Emoting In Combat

Can we have it please?

Its really frustrating that I can't taunt people by waving at them or doing jumping jacks off in the distance.

Its really frustrating that you put a /dishonor in the game (as well as a /honor, but come on, right?) and that I can't even use it.

Instead of /dishonor, people have been resorting to tea bagging via crouch....which is worse. /dishonor would be much preferred (and I guess the occasional /honor.)

There's no reason to prevent us from emoting in combat. Maybe you're trying to protect us? You don't need to. If someone is dumb enough to do pushups in the middle of a fight, he deserves to die.

God I would love this. SOOOO many times I've killed someone 1v1 and I can't do the /shovel on their corpse because of not being able to emote while in combat. >:)

I think t-bag movements = "i'm a dumbasz" and this is the only win I'ma capable of... it's the pretend like you been here fore concept IMO.

Tbag = NEwb loser doesnt get enough action and must take every itty bitty chance to flaunt their " my friends just killed you but I was close..." oportunity IMO. T-bag = looser in short, no matter how awesome try to sell it.

I like /thank, /bow, /salute, it is just as flaunting but far more dignified a win taunt IMO. It means I won, and you have to run back, but hey I appreciate the challenge, carry on.

I always /thank when it's a good fight. If it's just some idiot I mowed down why would I want to waste time on them... but t-baggers like to give idiots or unfortunates their time. Why would you give people you don't respect any time.. it has always boggled me. If you give them anything they have stolen your glory....

..|.. my glory is mine and I knowledge you when you are worthy of attention, not just because I ran across you at an unfortunate time for yourself... Maybe I'm getting old again lol. Allthough I intentionally do not revive on teabaggers when I know my friends are close... *** who laughs last n shet...

No thanks. You can say what you like, but most players only want emotes in PvP to try and offend or annoy whoever they are fighting. The fact that people are tea bagging is proof of this. That does bring up a question though... Can you use PvE trophies in PvP?

What a lot of ppl on this forum seem to not understand about pvp is, building animosity between players and factions/alliances makes pvp great! Being able to talk to your enemy is great for this as well. Yes, some ppl will be trolled or offended, and the ppl that go overboard with it should be punished. BUT, having basic things like talking to your enemy and emotes in combat help build up the loyalties to factions/alliances.

This was a BIG thing in SWG. The general discussion forum for each server was full of what is known as "forum pvp". This built up allegiance to either the rebel faction or imperial. Made PvP a LOT more interesting when either you, by yourself, or your friends/guild/faction were taking on a person/guild/faction that talked a big game. If you took them out, you or your friends/guild/faction would take to the forums and post about it. The best pvp is the kind that bring realish emotions to the playing field.

Not if those emotions are negative. My experience with emotes has always been people using it when, frankly, they have no right to do so. For example, if someone killed you in an awesome 5v1 1v1 and then starts laughing at you, as if they did something of value. I guess I just miss the days when you could PvP while also having respect for your opponent.

But tea bagging isn't an emote.

Allowing us to properly emote might actually cut down on the Tea Bagging.

Only to replace it with stuff thats almost as annoying. Tea bagging is quite rare, but if we add emotes, it'll be happening every 2 seconds. People will set up laugh macros and spam them in combat, just like they do in most other PvP games that allow this rubbish.

The only way I'd ever be okay with this is if they added cosmetics to players who are at a certain PvP rank. For example, if you kill someone, you could have a ghost of yourself bow to them. It won't offend anyone, but I admit, it might be a pretty cool thing to see.

Yes we need this. Every time I fell a bash spammer/vamp/Bolt spammer in combat I try to /dishonor, but it doesnt work. :( I usually just resort to shooting their corpse or jumping on them, but its just not the same! I dont tbag though, im not even entirely sure if argonians can if they are anything like real life reptiles.
I wrote a poem that I titled, "The ganker's delight."

As you lay upon the ground, cry not little pawn.
The pain will pass as quickly as my blade did take you,
but my delight will last and you will respawn.
My heart simply cannot contain my joy, when I ply my trade.

The fault lies with you, your skill was lacking.
Now your salt is mine forever, can't you hear the laughing?
Once you were so proud and now you are reduced to this.
    A miserable, loud deuced fool.

With every tear you drip, with every excuse you let slip.
All of your insecurities and worries bring a smile to my lip.
From your despair I have ripped endless glories,
but our affair is over now. Be afraid for I will return for more.

I have received many titles, to my allies I am The sniper Emperor and Grand champion hero of the Pact. However these titles mean little to me, it is the ones given to me by my victims that I prefer. To them I am "Xv1er", "trash", "no balls", "zerger", "noob", "cringe", "no skill", "camper", "100% new", "the reason this game is dying", "pathetic", "a sack of piece of [snip]", "mediocre", "absolute inbred", "beyond a virgin", "ganky dork", "fat smelly 40yr old virgin", "little girl", "daddy", "exploiting loser", and every [snipped] word known to man.

I didn't even realize emotes were disabled in combat. Obviously, I don't try to use them in PvP, but I would still like them to be available. If someone wants to perform an insulting emote over me after his group of 10 kills me, that's fine. I now I have a reason to hunt that person down and kill them as often as possible. It can also be helpful when you're not trying to kill someone. For instance, I recently saw a video where a VR player interrupted a fight between a level 12 player from one enemy alliance and a VR player from the other enemy alliance. He killed the VR player, then tried to let the other one go, but they weren't having it. A simply /wave might have gotten the point across, but instead he ended up killing the lowby, too.

The only real downside I can see is that some emotes might be confusing. For instance, /playdead. I mean, it would be incredibly situational to confuse someone with this, but it could happen. Hm, now that I think about it though, I'd actually like it if enemies had the option of trying to confuse me through emotes. Hell, even just the scenes that would be possible would add a new layer of fun to PvP. Imagine coming up on a group of enemies who are all doing jumping jacks or accidently walking into an enemy in an NPC town who's sitting in a chair. Yeah, why shouldn't we have emotes in PvP again?

I've seen enemy players do a /playdead in Cyrodiil before. It keeps the HP bar above their head making it very easy to tell the difference.

I've also seen gank groups have one person stay out of stealth and do emotes like /dance or /jumpingjacks to try and lure people over.
