So, yeah, gimme a Xynode, Ghost, Dooma, Nefas, Artea, Tianlein or anyone else who's not relentlessly negative about a game they still make videos about.

How do you have a Class Rep tag on your account? Didn’t they end that program?

They did not remove the tag. Some players have a custom forum avatar from a different program they were part of. Zenimax did not take away those custom avatars. That is way cooler than keeping the class rep tag.

Was he a Necromancer class rep, based on his profile picture? I was looking through the initial list of reps and didn’t see @Nefas on it and maybe that’s because the class hadn’t come out yet?

Also weird because @Joy_Division was on the list, yet they have neither their Class rep tag or a unique picture.

I do not know what they brought him in for, but Nefas knew everything.

He was a big part of ESO University, which seemed to have died after Nefas stepped back from ESO a bit. He still plays, but probably not as much. He is an amazing mind in the game, but I'm not sure how much he plays now.

Don't really care tbh. I don't really want 99% of the mounts and maybe only use about a dozen different ones anyway.

i stick with my normal brown horse. mounts do not interest me , must have 10's of them.

now... if they bought about a flying mount....

The big question for me is: Should ZOS invest time and talent into creating hundreds of mounts (UESP lists almost 700, and I'm not even sure whether that list is complete), wouldn't it be better to focus on other things? And I don't mean 700 crown store pets now.

I think it's great that we are getting so many mounts earnable in game. Back in 2018 0% of cool mounts were earnable in game. Only 1 from twitch crates with 1% drop rate. And a few from log in rewards, which I consider free crown store mounts, not really earned in game mounts. So that we are getting so many free cool mounts is great, we also have the endeavour system that allows us to buy 1 crown store mount every time we are unfairly banned for playtesting the game or every 1.5 years. So the game has truly come far from what it used to be, as long as you ignore that crown store cosmetics take up a larger proportion of cosmetics every update.

How does it make me feel? Confused: I have 40 mounts, none of which came from the Crown Store.
It's a tradition, or an old charter, or something...

Not really. One of my camels cost 2000 Seals - that's 4 weeks' worth...

sorry I should have specified radiant apex. for a majority of people I think they are really only interested in those mounts because they are the coolest, flashiest and rarest. people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars trying to get them and while yeah, you can earn them with endeavors, you need to spend a majority of the year grinding just to get one. and of course, each crate season is only 3 months. so... if you don't have enough saved your only option is to buy crates and hope you are lucky.

And yes you are right, some mounts are worth less endeavors, however even the apex and legendary mounts can take months to save enough seals for.

so yeah, you can earn all of the mounts from the crates in game, but is it realistic? no.

As someone who has all the trial reward mounts, my only complaint would be that their quality is over-shadowed by the ones you can purchase through the crown store. And some are simply the same mount with a different colour scheme.
I think for mounts that are very hard to acquire, more thought could be put into them. They should be unique and impressive.

The sunspire mount is good, no complaints. It has aged well enough despite there being a similar senche mount that sits in the crown store from time to time.

The rockgrove has no spawn animation, it simply appears, and was quickly overshadowed by numerous heavy mounts with far more particle effects, spawn animations and general impressiveness. I do like it, but it has been dated by reskins and similar but better executed mounts.

The dreadsail mount is just a straight reskin of a flame atro wolf, and came out at the same time as several crown mounts that were zone-related and infinitely more interesting and thoughtful, with floating fish and particle coral effects. It is also the first trial mount to start the trend of not being thematically linked to the zone. This same chapter introduced the ornaug, and it really would've made a lot of sense to make the trial reward an ornaug. I don't hate it, but it feels like a missed opportunity.

The sanity's edge mount came out with the telvanni peninsula chapter, and we could've had a related mount, a guar or a khagouti maybe. Maybe even a new mount in the form of a wamasu, a very prominent and annoying denizen of the trial. Instead it was just a reskin of the crown store ram of dark passion. Rams being very thematic to the region, naturally. It at least has impressive glow, mount and Roar animations.

The lucent citadel mount finally introduced a very unique and different look, with distinct particle effects and unusual physiognomy. And a horse seems fine enough for the west weald. I just wish that the previous two mounts weren't such let-downs in comparison.

A lot of thought and effort by a whole team of players is put into conquering the challenging content zos produces, and it has felt a bit dispiriting at times working hard towards the achievements and then seeing others simply buy something better. Like saving up for your first car, a cheap Toyota, while your neighbour's dad buys him a new lexus.

I will say though that it feels like a lot of the changes zos has made in recent times show they are listening to players about rewards. And since they introduced endeavours things do feel less predatory, and the new zone quest mounts is a nice way to earn mounts.
