, and broken pvp is forcing me to stop, bought BF4 yesterday and starded playing that again
