This is tangential but related: we may be about to see more plants of Vvardenfell rarity in U46 / Solstice -
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/677218/solstice-treasure-map-leads-and-lootable-rewards-sources-rng-bugs
I for one (as someone who builds and uses landscaping items a lot and detest being nickel-and-dimed crowns for useful ones) am very unhappy about this; I don't feel that it's "rewarding" and don't want to pay $5 (or 50 million gold+) to use 10 mushrooms or whatever. I think there's very few players (maybe including Elder and a few other collectors?) that might be happy?
P.S. Sorry Elder, I don't have these on EU but will keep in mind if that magically happens(I build on NA and mostly sell on EU for getting around the PTS-EU-copy problem somewhat)
Treasure map leads – everyone hates these, but here we are again.
By now I understand I won't be able to unlock some of these to buy for at least 1-2 years, due to two levels of RNG and expensive map prices as a result.
I assume the rationale might've been that these are "trophy" pieces and it makes sense to have only one / a few to display, like "wow look at this treasure I found". But the reality is that housing builders use multiples of these things. So if you have an idea for a cool Argonian stone structure or involving multiple Apocryphal pools or mirrors, or Moons-Blessed Ceremonial Pools... forget it. Hope you're still interested in that idea 2 years later! Or, for the map leads, I guess you can spend tens of millions of gold. The implementation and actual gameplay are at odds: housers are still going to spend a ton of time (and crowns, frankly) in this game regardless; the building is our fun and what takes forever anyway. Making these items inaccessible only sours the whole experience. Often times, I get SO SICK of farming a piece I need that I never go back to that zone/delve/whatever again. Whereas, if I know something has a reasonable drop chance (e.g. Ayleid Sculpture, Grand Tree, Shrine to Dibella, and a few others I use a lot: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Antiquity_Furnishings), I actually do go back to that zone and use a map, loot containers, pick some flowers, etc! Because I know it'll be a rewarding use of my time. I even took alt accounts! (Which is to say: if the goal is to keep us playing, better drop rates on useful items do a better job of it than horrible RNG.)
Anyway, sources:
I've had several pieces of the big Crocodile skeleton drop easily from farming nodes overland; the skull will probably be this zone's Ayelid Tree (no complaints, it's a cool piece). Sadly, I assume the awesome Solstice Bismuth, Large Tower (which is the only one that gives off the scattered light effect) and the Stone-Nest Totems are map leads.
Treasure Maps:
If any of these also drop from another source, LMK!

Another problem, even if you do unlock them: for the past 2 years, some antiquities have been missing from their zone's vendors:

"Rewards" lootables:
Plants, fruits meant to drop from nodes and looting / stealing, according to the patch notes. I've had ZERO drop from nodes, Idk if it's currently not working? I really hope these aren't like some of the Vvardenfell plants which may as well be non-existent. (*cough*) That's very UN-rewarding.

Still better than what they did with the Morrowind Banner imo

If anything, then adjusting the drop rate on a previously bugged item just brings it in line with expected functionality. Hard to see how that qualifies as a mistake, unless the goal was to preserve scarcity for its own sake.

Did they ever admit the drop rate was bugged? I dont think so. The so called rare drops should somewhat be rare as its the purpose if those items. Its not rare anymore if you can get 3 banners in just 30minutes. i dont think that anyone wouldve complained if they made the drop rate the same as for other items like the purple dwarven plans or something.
ElderOfTamriel wrote: »Oh thats some cool information, are you sure the plants drop from overland nodes? Also, just because you couldnt get one to drop, doesnt mean they are extinctively rare. How many hours did you farmed for them?
14 can be earned from pickpocketing citizens across Solstice.
12 furnishings can be found in Algae-Laden Sunport Packs.
11 can be found in the Solstice treasure map chests.
8 can be collected from Alchemy and Clothier resource nodes in Solstice.
2 can be mined from Blacksmithing and Jewelry resource nodes in Solstice.

No, it does not contain achievement items, that is a separate crate. No clue what that "season of the worm cult reward furnishing crate" is. It could also obtain plants you can buy from achievement vendor for example.

Yes, I'm sure. However, I'm not sure I can give any answer that would satisfy you at this point. I'm on PTS a lot, this is a standard crate that PTS testers get (which is the same as other crates with "Reward" items that are drops from other zones), I read the patch notes, and what's what becomes very clear after some experience – in a very similar way to your personal compiled knowledge of rare items.– So, if you don't know what that is and don't trust ZOS's info that's been pasted, I can only encourage you to get on PTS and check it out for yourself. Whether those particular plants in that specific screenshot are not the ones that drop is almost irrelevant. The patch notes say some plants (and other items drop), and none have, for anyone I've heard from thus far. As with many things in this game, it would just be nice to get some clarity from ZOS on whether this is intentional.

i was able to buy it off someone by asking in zone chats for days, they forgot where they got it from. Said from Plunder Skulls years ago but that aint true, im sure.
