Eh, people can make the same arguments about leads being in things like Tales of Tribute. Just because it's in content that you don't traditionally like doing, doesn't mean that it's unobtainable.

It’s not a single player TES title, its an MMO so it’s logical that you would have to group to participate in the most difficult content. I can’t believe we’re still discussing this almost 10 years after launch.

Trying to get the Velothi lead in Scrivener’s Hall, on normal, but have never seen this dungeon listed in GF the last months. Doing the first boss is impossible for me even with pale order, citrus filet, perfected false god and healing pets for my bolting sorc, on normal. Usually get lost trying to find the spell books in the shelves; books which are not very visible. So, please don’t put leads in difficult dungeons which almost nobody is playing.

Any advice for doing nSH solo?

Upgrade your build. False Gods has not been good since the new champion point system came out and you could invest in Magika Syphon which basically gives you the same 5 piece bonus of False Gods. You should go with Seargants Mail and Storm Master, 1 piece Valkyn Skoria or Slime Craw, and the Oakensoul Ring. Very strong damage and good heals.

My husband really enjoyed the antiquity system. But he doesn't like dungeons. He doesn't do trials. So he never gets leads and has kinda given up. And even if he does join us for a trial or dungeon a go, the lead drops are not guaranteed...

It sucks that you are forced to do content you have no interest in, over and over again, in order to have a tiny chance of being able to do something that you actually want to do.

I mean, its a self-imposed limitation to be perfectly honest. If you don't like certain content, you shouldn't be forced to play it, but then you also need to understand and accept that you don't get to reap the rewards then either. For instance, I hate battlegrounds, but if there is a set that I want/need from there, I either have to hold my nose and play it, or go without. It just is what it is.

Yeah this one was challenging. And so was the other one where you had to fight all those secret bosses and then get the group to stay together to fight the last last last secret boss.

That sucked and thank God I won't have to repeat any of that content.

How do you derive the game to be soloable in it's entirety from the phrase "Skyrim with friends"?

I have shortened it too much, I guess. But I can remember a few streams (usually the ESO chapter reveal, or sometimes even the general Microsoft/XBox stream where new titles of the year are announced) where they shortly explained it as being playable just like a singleplayer TES games with optionally involving friends. Of course it's marketing speech (and no, they're not getting into details during these streams, it's advertisement, after all) to fish from a certain demographic - those who like TES, but don't really care for multiplayer games. It's not surprising if people who start playing ESO because of that are disappointed as soon as they notice that for some aspects, "friends" to play with aren't that optional.

ESO isn't just another Elder Scrolls game. It's the Elder Scrolls MMO. An MMORPG to be specific. Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. The acronym says it all. Cooperation with other players, character growth and progression, challenging group content and competitive gameplay are all part of the package.

Nope it just means a lot of folks can play together....the acronym doesn't say jack about grouping or being "Challenged" Which is just a Dog Whistle for gated content.

I think it’s pretty rare for people to be looking in group finder for dungeons. Have you tried queuing for it in the dungeon finder instead?

None of this is hidden, no one was tricked into thinking this was Skyrim 2. Most players are here specifically because of these features and there is a vast amount of solo-able content for those who aren't. I know some players want ESO to be solo-able in it's entirety but it's not that type of game is will never be that type of game and has never been advertised as that type of game.

That's exactly what it says. It very clearly implies that players will be playing different cooperative roles in order to progress. Damage Dealer, Healer, Tank. RPG. Role. Playing. Game. Words mean things. This is ancient.

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's dungeon related.

not really comparable as you don't have to win a Tribute match to get rewards.

you have to defeat mostly final dungeon bosses for leads.
not all dungeons are as easy to everyone as they are to some people.

1- People are playing the hard DLC dungeons. Myself included, as they are my favorite content. I dislike misleading titles like this as they give a false impression and can have unintended consequences. Your issue is with leads dropping in content you don't want to do, which is different than having an issue with the dungeons. Saying no one is playing them is untrue.

2- Despite your strategy for making your point, I agree with the sentiment that RNG drops like leads shouldn't be behind significantly time consuming content as the only option. Whether it's fishing or lockboxes or dungeons, there's a difference between encouraging people to try the content and expecting them to spend hours upon hours doing something they despise to obtain a lead that's relevant for content they love. I never got to try Thrassian Stranglers when they were relevant because I never got one of the fishing leads. I was unlucky with it and I just didn't have time to fish and fish and fish and fish and fish...

So, yea. It's frustrating and I think all leads should drop from two content types, so folks can at least switch things up. But picking on the DLC dungeons is silly, as this is not the only content that's painful to farm if that RNG lead drop doesn't go your way. As I personally enjoy DLC dungeons way more than fishing, I would want more leads to be put in the dungeons and less fishing! So your proposed solution isn't great, since it is biased against people who like the dungeons. I think my idea is better. ;)

And now they have the leads in the Infininte Archive, which I think is great.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

    Good points, @peacenote
I empathize with having to repeat something lengthy again and again for a lead and would be glad to see Filer Ool’s weekly selection expanded!
I also enjoy DLC dungeons and love Scrivener’s Hall and queue for it often. Rarely is the wait long when the Dungeon Finder is working!

I queue for Scrivener’s Hall to get Mora's furnishing materials, also the only place to get the glass eyes.

If you happen to have a surplus of Crown Mimic Stones you can also craft a bunch of gear using a motif from there and then decon the gear to get Glass Eyes back. [/quote
I queue for Scrivener’s Hall to get Mora's furnishing materials, also the only place to get the glass eyes. It doesn't take that long and I don't play during prime time. It's a pretty hard dungeon. I admit more than a few times I load in and somebody bails. Or they get to first boss and wipes till people start to leave. The last time I was with my daughter, she burned down the first boss mostly by herself. I play a healer and was able to keep her alive.

The people we were with were so clueless they didn't even go after the little guys with the keys.

I love SH... I tank it about 75% of the time. The other 25% I DPS and pray the tank knows the mechanics and as soon as i see the Tank not stand in the Poison AOE I immediately try and explain he needs to absorb it... If he cannot survive, I swap to tank and then back to DPS lol... Unless the Tank leaves. It is a very heavy Tank Mechanic Dungeon. Just like getting the Spider to the Ice. You cannot survive his enraged hit.

Yeah with a good tank, it's fun. There's a lot of variety and it goes pretty fast. But pugging is a crap shoot, especially for the tank role.
