Wednesday is IMO the best day to schedule maintenance.

It is the least likely day in the week to be a bank holiday and given that events start on a Thursday, Finish on a Tuesday and with the exception of Anniversary/New Life (which generally doesn't include a maintenance because of dev holidays anyway) only include one full week is the easiest to schedule for without interfering.

Alas is generally consoles that get this 'coveted' spot. Maybe if crossplay is rolled out we can all have regular maintenance scheduled on Wednesdays.

Lmao. Wow. When the servers went down I thought they'd be down for 6 - 8 hours or so.

18 HOURS IS WIIIIIIIILD.

Also I tried PTS last night and you can play Solstice even if you don't own Solstice...

And mucking around in that for a few minutes is what convinced me to buy the content pass.

But I'm pretty sure access to that stuff is meant to be locked for people who don't own it because you can just play all the story content on PTS without paying.. you miss out on unlocks because it's just a test server that gets wiped but some people not gonna care.

Also, if it takes 18 hours to do maintenance for PC servers, imagine how long it would be if we had crossplay. That's a lot more characters and accounts. Do you want 2-3 day maintenance? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?

You dont perform maint in place this is sad. you make them in test then just port them to the live servers like any other update. This is not normal for DB changes at all.

because thats not what they are doing. they are doing backend database upgrades. which either means hardware or software that doesn't have to do with bugs or gameplay.

I think there is a valid point raised here.. If you have an eso+ subscription you should get the time added on to your account if the maintenance is going to be this long. I mean at the moment we are currently paying for a day when we cannot play the game.

Well i was wondering how it was going, and if there was slim chance it might be finished ahead of time?

I know these things need to be done, which is fine, and it also takes time to do. That I understand well. But hoping it will be up before midnight my time as the planned end.

If it has to be extended a for a few hours, I am OK with that too, but an interim update would be of some use I feel.

I didn't see the announcement about maintenace and I did login after work right now, it seems there is a lot of ppl logged in as well. Will there be rollback?

EU maintenance is complete, per the announcement at the top of the forums. It ended earlier than they expected, but they wouldn’t have marked it complete if they didn’t consider it over. You should be fine.

The price is the same no matter how many days there are in the month, so the logic that they owe us for the missing play time doesn't really make sense to me. Do I like it that I can't play when I normally would? No, I don't like it at all, but I really don't feel that they owe us anything - they are trying to make the game better, which in the long run benefits both us and them.

I'm fine if they want to give us a couple of unbound scribing skills to sell on the market to make up for long maint.
