P2W? Exactly WHAT can you buy with MONEY that is going to improve your DPS? Or Defenses? Or make your character Unkillable?

There is NOTHING in this game that you can BUY with money that will make your character Dominant over all other characters.

    :#

    Under 50 cyro

Buy the mages guild line to unlock meteor and nuke people with meteor.

    Profit.

Plenty of other examples as well such as when necro was first released it was so ridiculously OP you couldnt compete in pvp without it. Add to it that zos didnt address for numerous patches and then nerfed it into the ground. Similar with the arcanist as well. Yet eso has no p2w elements. Lolz.

This is completely inaccurate and not the case at all.

You cannot buy the Mages Guild skill line for your alts without levelling it to max first – it’s the same for everyone.

The new classes came free with DLC expansions. Expansions are a normal part of every MMO and are not P2W.

Some are so vast, they can rival AAA single player games for content, so everyone accepts that having to pay for this content is perfectly acceptable and part and parcel of the MMO journey.

Yes you Have to level it up first on a single toon (Which is a pain unless you have all the wayshrines and full mount speed) but then having the ability to pay to skip leveling it on a lower level toon to give you an advantage in combat isnt p2w? Lol

Ah yes. Part of an expansion.... That people needed in pvp to get the broken class at the time again to remain competitive. It certainly has a p2w element even if its "free with the chapter expansion" that still costed $50AUD plus to unlock the class.

It doesnt matter if its advertised as "free with X" or part of the MMO journey. if you have to pay cash to give you an advantage in whatever game mode you choose to play, then imo it definitely has a p2w element to it. It may not be as blatant as other MMO's or examples provided, but a spade is a spade.

People don't want to look at WW right now, after doing the event there. I am fed up of the place. I did dailies on multiple characters, every day. I have no wish to go there, currently, beyond getting stuff from the Scholarium.

The game is losing people, but WW is a not a good example. We are getting a lot of leaving messages now. Trials are struggling to fill, dungeon queues are longer. Trying to find people to do pledges, much harder.

If you choose not to pay by subscribing, at lot of the game changes.

If you don't have access to Summerset, you can't use jewellery crafting stations for anything. When I re-subscribed recently, I noticed that you can't start jewellery research until you level up to Jewellery 5. Is that new? I don't recall ever having to level up before training can start. At least you can harvest jewellery mats...

Compare this with the West Weald expansion; players without this expansion can't even farm luminous ink.

Whilst you can obtain companions during subscription times, once you stop, any new characters won't be able to, so at some point casual subscribers need to resubscribe to keep their game play expanding.

I started playing with Summerset, so I think I have that regardless, but I can't see playing without ESO+ especially due to bag/bank space.

You can't post here on taking a break, but I suspect far more are doing that then many acknowledge.

During the High Isle event, Gonfalon Bay was annoying busy in PC NA/EU and XBox NA/EU at any time I played.

I tend to get event fatigue and go hide before New Life, which is a time consuming event. That said, I am still doing XBox NA and EU and Vivec City and Leyawiin have been busy.

ESO is one of those games that over the time, let's say in part, has gotten worse, even considering that everything it is always the same... and that is precisely the problem, probably it lacks obvious innovations.
When i play it i like it, when i log out I forget it, essentially there are many mechanisms that do not work as they should, for the moment (i'd say always) as a game.
It has held up to the weight of the competition, but soon with the release of new MMOs in my opinion (and I'm sorry) it will be forgotten.
Of course keeping a game of 110 giga, with continuous updates of 90 giga, to play it little or nothing.. I don't know, maybe it's time for me to change.
