U48 Abilities Randomly Not Doing Damage

    I am having the same issue. It happens about 20% of the time when fighting world bosses. After a while, my skills just seem to be hitting air and won't damage the boss anymore, but weirdly, I can keep killing the adds...

    Happened to me fighting the twin tiger world boss in Grahtwood Tuesday night, and again earlier today fighting the roly poly world boss in Solitude. Direct damage attacks stop working (even light attacks, I believe). AOEs appear to work normally. But only versus the boss. The adds in the roly poly fight I could hit no problem.

    EDIT: Just want to preface the below by mentioning that this was in a little-to-no lag environment. I had no issues whatsoever in any fights leading up to this.

    I went and got my own examples tonight. Took me less than 30 minutes to encounter this bug in cyrodiil.

    In the first video you can see that the 3rd player in this fight takes no damage from anything other than bashes. I can't hit them with direct abilities, aoes, status effects, weaves, ults, etc. You can also see that moments before I had no issues hitting the other players, and not featured in the video is me going on to have no issues hitting the next player I encountered.

    Even worse, I did a little testing with this player after we both realized we couldn't hit eachother. When I cast my ulfsilds, you can see that it works completely fine when I'm out of range - showing it's animation and refreshing the minor intellect buff I have on it. But as soon as I move into range, the skill not only fails to show an animation or deal damage - but it still drains my magicka while not re applying my minor intellect. So this bug is effectively negating my PBAOE skills as well.

    @ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_BrianWheeler Please acknowledge this. This is genuinely one of the worst bugs I've ever seen on the game.

    And just so ZOS knows, this isn't limited to PvP.

    I just ran normal Black Drake Villa as a dps arcanist/templar/nightblade. Neither Cephilarch's Flail nor Radiant Glory would work at all on bosses. I would press the button and literally nothing would happen. Fatecarver worked so I was limited to that plus light attacks. No tentacles, no execute beam.

    So incredibly frustrating. Won't be doing any dungeons or trials until this animation/combat disaster gets rolled back or corrected.

    We had this "feature" affect our healers and tanks in our vHMSE run last night. Needless to say that run didn't go very well :wink:

    Hi all, wanted to follow up on the abilities not doing damage issue. We identified the cause as an incorrect server setting on our end and not related to the Combat Animation Memory Reduction work. The team is working on a solution now and we will have more information once we have an ETA on timing for the fix.

    Okay, we have an update. We just pushed an update to resolve the incorrect setting. So this issue should now be resolved and impacted skills should now be dealing proper damage again.

    The plan is to have this resolved for console as well. So this should not be an issue on console U48 launch.

    And don't forget how we're constantly getting into the bugged state where you can only break free instead of block. The rate of that bug occurring has increased by 1000%.

    This was fixed this morning during today's maintenance. We hotfixed as part of the maintenance.

    Any hotfix planned for the Streak/Break Free bug? Because it is equally as ruinous for PvP formats as the weapon passive bug was for PvE. In any PvP format, you are all but guaranteed to get that bug within, at maximum, 30 minutes of playing. Your options are then to leave the game mode or "hope" that you crash, both of which effectively end your night.

    I can provide a clip of the effects of the bug if need be (though it has existed for ages).

    The patch did... something... to resurrect this bug and raise it from a comparative rarity to a gameplay fixture.

    It would be a VERY good messaging step to demonstrate support for the PvP community to prioritize fixing the bug with as many resources (and on the same timeline) as were made available to the weapon traits bug.
