Please Nerf Agony

Agony: A spell mobs cast, if not interrupted will put a circle of roots around you and stun you for like 5 seconds while the mobs continue to attack you.
You cannot break out of this stun by rolling.

Am I the only one who thinks this spell is simply rigged? Every time I have failed to interrupt the cast, I have died. As when I am stunned they beat me down to like 10% of my health. Generally the first attack out of the stun they kill me.

Please allow us to roll out of this stun. Or make it break based on how much damage has been inflicted on you while stunned, 100% of your health is far too high at the moment.
Waiting, and watching, for the return of Melee Weapons.

Roll dodge only breaks you out of immobilize effects, where you are rooted but still able to do things.

To break out of this, you need to BASH, which is also called "break free" when you are incapacitated or stunned, meaning unable to do anything, like with this ability.

Hold down right mouse (block) and hit attack (left mouse.) This is also how you bash enemies to interrupt their casting windup. It is in the tutorials at some point.

I regularly break out of agony when I am not paying attention enough to block or interrupt it (either work.)

While I accept what you say, I've never seen this mentioned in-game and worse it's an entirely illogical mechanic: you're supposed to be stunned, how the hell are you supposed to be able to perform this manoeuvre?

Another proof mobs in PvP (guards) need to be reverted back to what they used to be.

You are supposed to have to stun break this, not dodge roll. Right then Left mouse buttons. Though we have noticed that on some of the NB powers, usually when NPCs do them, like this and the soul tether stun they do, sometimes things bug out and you cannot CC break out of them even with plenty of stamina available.

The thing that bugs me about it is, when I use it as a NB, the effect ends as soon as I attack the target. The same should be true of when enemies (even NPCs use it). If it ends for me, it should end for them as well.

Yep, damage breaks then the DoT comes. 12s or 14ish with passives

Seems like a bug if you are rooted / stunned after damage

12 seconds is far more than enough for pretty much any mob your level to kill you.

A 12 second stun in pvp would ruin the game.

When the effect on Agony ends, there's a lingering damage effect for about 5-8 seconds afterwards, though it shouldn't by any regards be enough to bring you down 100% of your health.

As others have already said, right-click (block) and left-click (attack) to break out of the roots, then I'd personally recommend roll-dodging out of any casting effects and try to get up close and personal while using pots to heal in order to interrupt the caster from doing any spells. It also helps if you have any skills that can stun casters or immobilize them when they're prepping to launch an attack on you.

You can CC break out of these, as has already been pointed out. The only issue I'd have is that unlike with other knockdowns/stuns you can't seem to prevent an incoming agony attack by simply blocking (probably because it is apparently magicka-based), which takes less anticipation/preparation than interrupting does.

Also, I agree that the CC break maneuver should probably be better communicated - just like that "right click to exploit" an off-balance effect reminder pops up often, "press both mouse buttons to break free" or similar should be there every so often also. I remember being pretty surprised to learn I could break free from the screaming air-grab that liches and harvesters can do, and wish I had known muuuch earlier, haha.

It's also a nightblade skill if you didn't already know. I try and block it generally.

You can block during its 1+second induction, you can bash to interrupt it during its 1+second induction, or you can perform a stun break to break the cc after wards. It also breaks on damage.

It's only 12 sec if none of the above occur. As for PvP, are people actually using Agony much?

It has a 1.5 second cast time and last 12 seconds. Against npc's they will often break it long before the 12 seconds.

You can break out of it yourself as well.

In pvp its very situational due to the long cast time, personally I would use cripple in pvp as it is instant and just slows down the enemy player.

Its very handy in pve to split up the npcs as you fight them. So no it doesn't need a nerf at all. Learn how to break out of these roots and stuns instead.

in Coldharbor, the groups of 3 sometimes get me like this, but I usually find it survivable even if I can't break the stun. High armor and spell resist helps a lot to mitigate the incoming damage (while stunned). Seems like only a 5 second or so stun though, before I automatically unstun (and take DoT).

Must say that in the bigger groups in multi-player dungeons, getting caught like this is almost invariably a death sentence, as there is just too much incoming damage while stunned. That said, it helps to have friends with you in that situation, especially healers :)
