Drop Rate for Coffees - Night Market

What gives? I probably farmed like 10 of the cofters on 5 different toons and got none of the collectible gems used to make the relics to progress. Meanwhile I have friends who got one on the first try to progress to the next dungeons.

I've finished every possible daily. Didn't get any. Nothing really left to do today.

To me it seems like a big oversight to have part of the progression be RNG.

The drop does need to be increased. Especially if you need it to progress to other areas in the Market. I did manage to get the coffer one for Glass Splinter, so they are dropping. I got mine from doing the max amount of kills for the vamp khajiit's quest. That quest tiers, so you start by killing 25, then you do an optional 50, then another final optional of 75 kills. I did the max and the splinter dropped when I turned it on. No idea if doing that increased the chances or not? Just thought everyone should know how I got it, and that they are dropping. Just rarely...

Only coffers with "Night Market" in the name can drop splinters.

There are 6 quests total can drop splinters, and all of them are acquired in the plaza, not in the districts:

Quest ID 7381, "Blood on the Sands"
Quest ID 7400, "Argent Eradication"
Quest ID 7403, "Brazen Eradication"
Quest ID 7404, "Representing the Faction"
Quest ID 7405, "Fleet and Swift"
Quest ID 7406, "Keen of Mind"

So those minor quests that you see in each district? Those don't count.

Finally, as a point of reference, I got my 3 splinters after 17 quests (so yes, this required doing the quests on multiple characters). Within my group I was pretty much middle-of-the-pack in terms of luck; half the people were luckier and got it sooner, and half the people were less lucky.

Thanks for the update. That's quite brutal indeed. I don't have extra characters to run on at the moment. Probably won't be getting any further any time soon.

Well, it was much worse on PTS. Originally, every splinter was RNG. Now, it's only the "weak enemies" and coffer splinters. And considering that this is a 7-week thing, I think that's more than fine.
