I agree with this. It would greatly improve outfit options if those ridiculous flaps could be hidden. Currently there are only a few chest pieces without the annoying flap.

    They're fine.

You know why they float? Because of body sliders. They don't want clipping with maxed below waist proportions.

Most of my gals are thicc and they look just fine on her.

Maybe as new items they could make a few sets without that stuff but I'd rather they not waste the time to get rid of it all for a minority of people.

Fun fact, I wore tabards in wow because NOT having those flaps on most armors looked bad. Wow started putting the dangly bits in on belts.

    they really aren't fine.

they clip through a lot of leg styles, nearly all robes, and i've even seen them clip through some chests like Balfieran Sentinel.

and for a lot of loincloths it would look way better as a skirt on the corresponding leg style like House Dufort Banneret, which has cloth stuck to the sides of the legs.

plus they don't actually hang when your character sits down.

I find the hip flaps worse, but being able to hide all of them would be fantastic, and is indeed something we have asked so, so many times over the years.

It makes me wonder what character's would look like if they removed the hip flaps. Because when equipping DW weapons, sometimes they hover far out away from the hips- that without hip flaps- they would look even worse. I've had to make some of my characters have WIDE hips, just to bring them into contact with the DW weapons so it didn't look so awful having weapons flopping around about five to six inches (or more) away from your body.

But on topic... I agree we need more 'hide' options. Even FFXIV gives the option of hiding every piece of armor. Hiding shoulders was a great step forward, now we just need more options.

Ffxiv hiding armor is glamouring over invisible pieces.

Wow let's you hide all but pants.

I wouldn't take anything from ffxiv though, that game is where all the hormone filled teenagers are. People spend millions over there on adult activity RP for crying out loud. Not sure I want them getting ideas from there.

At least we can't shove 100 people in a single room apartment.

And if the flaps hung when you say people would kvetch about the clipping. This community will never be happy.

From my observation, the single handed weapons sheathed anchor points seem to be statically set to "match" the width of base game hip flaps.

At some point with DLC armors ZoS started doing bulkier everything, and in result flaps also got more spaced out and they clip badly with all of those newer sets.

I really like the flaps; there are so many clothes without them, and usually I want them. But I could understand how people would never want them, especially when some of the animated ones float to the insides of the clothes.

That stuff should be attached to the belt.
Then they could have a with/without option on the belt alone.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

To my chagrin I discovered rather late the so called belt slot is only buckles and the actual belts are part of the chest model.

Very strange and unfortunate as the flaps are also bound to the chests and not legs, a curious design that maybe makes flaps, loin-cloths etc unhideable?

I think so. The option to add all this to the chest may have been something that was "irrevocable" ten years ago. And now, baked in for a decade, it's likely not changeable at all. Unfortunate.

Fortunately some chests do not have hip-flaps or loin-cloths. This is a good compromise as one can choose.
However belts are still only buckles, unfortunately.

    I agree. Just Hide it.
As a matter of fact, just hide the whole chest piece...
    ... and the legs...
    .... and the hands...
    and the waist....
    Leave the feet

id still like to know why they say the game engine cant handle cloaks but a lot of crotch flaps are just mini cloaks on a different part of your character. Makes zero sense to me. but ya, they should give the option to hide them.

The crotch flap was designed by male designers to enhance male anatomy.
We don't need it on female characters, and my male characters don't need it either.
I absolutely avoid all outfit designs with crotch flaps.
Propriety demands I do not give my own personal name for them, but if you think about fake tank, fake dps, fake healer... you get fake male anatomy.

    Rant done.

Just do it. For years I have worn the same Assassins League style outfit because using Legate Black the crotch thing is unnoticable and the hip things are practically invisible behind the knives on my hips.

I hate the crotch flaps and hips flaps and outsize shoulders thing so much I have found very few outfits that are suitable.

That means I do not buy anything out of crown store.

Well, it was indeed a bizarre rant.
"to enhance male anatomy" I'm not really seeing that myself.

    But...

you did remind that we should campaign to replace 'Belts/Sashes' with CODPIECES. These are LUMPS, not FLAPS. Still, they are lore-friendly. Friendlier than flaps. Really, who wants crotch flaps which you can has groin lumps instead?

I have now reached a point where its becoming difficult not to descend into innuendo.

Thank you. I was.... restraining myself.... because all the innuendo I could have posted would have likely got me shut down forever more....
