Undaunted Pledge Transmute Crystal Improvements
Undaunted pledges now award their Transmute Crystals directly, instead of in the form of a geode.

While this makes things easier if you're under the cap, it completely destroys the ability to store Geodes when needed.

Or just remove the cap, that would be even better.

Can we stop requesting nonsensical things like this. This was done so that they could offer a much better variety of competitive rewards for the given tasks you complete instead of being forced into the geode system where they only have so much wiggle room.

Why are we sitting at a 1000-3000 cap and concerning ourselves with stocking up geodes as if they're gonna go out of stock. At some point you're just collecting them to collect them.

If you really don't like wasting transmute rewards even though it's become increasingly abundant, you can still craft a bunch of item pieces for 25 each saving much more space than the 5-15 these would of provided as an item.

i'll tell the truth takes no time for experienced players to cap out maybe a week or 2 to get from 1000 to 3000 and still have nothing to use them for, but it makes sense for alot of players to get more for thier efforts

Please just make transmutes tradeable... I would happily hand over millions of gold to those of you who are always at the transmute cap. I am an experienced player but I do not enjoy transmute-gaining activities. Surely this would be a win-win.

This is the opposite of an improvement. This means people already capped with transmute stones will get nothing, not even a crate they'd rather not store.

If this change is going permanent, then the cap on transmute stones must be removed to be fair, or at least make the stone crates trade'able and sell'able.

ZOS: please remove the cap AND make them tradeable. The more options players have, the more fun they have. Which means the more time and money they're willing to spend on the game.

I don't even use or earn transmutes more than a few times a year, but I'm still sympathetic to the eternal transmute storage struggle. It's also symptomatic of so many other issues of "artificial hardship" manufactured by the devs that don't need to exist because they mostly make the game less fun for players.

FWIW, I don't particularly care and I usually run at or very near the cap for Transmutes. If I need to clear out some, I'll do some retraiting and deconning to make room, but my most common approach is to just not do the content where I get transmutes if I've got no room to hold transmutes. That said, the nickel and dime ones don't bother me as much as the 25- and 50-crystal geodes and I have to do a bit of planning around how I'm going to dispose of those. But "3K Transmutes and not much use for them" is a pretty common condition.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

as someone who is constantly capped on transmutes and have 3000+ transmutes locked up in geodes (eating almost 200 bag slots across characters), i actually really like this change lol

to be honest i dont want the transmutes, if we cant sell the geodes i dont want them they are just eating up bag space and im almost to the point of just deleting any geodes under 25x ones

It should be expected, as a consequence of this change, that fewer people will do pledges. Even if they do not need the transmutes, the idea that the reward will just piff into the ether is certainly going to discourage some folks from doing them

Such as this one. Khajiit doesn't do anything for free, and khajiit always needs more, even if geodes take up 100s of slots in his inventory across all his characters.

Having a cap on transmute crystals is obnoxious and idiotic at this stage of the game, since most (all?) other currency caps have been removed. This one has been non-stop eso+ member for ~9 years on at least 2 accts, and he could care less if he loses the 'benefit' of extra transmute slot storage if that storage were to become unbounded like all other currencies.

i would actually be more inclined to do pledges now that i wont have garbage small count geodes taking up space for doing them

the transmutes vanishing to the ether and me deleting them are basically the same lol

Agreed. This is the opposite of a QoL change. Some of us are always at the cap so we will get nothing if we do pledges now.

Please ZOS, please remove the cap on transmute stones and unbind them so we can sell or trade them.

You're also playing devils advocate in this thread. Other people have other needs than you, and their needs matter too.

You can get rid of those right now if you wanted to do so. But the difference is that right now it's a choice whether you'd want to keep your geode for when you'd want to use it, or let it get deleted. Changing it removes the player choice in the matter.

This change makes no gameplay difference to the people who don't want them.

It completely deletes the reward for running the content for the people who did.

I don't see why players should all be forced same choice simply to save one group a click.

I don't understand the fuss in this thread.

The tiny geodes are a terrible waste of space. You can store 25 crystals with a reconstructed piece of gear, while one of those geodes would store only 5.

I even have an unpublished addon that auto-opens every sub-25 geode because it simply makes zero sense to keep them. If I want to store transmutes, I'd rather use a reconstructed piece of gear, which holds more and is bankable, rather than a sub-25 geode.

I just pretend that the actual cap is 2900 and not 3000; once I exceed the 2900 "cap", I will either convert the excess into a piece of gear for storage or convert it into nirncrux.

Also, transmutes are being rewarded as "bare" crystals and not as geodes in a lot of other contexts. How were you dealing with transmutes from veteran arenas? Or event boxes? Or Tomes and Veterancy? Adding one more to this column shouldn't change anything, but instead the people in this thread are acting as if this is an entirely new, unprecedented challenge.

(All that having been said, I agree that we should just get rid of the transmute cap completely, and people should upvote this link.)

Remember that this is also doing a second thing: making it so DLC HMs are more rewarding than basegame HMs.

I have been complaining for ages about things like Coral Aerie HM getting around 2 transmutes when something like FGI HM gives 5. That makes zero sense whatsoever.

But regardless, isn't it just a huge waste of inventory space to keep anything smaller than 25-geodes in the first place? Like if you're at the transmute cap, isn't it more efficient to just store the transmutes as stickerbooked Arena weapons at 25 each instead of trying to juggle hundreds of 1-5 geodes?
