Which Class are you going to Subclass into first?

Subclassing is an upcoming base game feature that allows you to swap some of your Class skill lines for skill lines of other Classes. You can pick up to 1 skill line from any particular Class, and must retain at least 1 skill line from your original Class.

Which of the 7 Classes will you Subclass into first, and which 1 of its 3 skill lines would you take? Which skill line from your own Class would you swap out for it?

Aedric Spear from Templar and Storm Calling from Sorcerer will be extremely useful for Werewolf PvE builds because we get to use most of the Class passives from those skill lines while transformed.

I might swap Restoring Light out for it, which for Werewolf only grants the Master Ritualist passive bonus.

I really want to try out the max amount of pets. So pets of my sorc (2) + pet from the warden (1) + necro or nightblade "pets" (1) and then go into the Infinite Archive where I activate the pet you get there from the memento and then I hope for the pet that comes from one of the visions. Making it six "pets".

And then go in with another player with the same setup and the zoo is complete. 😂

If I play again, I think it'll be no proc since that's the garbage that drove me away, and subclasses will shine more without that nonsense.
Templar has been just shy of greatness for a long time, particularly ranged magplar. I'd probably start there.

    - Green Balance
    - Storm Calling

    vampire/assassin/thief build
    - Animal Companions

I'm so excited for Subclassing 🩷

it'll also be fun to do an all pet build with

No idea actually. My Stamblade is a critical kitty and nearly my entire front bar is Assassination skills in order to get the crit chance I have.

My Sorc is full Shock damage, though I do like ZOS' mention of an Elementalist build. I think I might do a MagSorc/DK.

    - Animal Companions
    - Daedric Summoning
    - Winter's Embrace

Adding Curse on top Scorch plus a nice damage buff for my bear, or Ward along with Polar Wind and maybe some Crystal Slab slapped on top of that... :p And ofc all the pets :D

I'm really into my Werewolf right now also (NB). I like 2 lines for my playstyle, so will need to choose between Storm calling and Aedric Spear. Would you have a recommendation on which is better?

Planning on dropping Siphoning / Healer line for one of the two.

Planning on dropping Siphoning / Healer line for one of the two.

Between the two, I think Aedric Spear is the better choice for long fights, and Storm Calling is the better choice for shorter fights.

    Aedric Spear gives you:
    • Burning Light, a damage proc which scales off your highest offensive stats. It deals Magic Damage and counts as Class damage, so you can proc sets like Overwhelming Surge and proc the Overcharged status effect. This scales with the Bloodthirsty jewelry trait, so it's better for drawn-out fights as it can get more deadly the longer the fight goes on.
    • Balanced Warrior, which increases Weapon Damage and Spell Damage by 6% and Physical and Spell Resistance by 1320. The % increase to WD/SD is useful across all of Werewolf's damaging abilities and also damage proc item sets like Arms of Relequen.

    Storm Calling gives you:
    • Capacitor, a +10% increase to Magicka Recovery. Handy in difficult content when you need to use your heal more often, which is useful for maintaining the uptime of Major Berserk from casting Hircine's Rage at 100% Health.
    • Energized, which increases Physical and Shock Damage by 5%. This affects Piercing Howl and its morphs (Werewolf's main spammable) and it also affects item sets that deal Physical or Shock Damage like Arms of Relequen. Maybe we'll get a Werewolf Scribing ability that can deal Physical or Shock Damage to make more use of this.
    • Amplitude, a sort of "reverse execute" which increases your damage done against a target for every 10% current Health they have. This is better for short fights (like with trash mobs) because they'll spend less time at low Health.

Also, keep in mind that Nightblade's Class Mastery restores 333 Magicka and Stamina if the target's current Health is > 50%, or increases your Critical Chance by 10% for 5 seconds if the target's current Health is <= 50%. This won't be useful until we get a Werewolf Grimoire which can use Class Mastery, though. Neither of Nightblade's Class Sets work in Werewolf form either, so we'll have to wait and see if the third Class Set will.

I like that the game is going to be a little more open like other Elder Scrolls games and less like a classic RPG. Elder Scrolls classes are all just collections of major and minor skills anyway, nothing real "class" about them other than the descriptions for them, especially when you could just create your own class anyway.

Anyways, I'm definitely going to use Winter's Embrace on many of my characters, and for my Khajiiti Templar-turned-Nocturnal Priest I'm probably going to add in the Shadow skill line and maybe daedric summoning or dark magic skill line while keeping the Sun Magic line. He'll truly be a priest of Nocturnal then 😊.

A lot of people are failing to realize something, many of these class skylines were made to synchronize with only each other and not other class skill lines, take an Arcanist for example, Nightblade, Dragonknight, Sorcerer, Warden, Templar and Necromancer skills do not generate crux and without crux many Arcanist skills will be underpowered and if you try to subclass as a Necromancer be warned, you will not beable to use Corpseburster.

You can only use Corpseburster if your base Class is Necromancer. You can proc Corpseburster and corpse consuming abilities/passives with Templar's Repentance skill (Restoring Light) or with Werewolf's Devour synergy.

What I want to know is what happens to the corpse glow when you have Repentance and a Necromancer corpse consuming ability slotted on the same bar. Corpses glow yellow with Repentance, glow blue with Necromancer skills, and glow red while transformed as a Werewolf — with subclassing, we'll see what happens when corpses glow yellow and blue.
