5am - 11pm UK time...so I won't be able to log in that day. I suspect the same will be true for a lot of people in Europe.

At least it's before the event starts.

Extraordinarily long scheduled maintenances usually always take longer on top...if I were zos id just make it easy and send everyone the log in reward and seals by default...

For EU this basically means youd have to log in in the middle of the night...

I hadn't seen the announcement yet, so thank you for this thread giving me a heads up; now I'll be sure to plan on doing my daily stuff much earlier in the day. I feel bad for all of the players who will miss out of a day of gameplay due to this, but let's hope it will fix some of the bugs that have been causing problems. I'm also guessing that this maintenance might be for two reasons-- to post bug fixes, as well as to prepare for the event-- so that might be why it's scheduled to run for 18 hours.

It says 'Maintenance', not 'Patch Maintenance.'

So hardware repairs/upgrades, not bug fixes.

That explains why it is a really long window.

I have empathy for those who will not be able to log on at all those days.

Crikey, I guess 'all day maintenance' is a thing now.

Just a thought, if this is going to be normalised they need to update the umpteen systems that they designed to be 'locked' to a daily schedule to account for it.

The current 'method' of making minor ad-hoc 'concessions' - very much while rolling their eyes and only if the peasants make enough of a racket - when these tasks that they rigidly scheduled in this fashion cannot be fulfilled due to the fact that the servers were taken down for what effectively amounts to 'the whole day' is very much suboptimal.

Players should somehow be compensated for a maintenance lasting this long. Almost a whole day of downtime, which will probably be extended for whatever reason? The only grass I wanna touch is Tamriel’s grass, tyvm.

The length of the maintenance is unusually enough that the questions and concerns are totally predictable. I'm surprised ZoS hasn't already chimed in to address the reason and any considerations regarding daily rewards and endeavors.

Some years ago, after an big patch, they said maintenance will not take that long anymore. It also was like this for a few months and now we are back to this ultra long times, which are even longer than ever before...

I'd guess the explanation lies in the dozens of bug reports littering the forums since the last two patches.
Starting with the half-finished UI, most likely ending in yet another odd occurence of the block bug because I just BET that thing is still lingering somewhere. Waiting to strike.

So yeah, I suspect it's gonna rain bugfixes. I hope so. I really bloody do.

It's normal maintenance, no patch maintenance. There aren't any bugfixes and no new updates to download.

Not really. The pursuit reward took only an hour to complete even for inexperienced players. Vengeance was packed with hour+ wait times outside prime time for the entire week it was up. If people were only in it for the pursuit reward, it would've lost all steam within 2 days.
