@Elvenheart haha I am sure there are people who WOULD like it. Butterflies, the pink and purple colours. Would look pretty cool. I personally would be satisfied with having such a thing as a skill line, however.
Struggling to find a new class to call home. Please send help.

Loss for all player that actualy wanted a class and paid money because of it. Now that zos as advertised a new class switching it would be a huge disrespect to these people.

Making it skill line is worst for those who actually wanted to play an arcanist as ignoring other class skill/passive to play as an arcanist would only make our character weaker than one who mix skill line. This would also cause problem with certain tral leader, for exemple if they bring a necro they may expect you it to bring major vulnerability or they may want to choose a warden healer for minor toughness. This will cause problem

So making it a skill line will worsen the experiance of those wha wanted a class, of those who preordered the chapter because a new class was advertise.

New skill line would be nice but shouldnt come at the expence of a wanted and annouced feature.

I feel like I already replied to this comment or ones similar but.... its not making anything "worse" nor is it a disrespect to any players wanting the class as the class still exist, its just inclusive as a guild skill line. That's literally the only difference. If you've played the game for a good while you should easily understand that you don't have to use your class passives or skills. You can slot what ever.

Same thing the arcanist would be in the guild section, the 3 skill lines would be under it. Pick what you want, actually, this would be very rewarding for those tha thanked the class as now they get something of a spell crafting or what zos called class crafting. If someone doesn't like one of the arcanist skills they can swap it out as easily as dawnbreaker for berserker strike. A win win. Especially since zos already said they can't and won't do class change tokens. Since this skill line system already exist it provides an avenue for all players to have what they are looking and paying for.

Hi Everyone! Thanks for all of your feedback and questions. We are still working through reading these on top of PTS comments. However, to clean up the pinned threads a bit, we are going to move this thread to news section of the forum. However, we have our one-stop shop still pinned both the general section and most recent section for easy access to these threads. Thanks all.

Why not 21? Three of each class, one for each role, it's so obvious.

Because you can use the Armory to reroll a character : if you have one character of each class and then one Armory build for each role this works the same.

Excited for new slots as an rp person, but I really want class change tokens tbh. Sometimes a new class comes along that fits an existing character more than what I gave them originally, but recreating them is not just tedious but we often grow attached to characters we've had for a long time. It's not so simple as, "well just create a new one!" What if I want one of my favorite toons to be an arcanist?

I have the same issue with my fave alt: I've actually made him years ago in TESV as a follower of Hermaeus Mora, where his backstory was that he was a healer during the Three Banners War then disappeared for centuries wandering Apocrypha, gathering knowledge then re-emerging on Nirn when Dragons had returned to Skyrim, as he had experience fighting them in Elsweyr during the Second Era.

You see my predicament here: my only option right now is to either miss out on RP'ing as an Apocryphan Acolyte or to remake him from scratch, having to redo all the quests that I've already painstakingly pulled him through.
Don't get me wrong btw: some of the quests in ESO are beautifully written and some zones have a great narrative, but doing them again on another character feels a bit off.

I only level up skill lines I know that will be part of my build.
I don't have Undaunted or Mages guild maxed on any of my characters.

It's not just about the skills, it's about the bond you as a player have with a certain character, about the relationship that said character has with the world.
For instance: Krin, my main, has already met some characters you meet in Necrom (they mentioned Naryu and Ashur) so it would be another experience/dialogue for him than a new character fresh off the boat. Also, he's met Hermaeus Mora before (in Greenshade, Reaper's March, and Bangkorai) while a new character whose powers stem specifically from Apocrypha, hasn't (though I imagine the Arcanist would have other dialogue with Mora).

It's not about the skills, or the points, or whatever, it's about the history and the roleplaying.

Well, okay. Same issue as with potions, probably. At least I think no one is swallowing them including their bottle - I hope. Then again, in TES3 Morrowind, raw glass was an alchemy ingredient and could be eaten :D Dwemer metal too, by the way.

I remember the first time I finally found raw ebony and I got so excited I accidentally ate it - which, come to think of it, was not entirely out of character for the toon I was playing as at the time…
The amount of players who specifically want to roleplay "hermaeus mora cultist tentacle mage" is probably pretty damn low. In fact, I dare say that not many new players will not be looking to the game and chapter for the sake of "look it has a hermaeus mora class!"
While I do agree that it's strange to have a class be this specific, I actually AM looking forward to roleplaying as a Hermaeus Mora cultist tentacle mage, thank you very much… as I've stated before in this thread, story-wise this fits one of my characters like a glove. I'm feeling kind of sad that I'll have to remake him and lose all the story progress (and skills, because some people simply don't have the time to power level a character in a week because of family and/or work) so a class change token or the implementation of this class as separate World or Guild skill lines would've been nice, but the former is probably not coming and the latter would actually be unfair to people expecting a new class.

It's just that, lore-wise, it would make more sense to me for my experienced mage seeking ancient knowledge to actually receive the boon of Hermaeus Mora than for a fresh-off-the-boat newbie to be accepted into their fold.
