How do I get to Auridon?

Completed main story line as a Pact. Clicked on Cadwell's stone. Got ported to Glenumbra. Don't wish to play as a DC--want to play as an AD. How do I get to Auridon? I tried porting to the one wayshrine I have in Auridon, but it ported me back to the Horborage in Glenumbra. Went back to Cadwell's stone in the EP zone. Clicked on the stone--Glenumbra.

If your in Vet Zones you have to complete one before the other.

So you have to do DC zones until you finish the main story of it then youll get to do AD.

When champion ranks get put in it may not be that way anymore.

Any idea how long it will take to tear through that questline? I REALLY don't want to play in EP land. And, what is the name of that questline so I can find a walk-through.

    Thank you!

You don't get to pick the order

DC players always do AD then EP
EP players always do DC then AD
AD players always do EP then DC

Bring up your journal and review Cadwell's Silver in the Almanac. It'll take a while. You really can't bypass much unless you want to grind through it in a constant state of being severely under leveled. Basically, you'll have to do everything as a new character in those zones, minus the Guild and Main Story quests.
  • andre.roques.3b14_ESO
The VR zone for a faction follow the reverse of the ouroboros symbol for ESO. Basically EP > DC > AD >EP etc. So, sorry to say, but that isn't a choice. This was presumably done this way to maintain the factions in each zone. So your faction's VR 1-5 peeps are all in DC and then VR 6-10 in AD. If you had a choice, ZOS would have to have 15 zones phases rather than the 9 that are required with no choice.

In your original post above you said you were EP and don't wish to play as DC.

Now your strong rejection kindles my curiosity. Would you mind to give a reason, no matter what alliance?

I mean, it's not to be expected that, immediately after setting foot in the lands of any other alliance, the quality of storytelling, voice acting, or of the game in general will suddenly drop.

You don't have to play EP if you don't want to. Just grind out to VR12 in Craglorn.

Of course you will miss out on a ton of skill points and achievements.

Well, you could always reroll to an AD character if you really want to experience the AD contents, If that's out of the question, then there are no other alternatives to skip an entire alliance.

But DC isn't all that bad, they have some good quests. c:

Edit: EP you mean DC, confused?

Dc is by far the most boring until you get to alik'r desert, then mostly boring again for bangkorai. The whole breton storyline is a snoozefest. I would rather it be all redguards or all redguards and orcs as opposed to anything with bretons.

Do not be so quick to judge DC. While some of it is boring, it's still amazing new land with new things to explore. And you'll get to Auridon eventually, Just quest and enjoy the game.

I wanted to play AD after EP myself and was initially disappointed but after a few quests I found DC was a blast. I'm having fun working my way through DC and AD isn't going anywhere. I'll enjoy that too when I get to it.

My suggestion is to give the DC quest line a chance. You may find, like me, you really like it. If not, you can always create an alt.

Sounds like you just have a Breton prejudice. :P It's interesting how these things are really all about preference, since I had the opposite experience. I loved all parts of the DC zones and storyline but I was bored more often in the desert than anywhere else.

Might be that I just like that gloomy, dismal England-inspired look.

Anyway, OP, give DC a try, some of the storylines and quests are really fun and you may enjoy it more than you think. And as someone else suggested, if you're just really anxious to experience the AD content, make an alt character to play for awhile.

    Typo.

I play two toons: My main which is EP and just finished the main story line, and is now thrust into DC. My alt is in AD and is played only with my wife. We are both level 42, and in a few weeks or so will finish the AD line. (She has an alt in EP.) When we both finish AD, our plan was to roll new toons and play in DC, since it is the one zone neither of us have done before. Thus, I am left with two choices:

    1. Abandon my main and only play when she does.
    2. Play my main in DC, and my alt in DC, at the same time.

Neither of those are appealing, But sadly, the first one is the one option I have which is the least un-appealing.

I have 16 skill points I haven't spent yet, and achievements don't mean anything to me. And grinding? I was in this game 15 minutes after the early access went live. I just hit my first VR1 on August 8. Trust me, I do not grind :)

I agree that this doesn't sound very attractive. Shortly after launch, I've made an alt in the same alliance as my main, with the goal of leveling another class/playstyle on the side. Now I wish I'd chosen another alliance for it, since the prospect of doing the very same quests again when they're still fresh in memory from the first time round is detrimental to my enjoyment of the game. I found that I tend to just click through known quest/story dialogue, instead of savoring it. That's not how I want to play ESO, and certainly not what the excellent writing deserves. ;)

I hope that with the upcoming Champion System, things will change for the better, as far as (soon to be ex-)VR content is concerned. Additional or alternative zones to level in would be welcome, too.

Just complete the mission chains required by Cadwell's Silver to advance to DC. It will not take as long as completing every EP mission available.

The mission chains you need are in your achievement journal.

Cadwells Silver is only concerned with a very specific set of quests. The "area storyline" (as I like to call it). Wich are also the quest that give you skillpoints.
Once you completed those you should be able to do gold next, even if you skipped every other quest along the way.

I doubt doing only those will take long at all.

Agree with the part where you say more or alternative zones to level in would be very welcome. Unfortunately ZOS has no present plans to change anything to do with the actual questing in the two other factions part of Vet content. They are implementing a change to what the Vet ranks are 'called' and the way experience gained in the Vet content can be used. We will be getting access to 'perk' type points in the Champion system, allowing the characters on our account to gain interesting additional strengths or utility along the way.

From Sage's commentary at Quakecon it sounds like the longer you've played, and the more you play will provide the most benefit from this new system. It will be great to see more info on it. If however ZOS also comes out with a release saying they have in some way changed the content we must cover in said Vet content, now that would be well received I think from a lot of players.
