Well, WS is very big on "telegraphing", which means you spend a lot of time looking at the ground and moving around a lot. I guess it's better than just standing around, tab targeting and looking at HP bars in a frame. But TESO's combat is a lot better use of time/space imo. And more fun.

I agree TESO you spend more time actually watching character actions versus the ground while keeping an eye out for red.

Eh I'm going to continue to play both WildStar and ESO. I'm holding high hopes for the awesome stuff coming in the future of ESO, way I figure it - I got my futuristic, tongue-in-cheek humor and pew pew shoot'em up from wildstar, and my epic fantasy story with beautiful graphics from ESO. I'm a happy nerd.

but holy hell were the bots ridiculous for like the last 2 weeks. They brought the ban hammer down hard and I haven't seen or heard of 1 bot for the past 3 days.

*takes a deep breath* It's extremely well done, no Mega-Server phasing, fluid combat mechanics, class balance, way more depth in terms of things to do besides quest grind, player housing, path quests based on how you want to play, stable working PvP, no getting locked into a dead campaign, social/guild functionality, you can actually complete quests with other players, late game that doesn't consist of doing another factions starter zones, the community isn't actually going berserk, actually seeing lots of other players in game, 99% of players don't have the same mount, you get actual rewards for killing world bosses, bosses are challenging and require people to group up, and I mean this in the sincerest way possible: I think a lot of what's being said here is just denial to self-reassure. Notice that no one after will acknowledge this post.

And still it just looks like Tom and Gerry on acid!

I honestly don't understand why anyone would make a game like it.

This image sums up every reason I will never play this game, fluffy bunny ears, big manga eyes, ridiculous sexed up outfit, cute button nose and if she has bunny ears what in the world are her incredibly large ear-rings attached too.

Why would anyone over the age of 5 want this rubbish?

WS seemed a bit much to me. You have WAY WAY WAY more movement required than TESO plus the hotbar is 1-8 for action keys. This to me just sounds harder than it needs to be to play a game. NOT to mention that healing just about seems a chore in that game and Im glad TESO went with their design decision.

The real problem I have with WS combat isn't mobility, is that you have to achieve this mobility with a clunky system that's practically TAB targetting with some pseudo arcade elements (telegraphs). I really can't play TAB targeting games with skills rotations any more. Not to mention all the 'asian style' jumps and spins.
And the fact that specific weapons and armours are class-bound. And the questing... god the questing...

The graphics are the least of WS 'problems'

That's just the Exile side.....they're dirty space hippies. The people who aren't gaga for tentacles and aren't watching cartoons with subtitles and don't have really awkward fetishes involving things inherently Japanimation-esque play on the right side.

Actually, it's already "dying" now, they'll probably merge servers in September preparing for WoD

Even though it has questionable graphics and character models. The raids and pvp look interesting. But that's about it interesting.....not really worth involving much time in unless your into banging your head against a wall.

    LOL oh, Wildstar...

Oh gratuitous World of Robots Craft...

Right now the Wildstar devs are attempting to cash in on ZOS's horrible decision to nerf vet content to cater to the crybabies who refuse to block or dodge or not stand in fire, by putting out promo videos that repeatedly chant "hardcore."

Not a bad move, but honestly Wildstar combat looks terrible to me. Mobs just stand there like brainless punching bags maybe doing a stationary arm swipe while you mash your iwin buttons in their general direction.

The raids have some interesting spell and environmental effects, but they overdid the ground targeting system by including everything anyone and his brother is doing along with the enemies. That isn't "hardcore" it is a Pink Floyd light show gone horribly wrong.

I am sorry but I just couldn't take a graphical WoW clone seriously, and it is a graphical WoW clone. In fact I think they hired many of the same graphic designers that did WoW's cartoon theme.

Glad to have you back. I am waiting until monday myself to see if they completely ruin the need to try new abilities and use your brain that made this game outstanding and unique. If veteran content becomes a faceroll because they think catering to fire standers will win them more subs, my sub sill cancel yours out.

    But here's hoping.

Trying to simultaneously satisfy the casuals and the hardcores rarely works and I can only imagine the kind of debate that was raging internally over the decision to nerf VR content. There certainly was a ton of complaints about it being overly tedious and boring, perhaps as much as the complaints over the difficulty.

But the one advantage they have over us in evaluating this decision is that they are privy to all the data. They see the subs and the logins ebb and flow with every decision they make. I'm hoping that Monday's changes are just enough to relieve some of the boredom, without enabling universal facerolling, and that the plans to be announced later deal more substantively with the problem.

Overall, I'm optimistic given what we've got so far.
