I really really enjoy the PvE, I rolled a bow sorc with two handed, and i was able to make it to level 20 w/o spending any attribute points. Granted I spend most of my points on crafting(love the crafting system), so attributes aren't really a big deal. I could see, how some (min maxers, grinders, and generally people who want the most effeciency), would find the quests inneffective. Nonetheless, each story told by the quest lines(i'm in the AD) is engaging and interesting. Overall, I love ESO; and if they continue to add content (not grinds) and some skill lines I will be happy.

    Respecs are too expensive.

Economy is out of whack because of motiff abuse and the probability that people that duped are still around and gold farmers of course.

Bad item itemization requiring crafters to expend a lot of resources to increase inventory space.

Lack of daily quests that allow people to earn money at max level.

    Poor rewards for PvP.

    Lag in PvP.

Nightblade fixes being pushed back 6 weeks or more until 1.2.x.

For me the priority is for them to really combat the bot issue in this game. I KNOW, its been said to death by probably 100s now but until they combat the game breaking bots, who suck up resources in low level areas, and generally make questing and existence in ESO unappealing [simply by their very presence] nothing is going to get any better. ZOS needs to understand, we need more communication, we need more transparency. Show to us, the customer, the players who want to, and WOULD stay here for years, that you give a damn about us, and do not just want £$. Show to us you care about this game more than just for £$ but as a project, as a game, as a career/profession. SHOW TO US YOU CARE FOR YOUR WORK AND DO NOT WANT IT TO GO TO THE DOGS. Because if you don't, you WILL loose many more subs and eventually you will be left with just the bots. And that situation will lead to this games demise.

Its the bots, or us. Consider this an open letter ZOS.

    Direction?

I have no idea yet as I'm only at VR2 which I think is still original release material. Isn't this recent patch the first new material added to the game? If so isn't it a bit early to be asking as it's just a few days after the patch and quite a few of us can't even get in game due now due to bugs.

Exactly what direction is this thing going? Up? Down? Left? Right? Backwards? Forwards? Straight ahead? In circles? Somewhere? Nowhere?

I guess for me now as I can't play at all it's Nowhere. Hopefully that's a temporary status and not for too much longer.

Unfortunately some people, and I would include the OP are melodramatic. You are right, this game is too young yet for people to be wondering about the direction it should take. Most of us just want the devs to fix what is already there before we consider the future.

For example: Right before microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP, they released a patch for a memory leak issue dealing with the svchost.exe. The bug had been known for more than a year, and microsoft had attempted to fix the issue more than once in the past. Hell, in 2013 they released a patch with the sole purpose of fixing that one issue...the patch failed, and the memory leak bug continued.

I don't give a damn about some ancient operating system any more than i give a damn about anything that went on in Warcraft. What i do give a damn about is paying a big ticket price plus a sub on top for a game where I cannot reliably swap weapons or trust hose skills that are working to trigger properly.

both being things that are quite rightly, trivial non-issues in other games (such as GW2 with 2 bars and ArcheAge with 4) but somehow are intractable problems to Zen.

The number of action bars & skills on them is not a problem. It was a conscious choice by the dev team. It isn't like they wanted to have 50 action bars but somehow couldn't figure out how to make it work with more than one.

The person I was replying to was complaining that some bugs that were present in beta are still present. Sometimes bugs take a long time to get fixed & some never are.

If you are going to use a computer program, then get used to the fact that their will be bugs. There's never been a computer program larger than a few mb that had zero bugs, and there never will be either.

    Yes.

They are going their won direction to make an ESO game, and as long as they don't cater to the WoWers, those that want the game simplified, or those that want the game to be something it's not, everything will be fine
The only negative experience in ESO is those that make it negative.

After two months of playing this game, I was tired of all the bugs and glitches. But after giving it one more chance I decided to continue and rolled a sorcerer on the Ebonheart Pact. I can now say that I am having more fun than I have had with any computer game, even WoW (or Farcry 3 for that matter). Congrats to ZOS, keep it up, I'm sure there's more good stuff to come. And no - since you ask - I don't work for ZOS! :)

I've given it a 3 +1 month limit to see if it improves. Then I'll consider leaving.
Right now I admit it's not looking good.

Being in a parallel situation with my work (launching a new platform for our clients using another company's software), I can say that I am not pleased with the current direction.

I don't really blame the devs. But, I do blame the management. Just like in my work situation, rolling out a product that you haven't tested fully because you are being crushed by a heavy deadline, is not the way to conduct business. Slow down, take your time, and once you are comfortable (and can answer questions about the system's behavior - instead of just shrugging your shoulders and saying "I didn't know it would do that??!"), release it. Then take the feedback and take notes. If you promised an upgrade or expansion, reassess that specific deadline while taking in the feedback from your current clients. A good management team would let their devs thrive. Not set them up for failure.

    Egos are fun...

Canceled Sub a couple weeks back for a second time. Still lurk the forums a day or two a week to see if any changes are coming to make it worth coming back. So far no luck.

I won't ever be truly satisfied until eso lets you build your own class out of all skill lines.

I'm still having fun though, both on classes deemed op and classes deemed worthless.

I don't know. Wife and I are remaining subscribed to the game for the time being, though we're avoiding instances that force us into solo play, at least until we're so far above the required level that we can just zap right through the instance.

Its not that we can't solo the instances - we just don't want to - it's not why we jointly purchased and subscribed to this MMO.

... and then there's the bots. ESO has to find a way to get the bots under control.

Depends on what you mean by direction. Do you mean the direction they WANT the game to go? If so, I have no problem with that. If you mean the direction the game is ACTUALLY going, then I'm not thrilled. I personally don't want to play Elder Bots Online...

im mixed opinions on this. I do enjoy the game, but half of it seems to have become max level only modes or vet only modes(PvP has turned into VR8 or up) and from what I heard, people wont even play with you in craglorn unless you are V10 or higher. so idk:/ If the game was more accessible to everyone, and not only the games upper elite, I would say yes.
