Forcing everyone to be Vampire at pvp is not so clever. But atm - if player wanna be OP - must be a Vampire. Check this issue, please, nerf and make some smart changes. I hope - this will be one of most important topics at QuakeCon 2014. Today.

Vampires are strong, but it's important to note that the player you mentioned also happens to be Emperor right now. It's a combination of Emperor and Vampire that allows him to wipe entire raids. Not vampire abilities alone. Also the fact that zergs run into his swarm doesn't help, it just makes it easier for him. When you see him in bat swarm, which is 99% of the time, roll out the way and spread out. Do not charge into him no matter how tempting it is to do so against a lone guy. Unless you're in a train with good healers stay clear.

Also it's against the rules to mention names, just saying. ;)

The negatives of being a vampire are more significant than people think, and it is only going to get worse in update 3. The Health Regen soft cap made the Health Regen debuff not quite as bad. However, with the Health Regen soft cap going up so high in update 3, it is going to hurt more to be a vamp since everyone is going to have much much higher health regen than vamps.

It's ultimate reduction stacking that's the culprit here. It will forever be a problem until caps are placed on it. They nerfed vampire once already because of this problem and it's still happening, which is only proof that vampire was never the problem to begin with

<sarcasm>Maybe they should just do away with races and skill lines in PvP. Everyone gets the same stick and robe and a single button to push. No thinking, no learning, just mindless button mashing for everyone. Wouldn't that make for a lovely gaming experience?</sarcasm>

The player mentioned in this thread is very OP, but that's just the mechanics of the game and being emperor. I've seen him go down to groups of only 6 if they're smart.

I've even gone up against him 1v1 and survived the bat swarms and other attacks. Haven't been able to kill him 1v1, but as a V5 templar I don't expect to yet.

If you've played AB enough you'll know who his group is and when he'll show up and then simply avoid the batswarm and hit him from afar. He'll drop quickly enough with CC and stuns.

"OP" vamp vs. DK using flame lash. Not a good time when DK tanks become DPS.

But in all seriousness you Vampirism is very strong, it also has huge disadvantages that are being compounded in 1.3 (as stated before). I don't think it needs to be changed, I have watched many a vampire die, many a time, to all kinds of opponents.

Perhaps what this thread should be about is, werewolf needs a buff? Or maybe people just need to make WW guilds and take advantage of the WW group buffs? Either way it isn't working very well for them atm.

This. A vampire killed you? Get some oil, it's really cheap and kills them in under five seconds if they lag or don't heal. Oil is your friend, folks.

Do you know what I find the most annoying? Players giving advice like AVOID, ROLL OUT, simply get the [snip] out of their way.

What is this game? Use AOE or die? Why are single target focused players punished in such harsh way? After some decent time in PvP I must say that I do understand now all those who complained about PVP in this game.

At first I thought that zerg was meant that you were outnumbered and killed (that is normal), but it turned out that there are low numberer groups using AOE and killing even 5x stronger army which is focused on single target... Because as single target player you MUST hide behind rock when you see this train.
For sure play the way you want. You build tanking class and you die in 2 seconds from some noobs who can't even get that extra work to target you. So they just run through and mash AOE.

This PvP with such strong AOE is a joke.

Whether you find it annoying or not, rolling out of the way and avoiding certain abilities (red circles etc) is part of how this game plays. This isn't your typical stand still tab onto target and mash buttons MMO. If you don't roll, block, and simply avoid certain things you will die. Simple as that really.

This coming from a single target focused Tank. ;) I was in the OP's group yesterday when we got mashed up, i'm sorry but a casual group will very rarely if ever beat an organised train, even less so when the train is lead by the Emperor.

The vampire population is on the increase again, having plummeted after the Bat Swarm ultie stack was fixed. The reason is slightly different this time

The fact is for moving zergs, static ground effect ulties are inefficient and the zerg have been learning this over the last month. Bat Swarm allows you to move with it and that thus take full advantage of its damage.

In update 1.3 all CCs will be treated the same. Which means that rolling out of talons for example will give you CC immunity to all types of CC. That further diminishes the value of ground ulties. That means more Bats are coming.

You'll be lucky if your Atro/Nova/Standard/VoB inflicts 400-500 dmg to the opponent, because they'll just CC break/roll-dodge and move out. Bat Swarm deals about 3 times that damage and unless you die your opponent can do nothing about it.

Note: Ground ulties are still good when taking flags or defending narrow places. but people go Vamp so they can have both.

No one forces anyone to be a vampire. If he wants to be one, up to him. Neither has he ever (at least when I was around) stated to others in our group that they need to be a vamp.

They should just remove invisible from clouding swarm IF you use any skill. If you want to be invisible - fine, but don't take any action. Taking any action (attacking or using spell) will reveal you and you stop being invisible.

This should stop problem with clouding swarm + impulse/volatile familiar/sap essense spam.

I went vampire at v10 to test it out.
At level 10 vampire with all passives maxed
I'm basically trading one jewelry slot (Legendary Fire Resistance) for for a number of bonuses.

Fire doesn't worry me in PvP in the slightest, but everyone focuses on using fire skills against me anyway. All it really does is make my opponents more predictable.
The diminished Health Regen doesn't worry me, healing skills are everywhere and any teammate that sees me missing health heals me because they get points for it. I also have skills to constantly heal myself.
I run around at Stage 4 all the time because the penalties of being a vampire are virtually non-existent.

Compared to being a non-vampire, vamp is OP.
Compared to being a Werewolf, vamp is even more OP.

If you want to kill loads of players and farm AP, than the vampire skill line is still the way to go. The so called "penalty" is a joke in that context.

But If you PvP for unselfish reasons, like saving the map and the faction instead of farming, than vampirism isn't all that great really. Actually a bit of a liability with to many vamps when taking keeps. The sensitivity to fire and the lack of health recovery becomes very troublesome when it's constantly raining fire siege and oil. They're like little needy babies screaming for heals and purge.

Than again most players don't give a crap about the map and dull objectives lol. They only want to kill other players. So I guess that makes vampire a better choice than playing mortal.

Vampire DKs are the most OP someone can be.

They drop Bat Swarm, which charges Standard of Might almost before the duration of the Bat Swarm ends, and down goes the Standard.

With 2 sets at the moment lowering the Ultimate regen, they can spam them before most of the player realise what hit them to counter.

So for the time been, when I want PvP I go back to War of Roses.

I have only one simple suggestion: change CLOUDING SWARM skill in such a way, so you can't use other skills while you are invisible. in my opinion it's the best thing ZoS can make to solve overpopulation of vampiers in pvp.

This, exactly, plus a negative buff on daylight... as ALLL the vampires should be.

Seriously, that's just becoming as ridiculous as a few months ago. People that say "just burn them", ok i understand it BUT as they are almost all the time invisible + spamming AOE damages, how can we "burn" them before they burn you ?

BTW i thinked TESO was a skilled gamer play but no, as ALLL the other MMO, it's all about playing THE OP build and go zerg. Nice
