Would you play on a Friendly Fire PvP server?

I can't be the only person that came from another game where friendly fire was enabled. It adds a lot more depth and strategy to combat than the stun, aoe, stun, aoe, rinse and repeat style of large scale battle we have going on right now.

Would definitely take some of the AOE out of the equation. I'd have a blast with that.

Of course, same team griefing would be at an all time high, too. And spies. And sabotage.

    Bring it!
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

The only PvP server I'd play on is a deserted one.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

It would prevent zerg balls running through eachother spamming AOEs, so it would be nice. However, I can see this turning into all kinds of griefing and also the soflock system resulting in someone using an ability on their friend when they didn't intend to and were pointing their reticle towards an enemy. I would play on it only if AOEs and no other ability had friendly fire enabled, and if killing players in your faction came with SEVERE consequences (hour long 50% debuffs for a kill outside of combat) to prevent griefing.

Friendly fire? Please, I get confused enough with all of the people on screen as is. If I attacked anyone it would be highly likely that it was my own team mate. I mean, its not even funny. I look at the people at my keep and I can't help but think they look like one of the other man races from DC. Only khajiits and argonians would be exceptions.

At least with the current PvP I have a better idea of whos who.

While I would in fact be interested in such a ruleset, the most likely result would be mass killing of "allies" around spawnpoints. If you could think of a way to prevent this then sure.

Griefing is usually policed by the players, ive never pvp'd in an MMO that didn't have friendly fire (Darkfall, Fallen Earth). How it has always been dealt with is after about a few days of someone purposefully overstepping their bounds the entire faction would just kill them on sight anyway. It wouldnt take long for the word to get around, also just set the minimum level to play at VR ranks and it wouldn't be worth it to make a spy toon just to grief forthe night or so until you are found out.

IMO add friendly fire, remove all stuns (roots and snares are fine), make non aoe heals targetable and that's the only server I would play on.

I would love to try it. At they very least, it would put an end to the Impulse Zerg train. And that would be a major advance.

If you killed a 'friend' and lost points due to it, then maybe, but friendly fire normally = griefing

    *EDIT*
On second thought, nah. Just make it VR only, with no guesting allowed and let the players handle the rest.

That would be welcome addition of realism to PVP.

And open world PVP added to that so we can hunt down and kill the betrayers, Yay that be fun.. Like jumping gate to gate chasing enemy in EVE!

Only real punishment we need to griefers and such are rewards to those who catch and bring them to justice (Hack&Slash).

Having already played dungeons in Cyrodiil with members of different factions at the same time (it was a guild event), believe me when I say that the game is really not fun that way. It feels really gimped.

Unless the rules are changed and single target abilities are free from target stealing from allies, I don't see how it can be done.

PVP has enough issues without throwing this into the mix.

Zerg facerolls are already an issue, adding friendly fire will make things even more frustrating. And if PVP needs anything it's more frustration.

Yes, when you have that one or few guys on your server you would want to kill. Not to mention the amount of trolling that would happen for killing guys of your faction during a scroll run!

That way all AoE will be thrown out of the window, including the zerg balls......
