Would you want ZOS to bring Grey Host back before the Vengeance test ends ?

It's a test and it needs participants. GH will be back after the test is done. People are overreacting as usual.

Except I didn’t buy and I don’t actively support eso to test things for ZOS, once again a PvEr unaffected by the situation comes into the forums pretending to know how the end game PvP community is supposed to feel about the situation.

No. It's a week test. As someone who plays for 10-12 hours a week and at least 9 of those hours are spent PvPing in BGs or Cyro, I'm really enjoying the current ruleset. Allowing sets let's some theory crafting / build and character personality, while also feeling far more balanced. If they changed the main Vengeance campaign to this ruleset, I'd be tempted to leave Greyhost for this.

If Vengeance is good enough that people would move there by choice, it does not need everyone locked out of everywhere else to fill up.

The "it's only a week" argument also stopped holding up a while ago. It's never just one week. These tests have been running on a regular schedule for over a year now, and all those weeks add up to months of not being able to play our home campaigns. Each one is treated as a small ask in isolation, but nobody seems to be counting the total.

A test being a test doesn't mean participation has to be mandatory, especially with nothing offered in return. A Vengeance exclusive Golden Pursuit would pop lock it in a day and nobody would lose access to anything they pay for.

What's happening instead is that I know multiple PvP guilds that have stopped playing entirely for the week. People move to other games and some don't come back. That is a strange price to pay for data ZOS could collect another way.

I'm actually enjoying a bit of a break from PVP. There's new quests to do, builds to perfect, and I've been running IA and some Vet dungeons/trials which has been a nice change of pace. There will always be a war to fight when Greyhost resumes in a couple days.

    So much this.

If vengeance was what people wanted ZOS wouldn't have any problems getting people to play it. If vengeance was worth ZOS' time to develop people would be flooding it with participation. They wouldn't have to remove the game we pay to have access to and strong arm us into playing vengeance because there are no other options.

Thank youall for expressing your heartfelt opinions, the goal of this post was no so much to achieve an outcome but to gather your very low satisfaction rates with this absolutely AWFUL campaign that ZOS shoves down our throat every now and then, with nothing to show for. For now a WHOLE YEAR straight we have been lab rats for one or two weeks with our eso+ subscriptions sometimes going to waste after taking a break for the duration of the tests. Grey Host has not known any significant improvement, and we are not getting what we are promised after the layoffs.

@ZOS_Kevin I hope you can take a good read of this thread and relay the overwhelming miscontent of PVPers to the team. It's truly heartbreaking to see yet another great game go to waste because of it's mismanagement, this is quite litteraly the same scenario as Destiny 2 and Guild Wars 2. Please let people enjoy this game so long that it exists, our support is to be earned not taken for granted.

So, I ended up playing Vengeance this weekend... some stuffs like the base tri pot given, no need to purchase sieges that would fill your inventory space, new Alliance War skill line are likeable. And to a degree, standardized WD/SD is okay. But, it ain't Gray Host. Can't wait for the actual campaign to comeback.

It’s not a scientific study; it’s a community petition because people are frustrated that the main PvP campaign was taken offline for a test they didn't ask for. If people think the OP is wrong, the 'No' button works just fine regardless of the narrative in the comments. ESO forum polls have always functioned as community petitions or barometers for sentiment among highly engaged players, and believe it or not, while there is no quantitative way to measure right and wrong when it comes to opinions, there is a way to measure what the majority opinion is, and it's very clear.

I think what @DoofusMax is criticising is the incorporated bias towards OPs opinion.

... and probably the fact that OP lacks the manners to accept different backgrounds and opinions.

But judging by the number of agrees and awesomes under OPs posts, this seems to be acceptable behaviour in the PvP community.

You actually care about how many agrees and awesomes a post has?

Don't worry, I can tell you that PvP is less toxic than "high level" PvE. Trust me. PvE is way more toxic in the game. In this game it's a special kind of toxic too. Not once in PvP did anyone refuse to play with me, and even the enemies sometimes help me test out bugs or other things to report.

There's always going to be outliers, and it seems the "PvPers" here are dedicated extra to protecting their version of the game they align with. But a forum is not going to be an echo chamber and disagreements will occur. I laugh when I respond on these forums, even though the tone may not seem that way. If you look at the language closely, you will see something strange in nearly all of my comments.

Also, forums not representing anything besides people dedicated to:

    1. Protecting their cheese
    2. Protecting their interest above others
    3. Pretending that what they want won't be deterimental to the game
    4. Sprinkling bait and hoping the moderators don't catch them with a warning

Me? I don't protect my cheese. Well, I would if they said they were nerfing siege.

They’re not fixing Gray Host. It’s been completely sidelined in favor of Vengeance.

At this point we’re not even asking for performance improvements anymore. I’m asking them to give the campaign the bare minimum amount of attention: keep it online, include it in balance updates, and address the major issues the community has been pointing out for months—ball groups, Dragonknights, and werewolves.

If ZOS truly wants to continue developing Vengeance, then do it on its own merits. Stop taking away the game mode we actually pay to play every time you want more beta testers. Keep Gray Host up, let people enjoy the product they’ve supported for years, and do your job as game developers instead of forcing your most loyal PvP players into a mode they never asked for.

Because we all know what is really happening. They are going to just try to solve all their GH problems (performance, ball groups, no balance changes in years, etc) by just Alt F4 what made ESO PvP great and putting it in with this... sanitizes... generic.. "10th boring Hero shooter slop" equivalent of MMO PvP..

Vengence is like Concord and High guard had a baby if we are being honest with ourself. No one wants this except the few, who you can count on two hands, that will die on the hill of this is the greatest game ever.

Numbers don't lie. There is a reason GH was shut down. If Vengence could stand on it's own they wouldn't have had to shut it down.

Plain and simple. They are walking themself right into another U35 but on the PvP side of the house.. why... I honestly can't answer that. There are literally thousands and thousands of comments on the forums for PvP feedback and how Vengence is a death sentence for their game (PvP wise).

How knows, maybe they want it that way... so they can focus on other things. I know they need some help making the Crown Store blog posts now so...

Good on you, me and a couple of friends just switched to Albion for the week and probably for the rest of ESO's short remaining life. It's a shame that the game's most active, competitive and loyal playerbase is being pushed to it's limits and driven away.

It’s mostly PvE players chasing double AP and a small subset of PvPers who have convinced themselves that steamrolling people in a zerg is the pinnacle of skilled gameplay.

Yeah, I don't get that mentality either. We're paying customers not free playtesters. We paid to use a product not to test it, and ESO isn't cheap either. It's expensive in both time and money.

Also, Microsoft is a multi-trillion, with a T, mega corporation, and ranked 4th or 5th largest in the world, which makes all the guilt tripping and customer blaming for the state of the game/PvP even more cringe.

Well, to be completely honest, one could say this about every player of every game out there. But what you might call nothing another player might call something they enjoy doing.

We all put time, effort, and money into the games we play for…nothing? Enjoyment? You can decide if it’s worth it for yourself, not for other people. Saying other people are doing it for nothing is really over the top.
