✭✭✭✭✭There's no update because vanilla is a crap forum backend. The only way it will get fixed is if vanilla fixes it. Since it's a couple years on now, if they could have fixed it they would have. Since they haven't, obviously they haven't a clue how to do so.
Which is why I migrated my own "game friends of many years standing" forum to phpBB3 long long back now. Vanilla sucks - the forum software, NOT the flavoring! (There is NO SUCH THING as too much vanilla flavoring....)______________________________________________________

@ZOS_Kevin , any update on this? It makes navigating into then out of threads really inconvenient, because the web browser's 'back' button just doesn't work like it's supposed to.
