Unstoppable - Why does it exist?

I feel like there are a number of sources of Major Resolve which don't have the significant downside of such a heavy snare, for such a long time, which also requires 5 pieces of heavy armor to be slotted. Has this skill just been forgotten? Will it ever receive the overhaul it deserves?

Also, am I the only one who sees the irony in calling this skill "Unstoppable" when it is literally the thing that is maybe not stopping you altogether, but is definitely slowing you down a heck of a lot? If it's going to snare you I think it deserves a new name.

If you want to play a troll tank in PvP, the thing that will kill you while holding out against 15 zerglings is being CCd. Possibly the same in very high arcs, say > 20, of Infinite Archive. Your permanent Magma Shell build that uses a channeled skill - Exhiliarating Drain - to build ultimate, will probably only work if your channel can't be interrupted. The heavy snare is there, because CC immunity is waaaaay OP. So, yes, the skill does make you "unstoppable" and it does have uses.

Okay, thanks for the info! High-level buildcraft is opaque to me, so I guess I just can't conceive of the value on its face. I tried looking for an explanation of why it's useful but couldn't find one.

The Major Resolve is the least important component of the skill, and you can probably remove it, and the skill will still remain useful for the scenarios that it's used for.

The CC immunity has already been discussed, but the Immovable morph adds another very useful component: increased block mitigation, which can be a very strong effect in certain situations.

Overall, the heavy armor skill and its morphs are more situational than the medium or light armor skills. It doesn't make sense most of the time, but in cases where it does, it can really shine.
