The only thing these screenshots show once again that corrosive is a problem and needs to be nerfed strong or entirely removed. Also keep in mind that all these screenshots of 20k whips hardly ever did 20k damage. Most of the time it's a 20k hit on <5k hp due to execute damage.

Nah, 15-19k whips casually with multiple defensive sets- whips that are being proc'd by essentially spamming an infinite sustain move and keeping up basic buffs are a problem all the same.

Just a handful of years ago, if a NB was doing that much damage in defensive gear with an insta-cast, no travel time bow- people would have been screaming to hekk and back.

Besides, corrosive full-pen has been a thing since about as long as I can remember with DK. Only now it's a significant issue... no.

This thread is so funny, “Subclassed Dragonknight is stronger than ‘pure’ DK” what a great argument.

Idk what Skill Line you’d trade off for a 10% increase in efficiency at everything you do, the one providing unlimited sustain and the strongest Spammable in the game? Or the one giving 50% ranged damage prevention baked into a snare removal AoE knockback that also provides Major Expedition to a class known for moving slow?

    rgm27pmjskty.jpeg

Even before Class Mastery, the skills and now passives of Dragonknight were too overloaded to justify switching Skill Lines and now it’s just overkill.

    With Class Mastery though?

Nobody is using Subclassing, even the classes who used to benefit the most from it, like Necromancer. My favorite system and I can’t justify even touching it out of the insane power creep Masteries have brought to this game.

Removing Class Mastery from reworked Classes is not only logical, but necessary in a PvP environment.

Not when the particular class in question is stomping everything so heavily there’s no contest… even without the Masteries.

When Warden comes up for Rework, it too can have its Class Masteries removed with Battle Spirit… and that is by far the easiest solution to balancing 1.0 Classes to 2.0s without causing irreparable damage to Reworked Classes as we await them all to finish.

Yeah that can all be addressed without deleting class masteries for DK. No need to deprive a class of a new system that everyone else gets to enjoy when there are a myriad of ways balance can be addressed otherwise.

You’ll never talk sense to the people on these forums, they just wanna advocate for nerfs for the sake of yapping.

The state of the game before the rework of dk and ww speaks for itself, the subclassed builds prior were far more oppressive and toxic, it wasn’t even close.

This is why I posted that link, the developers understand subclassing is damaging the brand. I actually advocated for the signet ring staying for this very reason also, to give some cheap kills to less skilled players that can’t really play dk even after the rework they weren’t a threat to good players and made the rest feel relevant while we wait for the warden refresh

DK could be adjusted in a great number of ways that doesn't include deleting a system that everyone else gets to have fun with. Other classes can be adjusted too to bring them up to par. I'd be pretty irritated if an entire system was deleted from my class just because it's a bit too strong (not a DK main btw), rather than just making some sensible number adjustments.

All the issues you've mentioned can be address without deleting class masteries for DK. I imagine class masteries are now a permanent system.. doubtful they'll all be removed once class reworks are complete. So it really doesn't make sense to delete them for one class when there are other ways to address the issue (i.e. nerf the sustain on Core of Flame). You're right I don't see much of an argument here.

It’s only a real issue now cause the refresh delay. Nerfing DK will throw us back into the subclass meta which was way worse tbh. I’m tired of the DK meta, don’t get me wrong, but I’d rather live in this than the mutt meta we endured for a solid year.

Here’s a thought! Adjust some of the other class masteries like NB/Temp/Necro/Arc (NOW). That’s what they originally said they’d do, adjust them… it’s obvious which classes are suffering.

Only since 2021. Before then it didn't work with Whip, really only worked with D Swing after Heroic Slash's big nerf in 2019, and before 2021 Titanic Cleave could only stack up to like 5 times. Nobody played StamDK after Warden came out. In 2019 I was like one of two people in Xbox NA BGs who had Corrosive slotted.

But prior to Hybridization I supported the idea of giving Magic Pen to Corrosive, at the time MagDKs were suffering badly and near extinction.

It is because they can't accept that dying is a part of PvP and everything should be nerfed so they can win every time.

There’s difference between accepting you die in pvp, and having to face bgs of dks that take little damage & are able to constantly renew health plus do decent damage.

Yea your guess is as good as mine, I have no idea what the next refresh will be like power wise. TBH it’s hard to imagine playing ESO for another 6+ months in the current environment. But for me, it’s even harder to imagine playing ESO if it shifts back into the subclass garbage meta we just (sort of) got away from.

Yeah I mean no way they can adjust more than 1 class at the time, right. Or make the reworks not turn reworked classes into completely overpowered versions of themselves. Not possible.

As for this being 8 months ago, their message, I dont see why that even matters, subclass builds in the hands of top players still outperform pureclass dk and werewolf, and is still an issue for balance to the game. That the initiative was 8 months ago is pretty irrelevant. Nerfing pureclass dk and ww to a state that cant compete with subclassing at all is not just counterintuitive to zos' goal but its also likely to one shot the game's lifespan considering thats what nearly happened BEFORE the existing layoffs.

You think you're mad now lol if we return to subclass builds being the norm of what you see itll be far worse than the meta is now. Adapt, its really not hard to now especially.

Again, I don't know if reading isn't your strong suit, but you have still not substantiated a single thing I misunderstood and you quoted an 8 month old post to "prove" your point from when before class mastery was out. If you want to act as if 40k whips can't happen while being buffed in a ballgroup, again, because you objectively just don't understand the game, I would love for you to go in a full 12 man ballgroup of your choosing, pick the absolute best group you can find in the entire game, and my 8 man group will walk over you and whip you for 40k any time you aren't lying on the ground waiting for a res.

Saying I should fine a new game to play just because of factual damage numbers you can get hit with while being ballgroup buffed is as laughable as all the other things you've said. At this point, I'm beginning to believe you are a PSYOP who's goal is to argue in such bad faith and give such bad points that you make DK players who think DK shouldn't be nerfed look so bad that they are more likely to do so.

You can get hit while being buffed in a ballgroup for 40k whips when people aren't even running corrosive. You don't know the game.

If this is you, you should find a new game to play

If you get hit by a 40k wip i hate to brake it to you but its a player issue or a build issue or both. I once got hit by an 18k wip i went back and watch the replay of the clip and i noticed i got greedy and let my buffs ran out to do some extra dmg, shame on me and after that i kept my buffs on..

I hate to "brake" it to you but you can hit someone with 35k armor for a 40k whip without corrosive.

I was bored so I slapped monomyth, rallying cry BB, orders wrath and bloodspawn on my DK and I'm hitting 16k+ whips. Full combo is unavoidable and hits for around 40k.
DK is so brainless I went back to my Necro after 20 Min

Everyone that plays pvp and reads this part of the thread with yall talkin about you got hit with a 40k whip and claiming someone else cant play at a high level, yea they're just gonna laugh and move on.

They are going to see me ask you 5 times what I misunderstood and you never respond and just skip over it.

They are going to see you claiming DK isn't OP and then trying to use subclassing as the reason, even though DK is the strongest when subclassed into as well as the strongest pure class, it is just the strongest PvP spec, you miss out not being a DK more than you would for not being any other class.

If they aren't new players, and it's funny because you also know the group I run, they will see you claiming to know so much yet your only "facts" was an 8 month old quote from pre class mastery that only weakened your point, meanwhile I have fought against and run groups that have hit players with 40k whips since the class refresh.

You lack any critical engagement with anything I have brought up, you even said "lol I know I'm right" as a rationale to not engage in conversation where you had nothing to say.

    Laughable.

Because it is obvious lol and I already responded, you keep comparing dk pure class to non refreshed pure classes... that i have to spell that out to you mr i take 40k whips is so annoying I hate having to waste breath.

Duh, yes, dk is better than other pure class builds that havent been refreshed... the point is zos wants the refreshed classes, eventually all of them to be on par with subclassed builds, and really pure class dk is still not better than subclassed builds, which is why most of the sweats you see arent playing them, they're all majority still on subclassed builds.

The point of the masteries added is to bring more classes up to that level, give incentive to not just subclass. And yet even with that intent, which is still the intent 8 months later and will be according to them years from now, people are still playing subclass builds at the highest level.

My own subclass build is way stronger than my pure dk. I dont want to subclass though, I love pure dk. I only subclassed when I felt I absolutely had to prior to the refresh, and now thats no longer the case.

So yea, obviously compared to non refreshed classes dk is stronger. Again, the intent is to bring them all up to subclassed level. So if you wanna ask anything, ask for buffs for the other classes, not nerf this nerf that.

    Spelled out for you.

Now seriously put on some impen and use the crit resist cp if you need to, slap on rallying.... if you're gettin 40k whips slapped on you, your build is severely unoptimized for pvp.
