"Endless War" seeds not working

i wanted to ensure this got attention in 'customer support' (ie bugs)

all day and all night since patch i see post in-game chat:
"anyone having problems planting seeds?"

yes, many... MANY.
(easily seen over a hundred people reporting issue in chat)

basically, after planting seed corpse SUPPOSED to transforms then run away.
however, we can plant the seed, but nothing happens to the corpse.
planting removes seed from my inventory, BUT...
nothing happens and no quest credit.
also, note i can plant ALL seeds on one body... very very bugged.

yes, seeds do work for some people,
but not for many many others, like myself

Same issue. No seeds left in inventory, 4/6 for completion of quest.

It worked for me when i was transformed to a skeleton and use the seeds

I'm having the same issue, planting seeds but the corpse doesn't get up. I've seen it work for some but there are some that it isn't working for - me, included.

Yep, I'm stuck at 5/6 for quest completion with no seed left in inventory. I guess I will have to abandon quest and start all over again. We'll see if it works.

3/6 and no seeds left.

Edit - After abandoning the quest and trying again, I managed 6/6. Slightly different approach then before:
Only talked to Juline
Killed only heritance soldiers
Planted seeds very carefully one by one (seed -> animation -> +1 to progress -> next seed)

Others are having the same issue with the seeds though

I ran into the issue where I had 5/6, but no seeds left. I was able to complete it by abandoning and restarting. If you plant the seed and don't see the corpse animate though, you'll need to restart. Some people have said they can never get the corpses to animate.

They really need to fix this if for no other reason than people ask about it every five minutes in Coldharbour zone chat

Just came here to add I am also having problems with the seeds not working.

theres an internal cool down on the seeds. if you have to use one on a group of corpses then run off to another and use another then run back to the first group if theres multiple dead for you.

I also have this same problem... given the number of people saying that they can't do this in game and the comments in this thread, plus the fact that they modified the code for this particular quest per the patch notes, I'd say the devs introduced a glitch.

I never saw any Chillrenders but I did find Cutthroats, so I tried planting seeds only on the "fixed" mobs (Cutthroats) that I had killed and still no dice. It doesn't seem to matter if the dead mob has a yellow glow indicating loot that has not been taken or if it has no glow/loot at all... In both cases you get a prompt for "(E) Use Strange Seed" and in neither case does it work. I also tried starting the quests for Mim and Relmus (as well as the seed one with Juline) and then killing a seed mob while transformed as a skeleton but that also failed to successfully give credit when planting a seed (first 5 attempts I only started/re-started Juline's line, then tried adding the other two sub-quests).

As to why some are affected and not others... no idea, but I had done the western half of Coldharbour before 1.1.2 dropped. When I got brave enough to login (after the memory leak was hot-fixed) the Groundskeeper did have me re-take the whole "Save the Hollow City" series, although I had not abandoned it and I didn't have to re-do the west half (those map markers were still solid white indicating I had completed them).

I get the feeling that if you skip this quest and do "Enter the Chapel of Light" that you can't come back and do it later so kind of stuck waiting for a hot-fix or a patch

At least just set my char ti have 6/6 seeds planted and I will do the rest.

I have tried every tip or trick put on the forums and zone chat. I have abandoned and retaken this quest numerous times. I've grouped with others, done it early in the morning. etc etc. This is my last quest in Coldharbour and the completionist in me wants to finish it so I can move on. I've essentially stopped playing my main, getting so frustrated with this quest that I log off and go play a solo game. To be honest, I'm not sure why I can't just move on and leave it undone, but please, for my sanity, just fix it! lol

Thanks, I wasn't entirely sure which category to place my original thread, as the organization of the forums are difficult to understand with so many languages in one place.

This solution worked for me... only thing that helped out of all that I tried. Hope it works for all those that are still stuck on this (I went down and to the left to kill the three across the shallow pond repeatedly; did NOT plant a seed on the first wave of kills... one seed per wave after that).

Nothing works for me - not even getting any animation, only the CD on the seeds. Tried the suggested method and it still doesn't work. Very disheartening because I can't help any of the mages as you have to abandon the whole quest

Yes, the blasted thing keeps bugging out. At times 5/6 then 4/6.. Using seeds, for a while works and then suddenly when I use one there's no animation played, no update but one of the seeds is gone. So far every single time, unable to complete that quest. Worked fine before the latest patch on my other char. This last patch though fubared up so many quests that it's just mind boggling.

You can get seeds again by abandoning the quest and re-taking it from The Observer NPC (where you started the quest). Although if the workaround of not planting seeds on first wave of kills, only doing one seed per wave, not planting if any other players are killing near you... dunno what to do

A CS rep suggested I rebind E to another key. Which I did and the quest then worked. Of course, it might have been coincidence, but I completed it when the area was heavily populated with real people and bot multi-boxers with no issues at all.
Might be worth a try?

Will try that today, but I have to say I am confused as to why that would work. The problem I am having is that there is no animation after I press "E", so why that would be connected to a key begin used, is beyond me as it's clear that pressing "E" does use my seed.

Exactly as I felt - I was very sceptical. So I was completely surprised when it worked. Prior to that I had no animation yet the seeds disappeared. A couple more things I should add that might have had an influence:

1. I had cancelled the quest then picked it up again, zoned out without doing anything for the quest, exited the game, gone to work and returned to the Cliffs after a few hours. (I had logged out the night before which did not make a difference but may have logged out in the Cliffs zone so this time was slightly different)
2. I took the other mages quests first - before even talking to Julien but hadn't done anything in their quests

Very shocked and pleased when it worked. I did tell people in zone chat (EU) and was then told it was silly because all people had to do was group for it to work. And I'm reading grouping doesn't always work either.

The good thing is the CS rep told me ZOS were working on a fix for the quest.

Also not working for me. Refuse to rebind my "use" key though.
That's about as stupid as Prototype 2 not working when you have USB devices plugged in.
