All this fuss, virtual war and anger for a wolf pet!! A WOLF PET!?!?!? I probably don't understand all of this because ESO is my 1st MMO and i'm not really an elitist. But still imo the 2014 gamer is exagerating.

If you don't care about the pet, why don't you just add it to Steam as a non steam game? You still get overlay, if that's what you want

If you don't care about the pet, why don't you just add it to Steam as a non steam game? You still get overlay, if that's what you want

✭I don't know. I think back in the day DLC stores and pay gates were EXTREMELY frowned upon.
I was around when there was a debate against expansions and that they should be part of the subscription. (which I still personally agree with even if they brought the sub up a bit wow hasn't been updated in almost 10 months and they say its because they are working on the expansion - which you have to pay for)
Regardless of where you stand on this issue there was never a time when people were "less entitled" in gaming. If anything they were more so because this sort of thing would have been "the worst thing ever" in early WoW or EQ. I still remember when they put the very first thing in the blizzard store - you would have thought Russia just sent a hundred nukes toward the US It was a big deal.
The industry has changed and people have just sort of accepted it. There are those of us who remember a golden age when our subscription included everything, sure.

I think the saddest thing is that the ingame issues have been talked about in absurdum over the months since beta and next to nothing has happened in case of solving them really. I kind of understand how this lousy dog can have such a big impact on people, it is after all pretty wierd to give exclusive stuff only 4 month into a game like that. If it was happening to celebrete the first year ok, but now? I dont think this game is going good at all. Thats my take of it.0 -

However, there is a very loud and vocal segment of gamers that have been raised and brainwashed with the entitlement mentality. The whole idea that someone else has something they don't just gnaws on their thoughts.
Please don't ever mistake forum complaints as the bulk of gamers. They seriously are like .01 % of the gaming population and they are the most vocal and opinionated segment.6 -

It's not just gamers it's become Entitlement Nation (insert your own nation here). Everyone seems to think they are somehow owed everything even if they didn't earn it (Dye related achievement complaints) or didn't work for it (Trial gear being superior to Crafted gear complaints) or it should be free (Account bank upgrade cost complaints), etc forever. The problem is that they decided to give stuff to new players that paid the same exact thing 4 months later , while locking things from players that having been here since the start.
The ONLY reason i did not unsub after the first month , is because i did not want to lose things , being a subscriber i thought i would be able to pick any limited edt thing that came along ingame.
Which was not the case , clearly here i will lose stuff anyway , so there is now NO REASON to remain loyal to this game and subcribe while they fix the huge amount of issues."Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

0 reason whatsoever to keep paying for this game and stay a loyal customer if i think the bugs and issues are a problem.
I dont care if there will be other dogs , i want ALL dogs to be available even i would not get them all. That simple.
