Maintenance for the week of November 17:
• [COMPLETE] Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – November 19, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)

What do you think will be in Monday's PTS patch?

I can see some big nerfs coming based on the comments and screenshots from people in the forums saying how overpowered this or that is together. If the devs have been reading, then wooboy, the nerfs are coming.

What nerfs do you think?

I think Assassination line.

Edited title of post.

I believe it will be the source of many complaints, both for what it does and for what it doesn't

Nothing, it is just maintenance. Not patch maintenance. (Or they messed up the banner, but I don't think so.)

Maintenance does not always introduce new patches, sometimes it is about the servers/backups/databases/etc.

The Monday PTS patch where they said a bunch of combat changes are coming for Update 46.

There better be some beefy changes on the PTS this Monday.

They skipped week 3 on the PTS, so i'd imagine a lot of changes. Hopefully most of which will be good, but the issue underlying it is a lack of time AFTER this week's patch notes to make substantial/meaningful changes. We shall see.

Still praying for a longer PTS cycle one day.

i would say lots of skills will be shifted around, a penalty system for passives to keep base classes relevant and curb insane dps and a number of skills will get nerfs and a few will get buffs.

I'm expecting my NBs will get a nerf or ten. :D Otherwise I just want to see the devs giving pure classes some help so they aren't left in a cloud of dust by subclass builds. But I'm not optimistic. I want to be, but I'm not looking forward to these patch notes.

I'd love to see changes that only apply either in PvP/PvE or when subclassed, so changes are specific to the areas of ESO where they need to apply. But I'm expecting a fair few PvP changes to affect my characters in PvE as usual.

Personally I am afraid of so many nerfs that subclassings becomes mandatory to reach at least 100k DPS.

Or in other words, I am afraid of playing monoclass becoming obsolete.

I expect that they set necromancer graveyard skills will scale more with the necromancer skills slotted. This will make it better for necro only players and avoid that people get big buffs while only slotting one necro skill

I‘m expecting nerfs to Nightblade for the sake of subclassing which will destroy the pure Nightblade for good.

I‘m glad my ESO+ is running out and I didn‘t buy the content pass yet. Nightblade is the only class I‘m honestly playing. The others are just for class achievements and farming.
I‘m not interested in multiclassing at all so I will probably quit ESO for quite some time.

They already adjusted nightblade pretty directly last Monday I would be surprised if they do more than what was already done.

My hope is they have come up with a more sustainable way of separating the skill line passives between sub class use and main class.

"Monoclass" means having useless skills or entire trees which you'll never use on your build though. Sometimes you don't even benefit from the passives some particular tree provides. What's the point of holding on to this so-called "class identity" if you can't make your kit work no matter what?

I expect that Grave Lord's Sacrifice will be altered so that it doesn't buff channeled abilities like Fatecarver anymore, and I wouldn't be surprised if Assassination will receive another (small) nerf either.

However, I'm really hoping that the patch will mostly contain buffs and positive adjustments to skill lines that are clearly underperforming compared to the current best options. It would help out pure classes and reduce the large gap between the DPS of the different subclass combinations as well.

I mean it's objective that not using subclassing will be severely gimping your character.

You will have to choose between subclassing / good performance and OG class roleplay plain and simple. No use in worrying about it as it's coming. IMO if it's a change you don't like, you either accept it's coming and adapt OR play something else for a bit until you decide to engage or ZOS changes it again. There's absolutely zero chance they fundamentally change this system with 1-2 weeks of PTS testing left.

    Just reality unfortunately.

The key words in your comment are "on your build". Class skills aren't supposed to be useful for every possible build. Just because your build recognizes zero value in some skills, does not mean that those skills aren't useful in different builds.

Attempting to make every available class skill useful for every build would turn ESO into a Massively Multi Solo-Player Online RPG. The group content would turn into groups of independents with no cohesion because the dependancy nature of group play would be removed from the game.

Maybe some of us enjoy how our pure classes feel and would rather they were made more viable/interesting. Rather than thrown in the trash simply because someone thought subclassing sounded cool. I hate when games don't fix issues and instead throw in some new shiny thing. Then the old problems are just left unfixed.

Classes should be interesting, fun and able to compete whether we have them pure or with one or two skill lines in subclassing.

I’m expecting pure classes to be completely gutted. Players who chose to not participate in a system they didn’t ask for are gonna be forced to subclass just to keep up. Thus, completely destroying ZOS’s motto of “play how you want.”

Of course I hope that doesn’t happen. But unfortunately I think it will.

There will probably be nothing for Werewolf, which is at a severe disadvantage thanks to Subclassing.

I honestly just can’t believe that ZOS is going to completely destroy the viability of playing with pure classes for Subclassing. I can’t wait to read tomorrow’s PTS patch notes, but even they won’t be the end of the work they will be doing to get Subclassing right. I can’t guess how long it’s going to take but I don’t think they will stop until it’s done.

I agree with you in principle, and I'm definitely going to adapt to subclassing.

But I understand why people would be attached to classes after playing some characters up to 11 years!

I will miss the class paradigm and all of the classes I enjoyed learning and playing.

I’m fairly certain all of my builds use skills from every skill line. The only one that’s questionable is the healing line on my warden dps.
