Zenimax is fixing the obscene difficulty of VR content. That will get people to come back to ESO. This is a joyous moment for all. So when is update 3?

I agree that this is good news.

However, i still think that they should get rid of the cross faction VR grind altogether.
IMHO, it has always felt like an afterthought and doesn't fit into the story line.

Somabich, thought I'd see they finally stopped forcing solo play.

Hopefully they provide another place for solo players to find difficult content. It was refreshing to not just stroll through fights.

Yeah that's probably good news, but still I think facilitating players interactions and grouping is another priority - and possibly a related one. I don't think I'd mind soloing a bit more but somehow playing solo is not the reason why I'm subbing for an online game (even a TES one).

At times I like to solo, at other times I'm eagerly looking for other players to have fun with but the interaction and grouping systems being what they are make it very hard to do so (honestly, I keep reading Sorcerers are kings here but whenever I need one, I can't find any) .

@ Ragnar_Lodbrok: I guess you use staffs - where are you when I need you?

I agree. In spite of my issues with VR, it wasn't just due to the difficulty, it was the FORCED nature of the environment. Now that adjustments are coming in, I think the next step is to start providing challenge areas. Places people can go if they want the difficulty (and of course better rewards as a result!)

I agree Hoamii, but really grouping should be about dungeons, or other instanced stuff.. or even world bosses and anchors, and maybe PVP.. just trying to do bog standard PVE quests should be pretty much soloable for all character builds.

An interesting concept might be scalable mobs, where they scale in difficulty depending on the amount of players within a certain distance.. or faster respawn times due to player density? Though I reckon that would be pretty hard to manage, and code for in open world environments

I went back and played skyrim for a while, and I was amazed at how easy elder scrolls games are. don't get me wrong, balance doesn't exist in single player games, but still... 1-50 in ESO feels about right for elder scrolls content; VR content on paper sounds cool, but is the most destructive concept I have ever seen in an mmorpg. I barely even play anymore because my main played through the other factions, and has crafting mastered, so now what is the point? pvp needs to be put back in the oven for a bit, and the economy isn't workable enough.

I will continue to sub only because I know one day there will be vet points, as well as the fact I like to play a little here and there, but whoever made the final decision on VR content needs to be fired. the concept itself isn't new and isn't bad, but to include the other factions was an Rtard decision that will cost this game more money than any other design choice. but... hindsight is 20/20, so I shouldn't be so harsh.

But here's the rub, how do you make completing difficult content rewarding. If you make it rewarding those who think the content is too difficult will eventually demand it becomes easier for the less skilled or dedicated. I think a few SOLO Vet dungeons that offer unique titles might work since you won't get extra skills or exp.

very few of the quick twitch masters play without keyboard macros. The quick twitch kiddies are as much myth as they are a deception, claiming skill where there is none.

Absolutely, the rewards for difficulty will be hounded by those unwilling to step up to the plate. It's one of the reasons I'm cool with VR being made easier, there are no exceptional rewards that necessitate the difficulty.

I just hope that they do add solo dungeons on par with trial difficulty for people to work through, for a time at least before it gets hounded down in difficulty for the others.

While I am of the mind that Vet wasn't impossible, just hard, and was actually enjoying myself; I am glad these changes are coming, I just hope it doesn't turn into a roflstomp through the tulips.

I am also glad that my fellow adventures will be able to "unpark" their toons and get back to gaming.

It is what it is. I don't think there is an MMO in existence that offers challenging solo content and I see why. You can't blame the developers if the majority of players want easier content. Still it's not a big deal because the rewards were not on par with the difficulty.

There aren't actually many 'rewards' in this game at all. If there is no challenge and no rewards, I'm not exactly sure what people will be doing here.

If there is only challenge and no rewards, then the only people who care are those who want to stroke their e-peen and say 'I accomplished this!'

If there is little challenge and high rewards, then the cry will be like WoW's 'welfare epics'.

Mh, the 'skill' in solo MMO play to me always was handling more pulls at once than others. Or if your not that much into farming mobs, they could implement a duo vet dungeon with packs of 4+ and there you'll have your solo hard mode.
