OP, are you sure your wife wouldn't be interested in pvp? I realize you don't want to see her disappointed, but dying to a player isn't the end of the world. It's such a big part of the game. Even if you just go to cyrodiil and quest, the risk of dying is much more exciting than the pve zones.

If you aren't a PVP'er, you have to get in the right mindset to do it.

OP, if you both haven't made the shard run, did the solo dungeons and quests in Cyrodiil, you might want to suggest it to her. There are also a few lore books if you enjoy collecting them.

Starting to salivate for Witcher 3, but I see these games as breaks from ESO, not as replacements. [/quote] Same here.

yea the shard runs were actually my first introduction to pvp, though I always intended to pursue it. I died a few times to people, went back and killed them for it.

I advise doing it on the Chillrend campaign. Not the most active, but active enough that it's a risk.

LOTS of shards and lorebooks, and daily repeatable quests.

Get into a guild that is organized for pvp, its incredibly fun this way. I tried pvp a few times early on in the game with a disorganized zerg of pubbies...just wasn't very fun (though it looked epic)

When your in voice coms and rolling with an organized group of people you really get to see the inner workings behind how those zergs of pubbies work too...really fun to initiate what turns out to be a massive battle because the group you were in decided to start it.

Never got the stigma pvp has in themepark games either...I mean you are not losing anything at all when you die in pvp in games like this...just a different style of content that's more action based I guess.

exactly, the only downside is running back, though I admit sometimes cyrodiil feels like a horse simulator.

I'm not sure people new to pvp should immediately hunt out a pvp guild though, it might be best to roll with the crowd for some sieges and see how they like it first.

All I'm saying is, there are always people willing to do quests. I've never had an issue, especially being in 5 active guilds. Plus, there were only 2 questlines I was not able to do with 2 people, including myself. I do realize there is a bit of content lacking after you get done, but at least they're coming out with stuff every 2 months or so. Plus, I don't know how any one thinks the Justice System is going to change game play more than an occasional bounty and "***, now I have to pay 60 gold to get out of trouble." I'm excited to see the Champion System be implemented, but it's not like they can just do it overnight; it basically requires an entire game redo.

I agree with the OP, while still trying to hold out some hope for the game in general.
I recently re-subbed to the game after a two month break. I like many things about ESO, I like questing even though through the VR zones was a bit grindy, I love grouping and doing dungeons etc.. with friends.
What I honestly find the most disappointing is the lack of class balance. If you want to run a trial and even want to go for "best times" in trials, everyone has to be in light armour, everyone uses a destruction / restoration staff etc etc...
We've all either said it or done it. I'm attached to my character, I don't want to build a specific way just because everyone else is doing it to be able to enjoy all aspects of the game. I don't want to "have to" build one way because the game
is so imbalanced right now that if I don't I'll never get a group in PVE or PVP.
So to release a trial and an Arena in Update 4 and yet no mention of the mechanics of class balance that is obviously broken right now or any other additions to the game with Update 4 is really disappointing.

as much as it sucks, you have enough skillpoints to spec for both your favored skills and the ones necessary for that stuff.

    That's what I did.

Then I gave up the gost and specced out of my favored skills because my points are precious. /sigh
