No reason to doom or get hopeful over it, with how little information we have to go on with this.

This is good news for TES VI. IMHO ZOS has the best competences to create a good ES game. If bethesda had it in them the game would have been already released.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an Elder Scrolls fan, played those games since Daggerfall, loved them all, came to ESO for that reason, but now when I compare the complexity of ESO, the size of its wolrd, the amount of lore, and every other things, ES games feel like they are only small stories in this franchise. They are like limited childhood toys compared to the real living world of Tamriel that ESO has. And the big part of ES games succes was always the feeling you dive into a whole living world. After playing ESO.. a single player game can never achieve that immersion for me, at least not on some levels that MMO is capable of.

Not really. This reads as if they’re being relegated into being a support studio for the main Elder Scrolls franchise. It does not say that Bethesda will be growing and supporting ESO specifically. If anything, this solidifies concerns that more resources will be taken from the game.

Back then, you made your money by creating games and moving on to making more games. Then somewhere along the way, it became possible to charge extra for DLC, which didn't require an entirely new game.

But nowadays, games like TES V: Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 primarily get their revenue from in-game microtransactions. You can think of the price of the game itself as just an entry fee; you can only buy the game once, but you can buy Creation Credits an unlimited number of times.

Never heard of the infamous horse armour DLC? Or Knights of the Nine? Or the other DLC they released for Oblivion? They've been monetizing that way since Oblivion. That didn't stop them from releasing Skyrim 5 years later.

Nobody (including Asha Sharma, apparently) wants another decade between games, just so they can sell creation content. Because of the nature of TES, they'll still sell plenty of creation content for the earlier games. People will still be buying creation content for Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Starfield when TES6 is out. I'm not including Oblivion because I think most players replaying that are playing the remastered version, which doesn't support mods.
The only reason we got TES V so quickly after TES IV was because TES IV wasn't equipped with this new monetization model.

Yes, it was. They didn't put out as many creations as they do today, but Oblivion has paid additional content. See above.

Anyway, we'll have to see. But my reading is that "focusing on TES and Fallout" means "get games out faster."

Until a Remaster is released (twice!).

That looks like bad news to me. I'm not seeing where ESO is mentioned as a priority or really even mentioned much at all. That's a really bad sign.
