Should horses be able to swim in ESO?

    Nope, horses shouldn't be allowed to swim.

    it might break my immersion, because a horse materializing and dematerializing is way more realistic.

    getting thrown off my horse randomly just means my horse just isnt quite broken yet.

    so, ya my no vote and answer is goofy on purpose. besides polls dont win changes multiple whining threads do.

    I would rather have Mounted Combat. Just slow the horse down to a normal speed during combat to prevent mounted archers from kiting too easily.

    I don't even care about lore/realism arguments. It's annoying having to get back on your horse all the time and there doesn't seem to be any legitimate gameplay reason for it.

    Completely agree. I thought this game would be new and revolutionary and make some groundbreaking changes, but in regards to mounting, they only made it more annoying. I don't think they're supposed to make it annoying to the point where you don't even want to use mounts anymore. When you plan a game, you're supposed to include things that make your game stand out, and each feature implemented in your game has to have sound logical reasoning to it. As for Mounts, I still cannot grasp their reasoning at all. They're very expensive and completely off-limits the people who did not pay top dollar for the Imperial addition, there confusing and clunky, and they're not even much faster than running.

    Mounted combat would be a plus, dismounting in water is a toss up but I think for the sake of making the game more seamless having the same speed debuff and staying mounted in water would be okay.

    It should be able to, but VERY slowly. Like to the point of oh, I should have gotten of my horse and swam.

    True. I crossed a river with a horse a few years ago and he actually swam for about ten feet.

    That was the longest 10 feet of my life. (that might be the fear talking)

    Mounted combat would be bloody amazing. Charge wearing full heavy plate with a lance while being flanked by mounted archers, it would just be incredible.

    You could even do jousting tournaments!

    Just like in real life, when they touch water they should despawn.

    I agree with swimming, but probably have them keep the same speed as regular swimming.

    Though on the concept of swimming in generally I'd actually like them to change it to using sprint while swimming makes you initiate water walking while consuming mana.

    Have you ever seen a person pull a horse out of their pocket and start riding it? It is a video game. If you want to be realistic then the horse should always be by you and not pulled out of your pocket or thin air.

    We already cannot fight while swimming, so making the horse swim with us would not change anything and just be more realistic and less annoying.

    You feed the horse at a stable. Its something like 250 gold and you get to either make your horse faster sprint longer or carry more stuff.

    They swim faster with stamina as well... then that stats useful again. :P

    The point was that you asked if I've ever seen a horse swim with someone riding it like I'm stupid for thinking they can. Apparently you thought that it was invented in a game (horseback riding through water).
    My comment didn't have anything to do with you personally. I was pointing out that horses don't swim with riders on them, they only ford rivers and such that are shallow enough for it. It would look decidedly odd to see a horse swimming in the ocean, therefore my vote for no horse swimming.

    TES has underwater swimming.
    ESO has no underwater swimming.

    MMOs have dueling.

    Yes, but I don't see it happening. For some reason they decided to make horses afraid of water so even when the water is barely at their knee, they buck their rider and vanish into the horizon.

    They also decided that the many aquatic creatures in this game also have a phobia of water.
