Goldern Pursuit almost exclusively in Cyrodiil?!?!?!?

Ok, I went into Cyrodiil. Was confused about not having any abilities on my bar, confused about the white weapons in inventory (as the one I was wearing seemed to work).

I figured out pretty quick that the siege weapons and potion were infinite use (due to the (1) QTY of each of them, the potion being the real tip off).

Had some reasonable fun. Most fun I ever saw in the zone. Was a bit bummed I could not get any sky shards, but I figured they were disabled for testing.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY liked the fact that classes play like classes and that everyone was equalized. I had chances to escape and stealth to wait out enemies to res friendlies. For the most part I could play cat and mouse and use abiliities. Break free is still giving me trouble, even with a rebound key.

Some classes seem overtuned a bit being able to do some serious damage and take little. Not sure what special sets or combos they are using, but it seemed off.

I did have some low FPS in large battles, but frankly its to be expected. Although I wondered if there was a memory leak as my performance seemed to get worse as the night went on.

I logged out and am going to try a different class. I really like the equalized no gear, no morphs, dev curated balance happening here. I think this is the way.

If the zone can maintain its popularity in this format (keeping players in it) I can see myself going in again.

I have only played since 2017, but this is the PVP that actually feels like it belongs in the Elder Scrolls universe.

EDIT:
I have been PVPing since 2002 when Battlefield 1942 came out. When my group left and went to WOW in 2004, I followed but I was a few months late. Due to them being ahead of me, I had to play solo. So I played Battlegrounds. I spent the vast majority of my time in battlegrounds and took 7 months to grind High Warlord (Emperor is easy mode in comparision).

I spent the better part of 20 years PVPing in WOW, SWTOR, Warhammer Online, GW2, New World and I dabble in ESO Battlegrounds.

I tried Cyrodiil on multiple occasions, never felt excited or had fun doing so. Most of my time there was looking for action. I thought it was going to be like Warhammer but that never materialized.

One of the primary issues my wife and I have is that in order to get into a group, they want comms. We do not have the luxury of being in comms, nor do we care to.

But overall, I simply have never experienced the appeal others have for Cyrodiil.

I have no clue what the Vengence campain is, what it is doing and why they need a stress test.

The rewards here look great to me. It takes me a long time to get AP when I am in a ton of losing BG matches (even though I generally place 1st or 2nd) but stepping foot into Cyrodiil (or Imperial City/Sewers for that matter) is about the most undesirable thing for me in game. I am happy others find enjoyment in it, I can't frankly see how, but to each their own.

The rewards may not be limited time or unique or whatever, but they are super appealing to me. I consider 30k gold in this game a lot. So ya, its a bit disheartening when I was looking forward to the new Golden Pursuit (first thing I did was look at rewards, and yes I was excited) but after scrolling through the requirements, its just a massive turn off for the reasons I listed.

I make this edit for developer feedback.

I believe it's to encourage people to participate in the test, and that is why there is nothing exclusive in the rewards.

Get in there. They're stress testing Cyrodiil. Everyone has an equalized build. Gonna be absolutely chaotic for everyone equally.

This is also true, I just followed the zerg and have half the pursuit done after 10 minutes lol. Won't hurt to hop in there.

    That’s the point.

They want as many people in Cyrodiil as possible. It’s specifically a test for the limits of the Vengeance campaign.

While we know not everyone playing enjoys PvP (yes, PvPers are clearly a minority of the playerbase), it is still a good idea to make sure it gets some time to improve.

It's a little bonus reward for those of us who help with the Vengeance campaign test. I'm looking forward to playing Cyro in a different way and generally embracing the chaos. No pressure, nothing to lose, just a good laugh with guild mates.

I'm more concerned that this campaign seems so popular and the queues so long that I will not get enough time in Cyrodiil to complete Golden Pursuits! Maybe this is just initial excitement and it will calm down. But right now the queues are crazy long for middle of a weekday.

Get in there. You can get it done in like 20 minutes. You have 300 players with you at all times, what do you have to be afraid of in there? Zerg surf and have fun, don't take it serious since everyone is on the same level for this test.

OP, don't stress out yourself, instead, get in there and help us all with the global stress test.

Does it put you into a large group? Or do you still have to ask to join? Generally when I have asked for groups, they expect me to get into discord (I dont use discord).

As I stated in my OP, I actually like the rewards. But I do not like Cyrodiil. I was unaware that this was designed as a stress test. But overall I don't think its good design to push PVE players into PVP. The reverse is not an issue, but being food for some ganker/griefer is never fun.

Wife and I play battlegrounds, sadly we can not play them together due to ESO's design. She gets ganked a LOT by the same people, over and over and over and it really starts to upset her.

When that happens to me, I just stay dead. It is not my goal to be free AP/telvar for some sweaty when I am trying to do goals instead.

I am used to games where the devs currate the PVP gear sets to balance the game. There is absolutely no balance in ESO compared to their contemporaries and in cases where I might be MASSIVELY outnumbered as can happen in Cyrodiil, well its simply not appealing.

There's no need to group up. Just follow the action. There's players everywhere. This isn't like normal cyrodiil where there's only 40 players per faction.

There are no gankers in Vengeance. Everyone has 70k Health and proc sets don't work. No one is getting one-shotted here.

You'll lose it instantly once you get into a zerg. There's no bombs, no gankers, no ball groups, no lag, no stuck in combat bug. Stick with a zerg since the most cohesive one will win.

If you like large scale battles, the current tests are worth checking out.

I just logged off, but while playing I finished the pursuit capstone reward within about 15 mins of playing, and have almost all of them done (even the unneeded ones) except capture 3 towns, just from a few hours of zerg battles.

nearly 600k AP when I exited cyro into a PvE zone too, not bad for just a couple hours of zerging.

I'm replacing my previous clueless post (hey, I was still half asleep and hadn't had my coffee) with this one, which I hope is more useful.

There are 12 activities during this Golden Pursuits campaign, with 8 of them required for the final reward, so you can skip 4 of them and still earn the final reward.

    The activities are as follows:

    - Kill 10 Players in Cyrodiil
    - Kill 50 Players in Cyrodiil
    - Kill 150 Players in Cyrodiil
    - Capture 1 Town in Cyrodiil
    - Capture 3 Towns in Cyrodiil
    - Capture 1 Keep in Cyrodiil
    - Capture 3 Keeps in Cyrodiil
    - Earn 50000 Alliance Points
    - Deal 200000 Damage in Cyrodiil
    - Deal 500000 Damage in Cyrodiil
    - Deal 400000 Damage with Siege Weapons
    - Repair 60000 Damage to Structures in Cyrodiil

And the rewards are as follows:

    - Complete 1 activity = 60K Alliance Points
    - Complete 4 activities = 30K Gold
    - Complete 8 activities = 240K Alliance Points
