    All the complaining

You see a lot of complaining in the game? And your problem is not that the game has issues, but that players bring up these issues?

    Facts;
Every game has issues and people post on game forums in response to these issues.

    A. Some people complain about issues in the hope of getting things fixed.
    B. Some people complain excessively about every little thing that annoys them creating their own little whine train.

The mature thing would to not post on those threads and ignore them, if it bothers you that much that you feel you need post and complain about them.

Also, what you might consider whining, might be very important to that person and others, so dismissing it as just whining might be very short sighted of you.

So if it is important to me that I value constructive discussion on the forums about game issues and bugs rather than persistent raging by a few individuals, I should not comment or complain about those individuals?
I think that is a bit hypocritical.

What is hypocritical is you stating that you value constructive discussion yet you also want to engage in threads that are volatile and nonconstructive?

    Touche...

I enjoy the game, but the bugs and other issues keep me from playing right now. I'm just waiting for the game to polish up more before I go head deep into the game. It'll get there, it just needs time.

    I only have two concerns,

    1. Optimization for multi cores
    2. Housing

Right now I miss the strong long term goal with my Chars, something to play for in the end. Many MMO´s offer items as the long term goal, but I never was a fan of that. Its a treadmill and after you do it for a few years you just burn out and cant motivate yourself for yet another raid.
That's why I like housing, as its a permanent thing that you can improve further and you never lose what was yours once, unlike with items that become worthless with every new raid patch.

As for the optimization, they made a huge jump from beta / release to 1.05 I gained 50% FPS back then. Yet I must say that using only one single thread is a real issue and while I am far from being a fan of Blizzard these days, the day when they added their third thread to the Wow client was a wonderful day.

Something similar I do hope to see at ESO very soon. WS has a patched double thread now and ZO really needs to work on their threading, else they could lose players on lower end rigs as they struggle in large battles and crowded area´s - but those are a key feature in an MMO and must run steady.

    • Class imbalance

    • The many many many bots
    • The grind after lvl 50
    • The sloppy story after 50
    • Poor grouping system
    • Poor guild store interface
    • Poor guild options
    • Poor patching (fix something break 3 things)
    • Poor communication
    • Poor combat mechanics (weapon swap delay, skills flat out failing, etc, etc...)
    • My class being bugged riddled (skills/passives still don't work since beta, tool tips wrong or not detailed enough)
    • The lag in PvP
    • Dungeons and other late game actives are unrewarding (Let's all Craglorn farm guys!)

That's about it off the top of my head.

2 things that I do think could have been ALOT better:
grouping. its frustrating, phasing ruins it half the time, and it can take even 2 hours to find a group for dungeons.
The veteran zones. I myself like them enough to go thru them, but I am still disappointed in them. I expected unique vet zone only storylines, and being the public enemy numero uno of the enemy alliances, not simply doing the other alliances quests. It quickly can turn into a "grinding for levels" experience, and can ruin PvE for a lot of people.

I hate that I feel like I'm playing a watered down single player rpg in which I can see other players playing a single player rpg.

Grouping is horrible. It's an MMO and yet it isn't feasible to group with people. Group dungeons are pointless. So questing/crafting is the only thing to do unless you wanna go cyrodil.

Also, 5 active skills on your bar is so lame. I wanna use more abilities, without having to switch weapon sets!

there is other stuff like the class system (which is very constricting compared to skyrim leveling), and some of the animations still seem clunky and awkward. But those above are the biggest problem.

Was online with my wife last night, and I saw an NPC quest-provider who was not there for her - nor had she done the quest before.

So tried to share the quest, but that was a no-go. She logged off in disgust shortly thereafter.

They really do need to fix grouping.

I just want more character slots.

Also not a huge fan of the 5 guilds in lieu of an auction house thing, but I'm not a very social person and avoid doing business with other people as much as possible (not to say I don't like social interaction, just not when it comes to buying/selling). But most people don't have my level of social anxiety so I suck it up.

You know one of the things that bothers me the most in this mmo and most other mmos is that you dont really want to quest with others because of the problems that come up. Broken quests, missing a part and now both or more players are backtracking, synergy is always out of whack, and your partner may or may not be speed clicking through the quests. I can go on and on...i havent seen an mmo that has done a great job with player group questing synergy.

I loved the game so far, levelling 2 char(lvl 20 and 38) on the NA server and 2 char on the EU server (20 and 35).
Then I joined the test server, using the Craglorn template.
And I don't like that much what this game turns into, at end-game.

    - Craglorn being group only, well you still can try to solo it but I can't solo mobs, I can figure it will be pretty hard to set up groups. Already been there, already done that in some other mmorpgs at end-game.

    - VR content:
Quests are same quests, just alliance crossed quests.
I enjoy very much the Ebonheat Pact quest line.
2 of my 4 characters are doing it.
As one is a sorcerer and the other one a templar, I'm cool with that.
But the idea of playing 2 times more that quest line is a turn-off.
I would have expected new quest content at least.

VR content, apart from Craglorn, is just same old stuff with super-hard NPCs to kill.

I like playing in groups but until now if I can't join a group, well I just play solo.
Anyway I'm more into casual grouping.

I must admit the peak at the vet stuff had me losing a bit of motivation.

If a friends asked you what you did not like about ESO, what are the bad points of the game, or what specifically about ESO upsets you, what would be your response?

What is it about ESO that might make you not want to log on and visit Tamriel?

What is it about ESO that may keep it from being a king among MMOs?

Right now the only issue I have are the bugs; however I feel the lack of a proper EU server is a real issue (I'm on NA BTW). The bugs I see right now that frustrate me the most relate to interaction with enemies:
    1. being killed by an invisible enemy.
    2. being killed because of lag; even having tested my connection and knowing it wasn't my connectivity.
    3. and also I love PvP but there are a slew of small PvP bugs including those related to repairing something like a Keep wall; can't repair a repairable wall, can't use door you just repaired et al..

Over all I love the game but ZoS please more patches!

I dislike the class balance, complete disregard for stamina based skills, Especially bows. I dislike the pvp lag and the lack of objectives. I dislike the itemization, loot does not feel or look epic. I dislike the higher tier crafting sets and a lot of the dropped sets, most are just crap, some are level locked. I really dislike that a dress and a stick performs better than everything else. About covers my gripes. Oh and the cs is a joke. Last but not least, all the broken nb skills.

After playing to VR 12...1100 odd quests and listening to most them, all I can say is: this game is painfully average in every single way and nothing like I imagined an Elder Scrolls mmo would be.

I can't be bothered to list all my problems with this glorified ES rip off: watch the Angry Joe review and that is exactly how I feel. That dude nailed it.

Right now, it looks like zeni is focusing everything on the console releases; I feel like I am paying to play a beta for them. No ty.

There is nothing here to justify a 15 buck a month sub if you ask me and there does not look like any plans what so ever to make that happen in the near future; they claim it will take 2 years just for features that are a staple in the SP games. Again, no ty.

This game is totally unrewarding to play in almost all things and feels like a minimum wage job meant for bots rather than a human being yet have the audacity to charge a monthly fee. W/e.

WTB ES VI from Bethsuda so I can totally forget about this greedy corporate cash in on an IP I have loved for years. If I was Bethsuda, I'd be ashamed of this sad excuse of a game. As Angry Joe said at the start of his review....'You dun **** it up". I could not agree more.

ATM the only place to enjoy Cyrodiil is Wabbajack. All other campaigns combined have less players than Wabba. IMO ZO needs to reduce the number of campaigns from 9 to 3.

To me it looks like another attempt to re-create DAOC-style pvp (previous one was Warhammer Online...we all know how that turned out) and in the process *** all over the IP they have chosen.
Either come up with your own IP (can do whatever you want there) OR stick with the lore established by 5!! single player games and don't bend the IP to fit your crap design decisions.

Melee players must aim manually all the time while ranged skills are like homing missiles.

5 skills on the action bar and a weapon swap. (blatant GW2 ripoff and they could not even make it as good)

Where are the schools of magic? (alteration, conjuration, restoration, destruction) And no, just slapping it onto a weapon does not count!

Where is the one-handed weapon skill line? Unarmed anyone? Dual hand casting?

Why is weapon/spell damage tied to how many points you put into stamina/magicka? Why not tie it to the skill LEVEL you have in the weapon/spell?

I could list more what i do not like about ESO but i'm getting more angry the more i write so i just stop here...so much wasted potential.

Social issues--like bad phasing, terrible grouping, no /follow command, limiting us to one ZONE chat channel, no notification when you get a tell, no name plates--these are what I run into over and over again.

Along with bad guild store interface.

Fix those and the game would be vastly improved for most players.

Balance and end-game issues are a constant fight in any MMO--they don't bother me--they'll always be on-going. But the above issues are Core, everyone runs into them, and they kill the day to day experience.

My only complaint is that there are too many crafting materials and too little bag space. It's my first character, so I pick up every flower, mushroom, and log I see. That, mixed with all of the reagents/stones found form looting wardrobes, nightstands, and chests and it's a constant struggle to keep bag space clear for quest rewards and drops.

Reagents with 0 vendor value should have their own unlimited bag space in my opinion. If not unlimited, at least separate.

So far there's really only one thing I don't like. When playing VR content, there are some quests that make pre-I've-already-killed-Molag-Bal references (such as observing that I have no soul, which is no longer the case). Though I like the Dark Anchors for the fun factor, they shouldn't exist in VR zones because we stopped the planemeld as part of defeating Molag Bal.

These factors break immersion by reminding you that you're doing quests that were intended for a different faction to level up with.
