I might just do that. Two of my guild officers have built their DKs to be more like NBs. They're extremely fast. I'm pretty sure @Obscure‌ could show himself escaping zergs over and over using speed, invisibility potions, and intelligent play. Should he choose to that is.

I'm not going to ask him to waste his time on it unless he's feeling it.

There you go again. Try to use class abilities only. Sorcerors have access to invisibility potions, medium armor, bow dodge roll, steed mundus stones and all of the other crap you always bring up as well, you know.

Ya know, this post has shown me that there's probably no point. The above video is just the start of a planned series, most of which will have nothing to do with Bolt Escape.

You response makes clear that whatever I show you/tell you, your response will be: "that's invalid because [insert made up reason]".

So why waste my time with someone who's hard headed and unwilling to learn?

Your video is contrived and does not address reality. You are the one who said that Dark Cloak and Path of Darkness were just as good as Bolt Escape at escaping. This is a class ability to class ability comparison.

Convince me by showing me a NB escaping from zerg situations where they already have the zerg on them by using those abilities and not a ton of other stuff that sorcerors also have access to.

Seems like you're unwilling to learn how to play the game without Bolt Escape.

What we have here, is exactly the same as within the other thread regarding bolt escape op nerf nonses blah.

A rather small group of 5-max 8 players who dare to assume that they represent the majority of players in cyrodiil while ranting for nerfes.

To be fair though, the video wasn't really made for their benefit. Like I've been saying all along, these aren't people who are willing to learn, adapt, test mechanics, ect.

If you aren't willing to learn, a tutorial won't do much for you. It wasn't unexpected that they'd deny evidence in front of their eyes.

Instead we've got a handful of loud players, who don't understand the game very well, and who are reacting in a knee jerk fashion to their frustration at being unable to compete with other players. They've thrown what ever skills on their bar suited them and want to be able to use those same skills to Counter a high mobility build. They're oblivious to the fact that their build isn't designed to counter every other build and think that means no counters exist.

But hey, who cares about 5 bad players whining on a forum anyway?

We've done the best we can for them and at this point its probably best to just ignore them and continue talking to more reasonable people.

Well it's sad but unfortunately you are totally right.

I find it a bit odd that in eso, they removed what is usually a rogue archetype feature (being able to engage and disengage practically at will) then turned around and gave it to sorcerers.

At least it's refreshing to not have rogue types being the target of nerf calls, for the time being anyways

lol I was pondering the same thing the other day. And funny that you don't hear any crying from NBs that cloak breaks on damage.
Something being unbalanced in 1v1 does not imply that it is balanced in group play.

If he did that it would have shown that his counter wasn't a counter. The entire video was scripted to make it seem like Bolt Escape was being countered.

You still haven't showed a hard counter to an escaping BE sorc.
Did you miss the NB using Path of Darkness? Not only does it allow you to catch the sorc but it will also restore your health while you're chasing.

You're looking for a build that wins all, it SHOULD NOT exist. If ZOS allows you to create a build that can beat every other build then they have seriously messed something up.

This is why they "fixed" Elder Vampires Online. And why they're looking into "fixing" Broken Talons. An "I Win" build is bad for the health of the game.

The NB PoD is bugged. It's supposed to increase movement speed by 50% for the duration of the ability(11.4 secs I believe). But only last MAYBE 2 secs, forcing you to spam the ability just to keep up.

It's not bugged. It only gives you the speed boost while you are in the field. The field lasts that long. This seems intentional to me.

Probably just poor wording, like many of the tooltips.

It's actually pretty straight forward if you ask me. The area "strip" laid down by the ability is the area where enemies take damage. Then it says "Paths may only be seen by player and increases movement speed by 50% for the duration."

Which says to me the AoE is the damage and the movement speed is tied to activating the ability.....which is supposed to last 11.5 secs. But, it only lasts for like 2.

EDIT: Not to mention how stupid it would be to have a movement speed increase that only has a 4m affect lol.

Run around on the field, if you maintain the movement speed for more than a few seconds then you'll have the answer as to whether its a tooltip thing or a bugged skill.

Thing is you really can't run around in the field. The "field" only lasts like 4 secs. What would be the point of a movement speed increase ability, that only has a 4 meter range?? Especially when the tooltip leads you to believe otherwise?

Here is a video demonstration of how PoD works. You only have the speed bonus when you are in the field. If you leave the field you lose the bonus. If you re-enter the field you regain the bonus. That indicates that it is not a bug, but an intended mechanic.

You are free to argue against the wisdom of the mechanic, of course. Nonetheless, in order to use it for straight line speed you have to chain cast it every couple of seconds.

The only big problem with Cloak as far as I'm concerned is that DoTs YOU have active on other players will pull you out of the invisibility.

    That should be changed.

I am not a fan of buffing or nerfing any class this soon after release but none of you, not one, have provided a viable solution to combat sorcs in this situation.

Based on posts in this thread they might be OP......... post facts dude.

I like how all debates on these forums eventually break down to "you guys are bad, and we should stop wasting our time on you." The reality is that, while the video does contain some useful information for inexperienced players, the fights are still scripted and are designed in a way to make Bolt Escape seem weak. If you want to convince me, or anyone else, make a video of you defeating Sorcerers in combat situations that are not so heavily biased.

Magicka based DoTs ruin the stealth but the stamina based DoTs like bleeds and poison (from the bow) that I've tested so far don't break the stealth.

    I thought you knew everything?

I don't think it should. That's a pretty basic mechanic of stealth in any MMO. As long as you are doing damage to a player or npc, you can't cloak. What I think should be changed is if you're a NB, dark cloak and shadowy disguise should be an aggro breaker. In that, it would remove any DoT's an enemy player or npc has on them, that the NB applied to them, and immediately put the NB into sneak.....breaking all aggro and allowing the NB to escape. Although, the magicka cost would have to be increased to balance it, IMO.

I think a cool balance to bolt escape would making it require a left mouse click like some AE abilities to "place" the location of the teleport.

It would cut down on the spam issue while making it more usefull to intelligent sorcs as an offensive/defensive utility.
