The problem is that they decided to give stuff to new players that paid the same exact thing 4 months later , while locking things from players that having been here since the start.
The ONLY reason i did not unsub after the first month , is because i did not want to lose things , being a subscriber i thought i would be able to pick any limited edt thing that came along ingame.
Which was not the case , clearly here i will lose stuff anyway , so there is now NO REASON to remain loyal to this game and subcribe while they fix the huge amount of issues.
umm dogs will become available eventually just not that one, and if you have been here since day one enjoy the fact that you can play any race in any alliance while the new customers cant. You cant have everything friend it just doesn't work like that.
And my point is the same.
0 reason whatsoever to keep paying for this game and stay a loyal customer if i think the bugs and issues are a problem.
I dont care if there will be other dogs , i want ALL dogs to be available even i would not get them all. That simple.
This kind of pratice is what made my unsub from other games before, i can understand if GW2 did it , which they did not , but from a company that expecs me to keep paying month after month this was one stupid move.
Just a quote from a previous post, perhaps it would help people understand where those who are upset are coming from.Honestly, I see it like this.
Let's take the option to hide pauldrons (the shoulder flappy things) as an example. People have been asking for that for quite a while. It doesn't do anything but change your look, but it's a welcomed change for the people who turn it on. Well, let's say, 3 months after release, Zenimax goes and releases ESO on Steam. Not so bad, right? Except there's a special offer...those who buy the game through steam will have the option to hide their character's pauldrons.
The long-time players have wanted this since the beginning, but yet, instead of giving it to those players, they decide to give it only to the newbies through Steam. What a slap in the face, right?
See, it's not just about the dog. It's about the fact that they took something that we've wanted since day one and given it to someone else.

It's become a judgmental/shallow social forum of sorts. It's less about community and more about competition. It's very sad.
All this fuss, virtual war and anger for a wolf pet!! A WOLF PET!?!?!? I probably don't understand all of this because ESO is my 1st MMO and i'm not really an elitist. But still imo the 2014 gamer is exagerating.

Online forums allow for complaints, as wasn't the case not so long ago.
For example, in 1993 I had some complaints in regard to Final Fantasy II on the SNES. But I knew of no online forums at that time for FF games wherein I could air grievances.

And you know what? I think I was happier with games in those days. Because there wasn't a giant online tumor of a forum filled with people looking to complain about things in order to get the developers to make "their" game.
Don't like a game? Don't play it.
Sort of agree...Trust me it still is not MOST gamers. Pretty sure the bulk of gamers out there don't care about the pet one way or another. However, there is a very loud and vocal segment of gamers that have been raised and brainwashed with the entitlement mentality. The whole idea that someone else has something they don't just gnaws on their thoughts.
Please don't ever mistake forum complaints as the bulk of gamers. They seriously are like .01 % of the gaming population and they are the most vocal and opinionated segment.
It's almost like you haven't even read why people are upset, and are just being a reductionist and dishonest ass to get attention.
Huh. I wonder.
Remember how terrible the AT-ATs looked on the Atari 2600 game?

I always thought it was cool that enduro changed from night to day....lol.
Pitfall was way ahead of its time for graphics.
Has far as prices I disagree...I was buying new Sega genesis games for $30....I bought teso for $100.

No on both accounts. I paid 69.99 + 20 for imperial + tax. I believe steam doesn't charge taxes.
I was buying new releases for $29.99 (genisis)some games were a little more. I bought atari games for $19.99 new. It wasn't until play station 1 came out that standard pricing started hitting $40+ consistently.
I bought phantasy star online(xbox) new for $29.99 + subscription.
I remember some mech game with awesome controller being a little over $150 and people on the fence if it was worth that much.

Now the Internet forums and social media have finally given customers a voice. Voices and opinions that are unfiltered.
Today you're seeing what was hidden behind filters and marketing campaigns.
Nothing's is wrong but perhaps the reality of people is just as scary to you as it was to companies who fight to silence the voices and opinions of others.
