Is a UI Modernation being worked on for Console?

I saw some talk about certain elements of the UI being worked on but nothing about whether console will get the main UI touched? I play on PlayStation but have been messing around on PC and the UI windows with the inventory, character stats, chat window, everything just looks more modern and cleaner than on console which is the same as it was at launch.

With Crossplay coming down the road can we get Console's UI updated to match closer to PC?

Funny you should say that, because the prevailing theory among PC players is that the new 'modern' UI totally sucks and makes ESO look too much like a generic futuristic game and too similar to the sanitized console UI as opposed to something that looked and felt like it belonged in a fantasy game.

There's a reason that there's a really popular PC addon to revert the UI back to what it was before.

personally i think the gamepad user interface looks more modern than PC's default ui.
it is certainly more accessible to me as PC's ui is really tiny comparably.

The "modernization" of the PC UI is entirely an aesthetic change with no impact on functionality, layout, etc. PC's UI had this skeuomorphic grunge that some people liked but that most people hated.

For all the complaints on the forums about the PC UI modernization, there are way more people who liked the change.

In any case, the console UI was never peppered with this skeuomorphic dirt, so in a way, console has been "modern" this whole time and the PC "modernization" was an effort to bring PC in line with console.

Again, modernization was purely an aesthetic thing. There are vast differences in the functionality and ease of use of the KB/M UI versus the gamepad UI, but that's an entirely separate and unrelated topic.

I'm on a 4k OLED monitor with a PS5 Pro and the UI windows, text window, attribute bars, skill icons, ect don't match up with the image quality of the game now. The windows, assets, text, skill icons, ect look like they're just the originals in 1080p stretched up to 4k. A UI refresh could make the game on console look newer and not 11+ years old.

The PC modernization didn't change the resolution of the textures. Literally all it did was get rid of the grunge.

Higher resolutions will have an impact on things like memory usage, which is a concern for older-gen consoles.

When Crossplay drops in 2027 or whenever then that would be a great time for them to drop support for the last gen consoles and they’d have more memory to work with.

BDO dropped support for PS4 and Xbox One last year.

as someone that plays both PSN & PC you dont want what your asking for as PC M&KB looks ugly as all get up and very unfriendly to use controller UI looks and feels better and even add-ons do better job with theirs so please no or if so make it so we as players can switch it to what one we like best on console...
