Cursor Bug After Opening Map

Whenever I open my map, I can no longer turn my character when I close my map because my cursor doesn't come back. Happens 100% of the time....

EDIT: Happens if opening and closing map while moving... bug is back from beta..

Are you playing in Windowed Fullscreen?

I do, with a second monitor active, and sometimes when using UI elements such as menus and maps my cursor will go beyond the edge of the game screen. I need to move it back onto the game and click once on the game screen and then I regain control.

Btw I am not saying this is definitely the cause here, just that it is something I have never seen happen outside of those circumstances.

yes I am playing in windowed fullscreen. and no, the cursor is on the screen, it just stays an arrow, not the cursor that lets you spin your character, it forces me to hit the period button. very annoying

Do you happen to be using any add-ons for the game? If so, try disabling them and see if it helps. Add-ons do have the ability to affect various parts of the UI, and this is one issue that we've seen come up in the past.

If disabling add-ons doesn't fix this, please let us know.

Hey there @Kevinmon,

Does this issue continue to happen after using /reloadui once it starts happening? If so, you'll need to run a repair on your client in order to alleviate the issue.

To run a repair, close the game and open the ESO launcher. Above the news section, there is a button for Game Options. Click on this, and select Repair from the drop down. Once that has completed, try the game again and let us know if the cursor works correctly.

Hello Gary,

reloadui and repair did not fix my issue. I played Cyrodiil last night and still got this bug.

Hey Gary, do you have any update on this issue?

Reloadui and mashing the escape key, which fixes some other Cyrodiil bugs like my primary skill bar not working, does not fix this issue.

It normally happens after playing for maybe an hour or so.

To replicate, I open the map and then when I close it, my cursor is still in "Period button mode" where I can't rotate or move with WASD keys.

Yup, got this bug last night. Seems to happen to me less often that it used to though.

This has, rarely, happened to me as well.

I think ESC fixed it.

Nope, period key does not fix it, it just comes back again the next time I open my map.

I REALLY HOPE THIS BUG IS FIXED IN UPDATE 5!

I too experience this bug - daily! Played for 3 hours in Cyro with it today, relogged, was fine for 5 minutes... Then got hit with it again.

- Nothing fixes it but a total exit and relog into game. None of the usual "fixer" keys work with this bug.

I have been having this happen EVERY DAY for at least 2 months. I even unbound my "." cursor key hoping that would help. (It did not)

Happens in PvP and PvE. I play in fullscreen mode - but have tested and it happens on all the screen modes.

Bug is initialized upon exiting map. Cursor "unlocks" and no longer appears on the screen. The only way i can get cursor control again is pressing w, a, s or d. (If i am moving while map viewing, this means I come to full stop, press and release a movement key quickly and then I can resume action)

Once bug is activated, all actions but for movement and skills require me to "log" the cursor again. (Entering text into chat, inventory bag, skill page, char screen, mail, etc.) Once exiting these screens, there is no cursor.

It is highly frustrating and does not appear to be widespread. Which makes it even more frustrating when it happens to me daily

Same here - after toggling the map on and off, sometimes the game remains in 'cursor mode'. Cursor only disappears after pressing 'A' or 'D' (strafe left/right), but only by themselves. For example pressing A while holding W (strafe key while moving forward) does not cause mouse cursor to disappear. I have to stop moving, hit strafe, then i can turn with the mouse again - until i toggle map on-off again, then perma cursor is back.

Same issue here. It can be solved with relog, until it happens again. Found out that "S" key (move backward) and not strafing will bring crosshair back every time, but only until you open map again.

I had some success preventing this by not opening map while holding down any movement keys(like the OP suggests). If i need to open map while riding on horse for example and i do not want to stop, i use the autorun key, then open map. So far so good - bug hasn't shown itself.

What causes the problem is using "Buy Multiple" at vendors. See this thread above please!

The issue has been found! Please have your company's developers fix this issue ASAP!
