Consider this... If I have 1-2 hours a day to play, and my ultimate in game desire is to reach max VR and PvP as soon as possible. Would you solo quest, or would you instead do Craglorn?
Solo questing seemed to take around 10-12 hours per zone/VR Rank and this seems like a pretty poor investment of time.
I'll go back and do those quests when I run out of skill points
I wouldn't care. When people pay my subscription fee they can tell me where I can and cannot grind.
I do Craglorn grind on alts occasionally. If a grind group is full I just tag along outside of it (until there's space) and nuke the bosses. I usually get the exp anyway. Never gotten any angry whispers for doing that though.
But it's problematic with the 12 people credit thing. Results in no one being willing to heal or tank. No one's taking care of the adds either. So many unnecessary deaths at boss grind and anomalies. Everyone's busy fighting each over getting kill credit, while team members are dying all over the place. Like I could heal people about to die while being in a grind group, but if I do I might not get any exp lol. It's a bad design.
Mainly burials at the moment, seems the best bang for buck in the EXP department.
I guess it's unfortunate that the VR system requires this type of rule-setting. Personally I think I prefer to take on the role of 'belligerent-***' and selfishly dive in.
I'll be damned if I'm going to wait for some chump who has been grinding for 8 hours straight to drop out of a group so I can gain an hours worth of exp.

I won't name specific people however I've been grinding Craglorn for the last 2 weeks, trying to get through the monstrous timesink that is VR ranking and I've come across 2-3 individuals who are particularly bossy about unspoken rules on how to grind correctly.
I'm happy to be corrected on this so flame on if needed.
At peak hour times I've found myself waiting over an hour to try and get an invite to a grind group. With my limited playtime I instead choose to follow these groups and get involved in the fighting outside of the party.
I wasn't aware that only the top 12 damage dealers receive experience from a boss, is this correct?
Receiving a torrent of abuse because I can't be bothered waiting hours for some arbitrary queue to allow me into the grind group seems a bit rich.
How do you personally handle this? Do you dive into the fight regardless of people sending you whiney/abusive tells, or do you sit back patiently and pleasure yourself to the 1 terabyte of hentai you recently torrented?

No....it totally isn't, and it never will. It's called "playing". Something players do for their amusement, not yours.

I don't care either way. I just know that in every other MMO I've played, interfering with world bosses (in this case, stealing XP and loot) is considered greifing.
