Ok, I went into Cyrodiil. Was confused about not having any abilities on my bar, confused about the white weapons in inventory (as the one I was wearing seemed to work).
I figured out pretty quick that the siege weapons and potion were infinite use (due to the (1) QTY of each of them, the potion being the real tip off).
Had some reasonable fun. Most fun I ever saw in the zone. Was a bit bummed I could not get any sky shards, but I figured they were disabled for testing.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY liked the fact that classes play like classes and that everyone was equalized. I had chances to escape and stealth to wait out enemies to res friendlies. For the most part I could play cat and mouse and use abiliities. Break free is still giving me trouble, even with a rebound key.
Some classes seem overtuned a bit being able to do some serious damage and take little. Not sure what special sets or combos they are using, but it seemed off.
I did have some low FPS in large battles, but frankly its to be expected. Although I wondered if there was a memory leak as my performance seemed to get worse as the night went on.
I logged out and am going to try a different class. I really like the equalized no gear, no morphs, dev curated balance happening here. I think this is the way.
If the zone can maintain its popularity in this format (keeping players in it) I can see myself going in again.
I have only played since 2017, but this is the PVP that actually feels like it belongs in the Elder Scrolls universe.

Gonna sit this one out.

EDIT:
I have been PVPing since 2002 when Battlefield 1942 came out. When my group left and went to WOW in 2004, I followed but I was a few months late. Due to them being ahead of me, I had to play solo. So I played Battlegrounds. I spent the vast majority of my time in battlegrounds and took 7 months to grind High Warlord (Emperor is easy mode in comparision).
I spent the better part of 20 years PVPing in WOW, SWTOR, Warhammer Online, GW2, New World and I dabble in ESO Battlegrounds.
I tried Cyrodiil on multiple occasions, never felt excited or had fun doing so. Most of my time there was looking for action. I thought it was going to be like Warhammer but that never materialized.
One of the primary issues my wife and I have is that in order to get into a group, they want comms. We do not have the luxury of being in comms, nor do we care to.
But overall, I simply have never experienced the appeal others have for Cyrodiil.
I have no clue what the Vengence campain is, what it is doing and why they need a stress test.
The rewards here look great to me. It takes me a long time to get AP when I am in a ton of losing BG matches (even though I generally place 1st or 2nd) but stepping foot into Cyrodiil (or Imperial City/Sewers for that matter) is about the most undesirable thing for me in game. I am happy others find enjoyment in it, I can't frankly see how, but to each their own.
The rewards may not be limited time or unique or whatever, but they are super appealing to me. I consider 30k gold in this game a lot. So ya, its a bit disheartening when I was looking forward to the new Golden Pursuit (first thing I did was look at rewards, and yes I was excited) but after scrolling through the requirements, its just a massive turn off for the reasons I listed.
I make this edit for developer feedback.
