how many are on the pts anyway?
I could have dealt with any bug they introduced with this patch, save for the memory leak one that makes the game literally unplayable for me. VR mobs too tough? Np, let me make another char while you patch things up; achievements? don't care; broken skills? whatever, play without them 'till stuff gets sorted out.
Memory leak that damages my PC and makes the game downright unplayable? *** you, give me my money back.

Exactly. I expect bugged quests. Achievments bugged out? no problem, fix it when you can. Game got super hard for certain areas? Ok, I can find ways to adapt or other things to do.
Making the game unplayable at all with the added bonus of "hey we might actually damage your rig" is unacceptable.
Well it wasn't just a patch, but more content as well, although I'll agree that giving to us earlier in the week would have been nice. Of course this assumes that it was ready earlier in the week, and of course we still would have had to wait an age for it to be processed.1) Do not patch the game with a massive patch right before a holiday weekend. Do it at the beginning of the week, so you can fix the crap you are going to break. I would say don't break it in the first place, but you have shown us that this option is out of the question.
They did test it, but even then problems are going to be missed, I know from swtor that a number of problems are masked by PTS tests, only one or two computers might get the problem, which would be the equivalent of 5% of the market, but software engineers will ask is it just that computer, because 90% of the time it is.2) Do not push patches that you did not test. You have the PTS (which I doubt much actual "testing" gets done on, but whatever), but you don't even give them the patch you are pushing to test? Test 1.1.1, then patch 1.1.2 without testing it? Come on guys.
Not to be funny, but if they gave you the "Actual Information" would you understand it, because I wouldn't. What you want is an interpretted set of information, which they might not have, because the people who can explain it might be busy trying to fix it.3) When you decide to not follow these simple, common sense guidelines, then you bring in your staff to fix it, all day, all night, all weekend. You hotfix it immediately, and you actually give updates with what is going on. Not vague garbage like "we think we might have found something and we are working on it". Actual information.

Ok, my bad.AlexDougherty wrote: »They did test it, but even then problems are going to be missed,
Just wanted to address this one part. Sadly, you are mistaken, as has been confirmed by people that are a part of the PTS. They were given 1.1.1 to test craglorn, they never got to use 1.1.2, which was then pushed to live.
I'm actually hoping that the memory leak was responsible for the utterly appalling performance (the game, not us!) myself and guildmates were experiencing in PvP last night.
At one point, in desperation, I turned my gfx settings down so low that by comparison Gothic 1 would be rated a graphics showcase (I love Gothic btw, awesome game, just using the original as a graphics comparison!)

Aaaahhhh, you never played 'Defiance', I see....Never have I experienced such a vast amount of mismanaged, fumbling incompetence from any other single company in the history of game releases to this date. It's like they are doing it on purpose. Please tell me that there is a fundamental flaw in the gaming engines design which renders it totally uncontrollable by it's creators or for the love of Talos start firing those responsible ASAP and hire some competence.
Enough is enough!
Memory leaks for mac since beta. Still not fixed.
