Hopefully they provide another place for solo players to find difficult content. It was refreshing to not just stroll through fights.

I agree. In spite of my issues with VR, it wasn't just due to the difficulty, it was the FORCED nature of the environment. Now that adjustments are coming in, I think the next step is to start providing challenge areas. Places people can go if they want the difficulty (and of course better rewards as a result!)
Where does it say that they are actively working on it apart from the road ahead? I can't find any further information on this other than the road ahead article.
We need a "you suck " toggle for those without superior "twitch" skills.

But here's the rub, how do you make completing difficult content rewarding. If you make it rewarding those who think the content is too difficult will eventually demand it becomes easier for the less skilled or dedicated. I think a few Vet dungeons that offer unique titles might work since you won't get extra skills or exp.

The universal MMO trend is to demand that everything be made easier. Anything that is more difficult will be targeted as unfair.

It is what it is. I don't think there is an MMO in existence that offers challenging solo content and I see why. You can't blame the developers if the majority of players want easier content. Still it's not a big deal because the rewards were not on par with the difficulty.
If there is only challenge and no rewards, then the only people who care are those who want to stroke their e-peen and say 'I accomplished this!'vyndral13preub18_ESO wrote: »If there is no challenge and no rewards, I'm not exactly sure what people will be doing here.
