Forum layout change - mobile

    Atleast they are trying. The amount of complains about the Desktop forums were extreme the first week or so of release. I guess people just got used to them, and they really arent that horrible that they need to be remade, just some tweaks and new categories.

    I thought the mobile version was fine though.

    Desktop version is terrible but I wont go into why in detail, because this isnt the thread for it, but the sidebar listing forums is sloppy and the "recent topics" is sloppy. I liked the mobile because I was able to see each section and itd nest nicely. Click a link, get a page with subsections, then click for that subforum. No seeing DE or FR either because there's no page that has them in with the EN stuff(this is probably what annoys folks) because forum home has no recent topics page(which shows all threads recently used regardless of language subforum).

    Not that I care about FR and DE(cant read it but <3 me some European languages.. sound so pretty when spoken :) ) but its a key rage on here it seems.

    No clue what you are talking about. Ive been paid customer before but I dont see any disguised ad in any of my usual forums (wich are many).

    Maybe the ad bots are in the forum you are reading (seen it many times).

    Attempting to get the home forum page is a logistics nightmare. That lovely elder scrolls logo up at the top is supposed to do something but whatever it is wont load in a reasonable amount of time for me to see.

    Navigation sucks. The icons on the black popup bar at the bottom make 0 sense.

    Im sure Ill find more.

    I'm using an iphone 5 and I got the exact same issue, it's horrible to use and the black popup bar at the bottom can't be anymore wrongly put annoying at all.

    Not user friendly at all. 0/10 easily.

    iPhone 4S here. Blank screen at community home. Can't view forum sections no matter what I try. I much preferred the previous interface. Only way I can view forums is to select View Full Site but if I back all the way out then I get the unworkable mobile interface again.....argh!!

    My feedback is: 1. Revert back to previous interface. 2. Try actually testing it before you make changes like this in the future.

    Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right spot, but I cannot seem to find any indication/anouncement of this change. This highlights a related issue ZOS needs to work on: communication.

    Im a web dev by training, but you dont want me working on your video game. You dont want their web team on it either.

    Just checked out the new mobile theme. Sorry but have to say its messed up. Blank pages, bits missing, slower loading times.

    I really hope you guys are keeping the Vanilla Forums and just tweaking it. I know they need some work but Vanilla Forums rock. It has so many awesome features that I think a lot of people don't even know about. I'd be very sad if you guys switched over to another type. :fearful:

    The first change I like to see, both for mobile and desktop is an option to select language at top of page. Once selected the entire page will be in selected language. No more French, German or English on same page.

    Unless you plan on making a mobile version for each mobile operating system, then it needs to work as the desktop. You also select language and that is what you see on the page. I never use the mobile and always go to full site. Simple reason being I have a hard time reading the mobile version and need the full site so I can zoom in or out as needed to read the forums. So if you can make the mobile site zoomable like the full site then maybe I will use the mobile version.

    Mobile sires are designed to be simple and easy to navigate and typically arent OS specific.

    The ONLY place youll find foreign language threads with English threads are:

    Server status(because separating it isnt necessary)
    Discussion home oages, where all three Game Discussion subforum nests are located
    Recent topics list

    Segregating the entire forum by language of thread isnt going to happen. EN is suggested/enforced in EN forums. Other users coming here often read EN because their language isnt supported, they speak english and want to use the english forum, or all of the above.

    Hi :)
    1. The @ZOS_AlanG‌ system is my first. It helps us keep people involved in discussions and lets others know if we intended comments for them or if we wanted to just let them know we wanted them to be a part of it. Very helpful.
    2. The tracking system with favourites/markers (the (*)). I use this a lot to help keep track of things I'm interested in as well as posts I've made to try and help others.
    3. The "Ask A Question" button on the main page is a very powerful tool. The problem with the one we have here is that it only lets us ask questions on very few forums. We need to allow it to post to more sections. It's powerful because not only does it automatically mark the thread as a question but it lets us mark an actual answer. This lets anyone else who could have similar issues instantly see what the answer was. It could potentially be helpful to your team as well to see a quick question/answer to lets say, a tech support related incident. Compiling statistics could be easier and if certain threads with FAQ's and answers were stickied, you could build an incredible FAQ section created by us.
    4. At the far right, the shortcuts to Favourites & Unanswered questions. I love this because it allows us quick access to the things we marked plus a quick look at seeing if there's any questions we can help other players with.
    5. The notification system in our profile as well. I use this multiple times per day. It goes hand in hand with the above mentioned system (the @ system and tracking system).
    6. And lastly, though not really that important, but the smiley face system here is better than other forums. They have a comprehensive list of feelings, emotions, thoughts, and even a few fun ones. I think the majority of people don't even know about them!


    We have so many tools with Vanilla Forums to keep the community involved. I think this is just as important as having a solid working layout.

    Edit: I can't believe I forgot to mention this!

    The Agree, Insightful, LOL options at the bottom are honestly helpful. It's nice helpful to see when others agree with what you're thinking or if something you said was insightful etc. I tend to use the agree button kind like a poll. I click agree when I really feel it's important for you guys to see that we agree with something somebody has said.
