I don't care.

I'm not a fan of shops in online games and have frequently commented negatively on ZO's take on them.

But at the end of the day, the vast majority of those mounts aren't anything I'd want to ride.

My current fave is the Necrom collector's edition Apocrypha horse. Wiggly coolness. Not super expensive.

For my elves, the Indriks. Free, though arguably painful attached to the unending events.

And in the bought department, there's the Elk which I bought with money, but also later rolled on a freebie crate.

Plus a small handful I bought with gold for crowns, back when the exchange rate wasn't insane.

I can't see any problem.
You really need only one mount for comfortable game. Any one mount.

Everything else is just a cosmetic. If you're eager to have it - that's your choice, not a thing you're forced to.

Honestly I'm glad that most of the flashing and loud mount effects are behind the paywall. It would be painful for my ears if everybody had and used them.

I don't feel anything but it reminds me of commercials for children during the entire 1990s to I don't know when it ended, if ever. Many of the commercials for toys ended with "COLLECT THEM ALL".

Either way, I've said it a thousand times, most of the stuff in the crown store is ugly asf, radiant apex mounts are universally hideous neon monstrosities, and it boggles my mind that they make money if the cash shop beyond crowns from subs.

The way ZoS run the crown store is fine by me as its so easy to ignore.

This makes me very happy. I hope they add another 5000 mounts to the crown store and make them look awesome and very expensive, so that people who freely choose to buy them can finance further development of the game, without affecting me in any way, since they have no negative impact on my gameplay.

Thr percentage of crown store things rises and that's an indicator for something most probably. The game was way more polished, features were more fleshed out and the writing was infinitely better when crown store was supplementary to the game, not the other way around where the game is kind of helping the crown store to be afloat. Take it as you like.

Indifferent. I don't feel the need to own them all. And it isn't expensive to get a mount that I'm happy with for all my characters.

It's clear they try to make money somehow (to finance the servers and development, + profit, they're not charity, after all, but a business), so there's nothing astonishing about this. At least it's mostly only cosmetics in the store, and it is possible to get a lot of items just through playing the game (especially since they introduced event rewards and later endeavours - it was much less before that).

Number of overly garish and ugly mounts that I have absolutely no interest in owning, much less actually using:

Crown Store: 100%
Gameplay: 0%

Quality > Quantity

I know some people like to complain about how long it takes to earn enough seals of endeavor to get a radiant apex mount, but every time I've looked at them I've just said "Ew, gross" and then spent my seals on a cute hairstyle instead.

So long as there's enough quality content available through gameplay, that's all that really matters. The actual percentages mean nothing.

Just remembered where I have seen her face before. Azura. She's one of those streamers or YouTubers that played ESO that seems to hate the game, Bethesda, and ZoS.

With video titles like "Endeavours and why everybody is angry about group content". A thumbnail of Todd Howard on a video about paid mods captioned "people will buy anything". Declaring the crown store issue gifting the final nail in the coffin from September last year (yet here we are). My personal fave is a video called "When a company is consumed by greed: Zenimax Online Studios", where 9 months later she's still making content about ESO.

So, yeah, gimme a Xynode, Ghost, Dooma, Nefas, Artea, Tianlein or anyone else who's not relentlessly negative about a game they still make videos about.

I think one of each type of mount should be obtainable in the game (aka not clown store, not endeavours) but beyond that, I don't really care that the clownstore is so bloated with trashy or gaudy mounts. The handsy horse is a great example TO ME.

I personally think it is the best example of a real abomination of a mount. Doesn't look like it even should be in Tamriel, just 100000% looks like a cash grab. Again, my opinion.

So if people are wanting to throw their hard earned money at mounts like that, that is their prerogative. As for me, definitely not.

Over two accounts, I've "purchased" two mounts in the crown store throughout the years and one of those was with endeavors (still haven't used the mount). All the rest have been from game-gifted crates or gameplay. Granted, I'm not a hardcore collector (although I do enjoy the felines).

So back to the question. I don't have a problem with it. I don't play the game out of some sense of "look at me and my cool stuff!!!"

They're all cosmetic. What a surprise, people are expected to pay for cosmetics. Next you're gonna tell me that we'll be expected to pay money to be able to play the game as well.

I get there are a lot of "anti-monetization" people out there. But seriously, there are a lot of people who play ESO because of the no sub thing, and going back to an enforced sub would drop the population by a lot.

So... if we did everything that the forums wanted, and the game were free, and the craft bag were free, and all cosmetics were free... what mystical force would be paying to keep the servers running?

This year I got the Wildburn Lynx. Last year didn't bother to get the Nix-ox. Don't want to try trifecta mounts at all.
Taking these as examples of what happens when we ask for more mounts earnable in game, I don't wish anymore for mounts earnable in-game: we have around 500 mounts and tons of achievements - WHY the earnable in game need to be so hard to get?

Anyway, I wish we could get a toggle that let us see all other players' mounts as random classic horses.
I have some flashy mounts, and I like to show them off, but if people is annoyed by that they should be able to turn this hypothetical toggle on - always better than mudballing me.
Also, this would help with immersion and feeling special (same goes for polymorphs)

Edit: I'll add that the Seals price for Radiant Apex (and everything, really) is too high IMHO. We should be able to get 1 Radiant Apex with the Seals earnable during 1 season. Not 1 Radiant plus something in 1 YEAR.

It's up to each person how s/he chooses to spend money (or not) on a game you know.

I have some plain mounts. And I have some CS mounts. I use them all on my girls, no one rides the same one as another girl (except when I'm waiting for the "perfect" one for a girl).

That said, I don't even use them in game much, because I farm on every girl when she's out and the mount/dismount/clear node/treasure chest/whatever/remount cycle is just annoying.

I think it's a good illustration of where rewards could be improved.

I'd like to see it at like 50%. It would be nice if there were at least racial mounts in game. Something beyond the few ponies that are the same in every zone. Mounts, like houses, are some of the most attractive features of the game. Having more of those to work towards guarantees that players play more. Both features are very focused on the crown store.

And no, the Seals system doesn't count. The opportunity cost of buying one thing is pretty high. There's no way you can get more then a few rewards a year. More rewards need to be tied to achievements and in-game currencies.

This isn't a problem. Mounts are cosmetic. It makes no difference to your gameplay if you are riding a unicorn that farts rainbows or a donkey. It's simply an ego thing IMO.

Personally, I'm loving the all black doom wolf with red eyes.

I'd like to see more earnable mounts that are tied to a faction/group.

The only earnable rewards I really care about are:

• Farming Item Sets from Overland, Dungeons, Trials, Arenas, Infinite Archive, Cyrodiil, Imperial City, Battlegrounds, etcetera.
• Obtaining fragments for Skill Styles, such as Roar, Verdant Green.
• Acquiring leads for various Antiquities, especially Mythic items for my builds.
• Completing difficult PvE content or turning in enough PvP daily quests to unlock Skins, Personalities, Body/Face Markings, etcetera.
• Participating in events to unlock rewards with Event Tickets.

There are plenty of "earnable rewards" in-game. I don't need what the Crown Store is offering, but I'll sometimes make an exception when there's something I really like from there.

Don't care. If there was an actual discussion about improving in-game rewards, well ok that might be of interest. I'd hope that would include something other than more mounts. After a few years in eso, I have more mounts than I can even use, and no I didn't spend IRL money on them.
