I've learned through many years of MMO play not to bank on keeping funny named characters because sure as the sun will rise someone WILL report you. Just like on these forums.. o:)

In SWTOR I had the same forum name as I use here, and someone reported me and I was forced to choose a new forum name. Hell, they devoted an entire thread to getting me kicked off the NA servers because they were convinced I was a EU player making fun of Americans.

now im interested, what was it before they made u change?

    Read his name backwards. ;)

Common sense. It was said not to create a name with something like that. You did it anyway.[snip]
Idiot? You would think ZoS would encourage funny little things like this. Lusty argonian maid, b a s t a r d s tomb, etc.

I believe the OP was forced to change his character's name because he used "Molag", not "balls". The TOS specifies that you cannot use character names from popular culture.

I suspect you got banned for using Molag, not for balls. Even considering the obvious meaning of balls, its just not that bad. On the order of boobies.

His character was most likely locked, because he was reported for violating the games rules. There are dozens of players in game that sport the names of the franchises deities. Who probably aren't going reported, because they otherwise play well with others. So the community overlooks their very minor breach of the games rules.

The moral of the story probably goes something like this. If you wear a profane name. You best be on your absolute best behavior, because anyone you annoy too much can, and probably will report you for that name. Anyway I don't get the attraction myself. It is like walking around with a time bomb in your pocket just waiting to go off at exactly the wrong time.

Anyway this player was probably reported for the name, but the real crime was that someone thought they were a jerk that deserved it. Believe it or not most people are pretty liberal in these games. They aren't looking to cause anyone grief. Unless they feel that someone is intentionally causing them grief.

Believe it or not this is fairly common online. In all the years I played on Live I saw countless players reported for names, but in reality it was in retaliation for their in game behavior. I think the most important question would have to be what did this player do that was so bad to tick off their fellow players into calling the cops on them.

Within the past 24 hours, I've had two quests that made me act like a pimp. "Match the soldiers with entertainers". Uh-huh.

The second one, I got rid of a lady guard by paying some hunky guy to .. uh ... distract .. her.

Two others encouraged me to be an arsonist. It was like Devil's Night in Detroit.

    Names? Phwagh.

At least "Molag's Balls" is better than ccvvvnnnmmmmm and ajghsdisutfffpth.

If your characters name shouldn't have been banned for its name then what exactly did you mean by "Molag's Balls"

Where is your answer to this question? You wanted to be funny/offensive and it backfired. Get over it. Submit a ticket for renaming and move on.

It was randomly assigned. They did allow me to reply to the email with 3 new options in order of preference.

Don't panic. These simple steps will help you overcome this catastrophe:
    1) Put them on ignore, and report them.
    2) Announce in /zone, /say, /guild, and /whisper to everyone you know that you have ignored and reported them, and why. Doing this twice is optimal if possible.
    3) Carry on saving Tamriel knowing that you have almost certainly preserved a little angel's innocence, and quite possibly assisted in the birth of a kitten.

I'm not only president of the report names for fun club, I'm also a member.
