What subclassing builds are you planning on using?

This is not a thread for discussing general feedback on subclassing. If you don't plan on making one or don't like it, there's plenty of other places for that feedback.

For those of you who are planning on using it, what are you planning on making? Anything cool? Thematic? Anything from the OG games you're planning on recreating?

I'm considering making a dark summoner using necromancer and nightblade for my Sorcerer, but I haven't decided yet.

I also kind of want to make an elementalist who uses fire, frost, and shock magic.

How about you?

I'm hoping to use my main Templar again. I will have to wait and see how things turn out with subclassing and the new mythic. If not I'm sure my Sorc or Arc will work out.

We kind of need a lot more skill styles (hopefully earnable). Like a golden gate carver etc to match a Templar theme.

Ohhh skill styles would be such a cool way to make this work better!

My first attempt with Subclassing will be an Elementalist as well, using a sorcerer as a base class with Stormcalling and adding in Frost and Fire lines. This is a brand new character I’m leveling up now just for this. If it doesn’t work out or I don’t like it for some reason, I do have a back up plan using an existing Dragonknight that’s just never found his place in the 10 years I’ve had him - I’ve changed his backstory and the appearance and even has alliance several times over the years, but still never come up with anything I really liked like I have for my other characters.

My second attempt will be working a Necromancy line into an existing Nightblade and calling it a Ghostblade or Spiritblade. This sounds fun, especially since I don’t have to call them Redblades anymore thanks to the Permaglow fix!

Beyond that, nothing else has really yet come to mind. 🙂

Personally, none. Unless I have to (which I will, sadly)

I built my characters around their Classes. I like them having the abilities they do. For some of my alts, other Class's stuff may make sense, but I've actually found a way to get their sets and Scribed skills to cover the gaps for them - like my Elemental Monk Maormer character is a full sorc, but based on the sets and skills I gave him I can have him toss out ice, fire, wind, rock, lightning, and water all at the same time and without Subclassing at all.

I'll see if I change my mind, but I like my characters using all of their own Class skills, and I don't feel like changing them.

Now for my main, there will probably be a time my raid lead tells me to Subclass for it, but I won't unless I have to. He's the main character I'd never want to take on any other abilities at all.

Pets and beam. Pets on my arcanist, and beam on my sorc. Though I think arcanist is just going to completely dominate all roles with subclassing. It's the most flexible base from which to do anything, really.

None if I can get away with it but it looks like it will be mandatory for end game due to pure classes being gutted to balance multi-classing, so as a healer main likely some mixture of warden/templar/night blade unless a better combo is identified by the theory crafters. I can see arcanist's healing beam being a strong contender to push out the Templar skill line especially in fights like Falgraven, Loke, or Yaseyla.

I really wonder what combos of skill lines will be mandatory for each healer position in order to keep synergies.

You should probably get on that sooner rather than later so you have him ready for prime time with all of your skill lines, skill points, and skill morphs ready when the patches to end all patches drops.

Oh, I main Necro. That was irony. But I admire your optimism. It’s the kind of thing Sacrificial Bones and its Grave Lord’s Sacrifice morph could both use.

As a Werewolf player, I don't have to deal with picking skill lines with active abilities that make sense or fit well together in a rotation, since I'll never use them anyway (as I'm never in human form) so I'll use Aedric Spear + Storm Calling for damage dealing in PvE. My third skill line will probably be Herald of the Tome for the Harnessed Quintessence passive, which can proc off of Hircine's Rage. It gives higher DPS than Grave Lord with the Rapid Rot passive does.

I've got a few ideas for PvP Werewolf utilizing Subclassing too, but I keep those builds private. Just look at a skill line's passives, since that's all Werewolf can use, and you'll find combinations that can augment your build.

The subclassing preview article had an image of a Warden + Arcanist + Templar: will be my main and couple of alts.

I'll use the Polar Bear on all my characters.

Having issues with my hands, I'll try to combine the only playstyles I can do in one Oakensoul build: Heavy attacks, Beam, Jab, passive Health Regen from a never activated Bear, Banner - should make the game easier on my nerves while also being more varied.

Armor sets will change often since I like to experiment and not just aim to min/max.

I don't do end game so I can just stick to one class if I like, or I can do something fun, so this is what I was thinking too as it looks the most enjoyable. Although it may annoy some players on my daily random. And annoy other players when I go to town to do my dailies.

for my main character, a Bosmer Warden:

    Elementalist
    - Ardent Flame
    - Storm Calling
    - Winter's Embrace

    All Pets
    - Animal Companions
    - Daedric Summoning
    - Grave Lord or Living Death

    Healer
    - Curative Runeforms
    - Green Balance
    - Restoring Light

my solo damage build will probably be
    - Animal Companions
    - Daedric Summoning
    - Herald of the Tome

my Vampire/Thief and Maximum Speed(for Housing and Resource farming) builds:
    - Shadow, for Cloak's Invisibility and the Recovery from the Refreshing Shadows passive.
    - Storm Calling, for Bolt Escape.
    - Animal Companions, for Betty Netch.

not sure what else. haven't figured out how i might change my Tank build and my Stamina/Werewolf build.

Still trying to decide. I have spent ages mentally plotting out skill lines and such, but cannot come to a concrete conclusion.
This is partially due to that fact that I am not certain what theme I want my character to have. Dark Witch? Warrior? Something with a Bosmer because Bosmer are god-tier for fashion? I cannot decide.
Whatever I settle on, it is mandatory that it doesn't have janky skill animations (jabs, flurry, grim focus) and that it is capable of doing my usual thing, which is soloing tough content like DLC dungeons.

Anyone wanna give me some inspiration?

I have a few in mind:

For my PVE 1 bar build, I think I am going to move forward with a pet setup combining Necro and Warden into my Sorc pet oakenbuild. 6 spell slots (+ult), 6 pets.

For my PVE 2 bar non-pet build, I think I am swapping in the Nightblade Assassin line, and the DK Ardent flame line. I really like the idea of using the DK Standard on my solo setup.

I'll probably do something with the Assassination line on my PVP setup too. That one is going to be a bit more difficult imo because too much swapping really messes with the flow I am used to for the sorc in PVP. But I think ditching the pet skill line for Assassin will likely be the right call. Especially since Grim focus is just too good.

I've no idea what I am going to try. I don't start paying attention to new content until it goes live. That way it still feels fresh. I'll play around with several I'm sure.
The guild I run trials with has a few players that are really good at working out builds. I want to figure out a build for my healer on my own but will probably go with their recommendations on the DPS I use for the hard mode group. I'm just going to wing my PvP builds. I have over thirty characters across two accounts so I have will have all kinds of choices to goof off with.

I'm going to start with a necro base and then try and add as many DoT's from other classes as I can. It won't be overpowered; heck, it might be total garbage, but I will finally find a reason to use Grave Lord's Sacrifice if it kills me.

I'm not sure yet, keep going back and forth about what to gain and what to lose. I might not in the end, unsure but it will be fun to experiment. Plan to try on the PTS when I get time. My main is nightblade so possibly one of the arcanist or dragon knight skill lines but it's really hard to decide. I've played the same way for so long now, nice to mix it up but also frightened I'll mess my character up but I guess if I don't like it can revert to how she was.

My Warden main is both pvp and pve:

PVE is a dot dps frost warden, with grave lord (necro) for sacrifice and unnerving boneyard and passives, and herald of the tome (arcanist) for the status effect passive. She uses scribing, too. She's a one-bar build so using oakensoul. This is for soloing.

skill bar: sacrifice, boneyard, chilling soul, chilled explosion, polar wind, northern storm
    companion: zerith (with frost skills)

For PVP healer build: animal companions>warden wings, alliance war>assault>siege shield, winter's embrace>polar wind (to keep myself alive), resto staff>radiating regen, alliance war>support>vigor, templar>restoring light passives, haven't decided on ult since I won't have access to the green warden line anymore (the templar passives are better and I can't lose warden wings)

For PVP dps: (that's a secret)

I am very looking forward to subclassing, as I can finally tweak my builds to my satisfaction, especially access to some coveted passives.

    None.

    Main reasons:
    - My way to play rarely involve fighting.
    - I'm not fan of combat concept in ESO, so I lack the interest for changes related to combat skills.

Aside of that, I'm a - very - slow learner so generally, when I feel comfortable with something, I don't want to start messing up with it.

Gonna try to put frost cloak on my necro tank and maybe that sorc damage shield, if they haven't ruined it yet.
Also looking forward to having streak on my arc as needed, especially for soloing, maybe magma cheese too if it doesn't mess with my damage too much. Portal is just sad.
