Mixed Motivations

I would have preferred it had acquisition of the Druid Tribute deck not been tied into the main Galen quest. I wanted to play the Druid deck as soon as possible, whereas I would rather have taken my time with the quest, absorbing the details of the story, ideally when there were not dozens of other players doing the same quest at the same time. Just my opinion to add to the stew.

I agree, and it's unfortunate because you get a much more full end-of-quest party if you do all the side quests first.

Instead, maybe Braigh (the druid master player) could have had a little quest before you could challenge him, which would unlock the deck.

I also agree. I don't like anything "external" being related to the questline because that's the piece I like to take my time with.

Same reason I don't like the dungeons being part of the main story. I like to do the dungeons right away.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Not a problem for me since I have only done the leadin quest with 2 characters (the second to shut up the stupid barker in Alinor - only to remember that it is so SLOW to do even that). I have no desire to get good, just to have the option to use the Blade of Woe on that barker near the riding trainer. Fortunately, I only have a single character still learning riding.

I cringe thinking of the day one of the "normal" endeavors are playing/winning the card game.

Though killing addons for now is turning me off and I may even start skipping those.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding.

How would that be any different from endeavors to do a Battleground or place 7 Furnishings or do a Trial? Not everyone participates in PvP or Housing or Trials either. ToT is no different in that respect.

Yeah, I don't understand why so many players have so much negativity toward the card game. If they don't want to play it, that's their business. But it's like they can't even tolerate that it exists in the game at all.

That's how I felt about the first batch as well, some are tied to quests. I chose not to get those decks until I feel like questing in High Isle.

It turned out that you get the deck before fully completing the quest, which made it somewhat better. I could relax through the final sections and enjoy them (even if deep fried more than once). Well designed quest (and I like the deck).

I have no problem with that, though the main issue here is not Tales of Tribute, but making one part of the game, i.e. a major quest, dependent on another, unrelated part of the game.
