I'm really sorry to hear that. It would be good to take a break from it for a while. If you ever decide to go back, let us know what you're working with and maybe some of us can help. But if not that's understandable, a game is not worth your health. At the end of the day, being good or bad at VVH doesn't mean much about your skill as a PvPers anyway.

To be frank, im able to finish vet Malestorm. And with the same toon I am utterly unable to finish nVH - thats just frustrating.

I mainly quest and do PvE as a healer, because I am autistic and find more "challenging" stuff in this game to be frankly: way to hard. Damage dealing somethimes feels like a job and I like that healing is no braining.

PvP is another topic that I shouldnt indulge, because I know my opinions arent valued here - but I play as a gank nb because I utterly despise cheesestacking DK and Templars.

If you've beat VMA, you'll likely beat this when you're less frustrated, should you ever return. Were you closing the pools, by chance?

Okay, if you don't want to improve your "gamer" skills, why did you enter a solo arena? If you have no desire to improve those skills, and do not wish to do anything challenging, it's not like you need the equipment from Vateshran.

I suggest going to overland, where the monsters couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

If, after some consideration, you do want to improve and kill the queen, can you tell us a bit about what class you're playing, your preference towards stam or mag, melee or ranged abilities etc. and I'm sure lots of people can offer some advice on how to survive and get past her.

And please also tell us what order you did the arena in so far - what colour did you go to first (out of red, green and blue)?

Not OP but I'll be frank, alot of people want that Void Pitch dye because its the darkest black color in the game. I can understand skillgating for the best gear and respect those who have it, but skillgating fashion is painful to say the least

By its very nature, a dye is a form of trophy. Being able to show off that you have accomplished a task. It's almost more of a trophy than a skin, since many parts of skins awarded for even harder content are hidden by costumes and gear styles.

So, yeah, perfectly legitimate to reward players with unique things for completing challenging content. Your desire to have some fashionable accessory doesn't negate a skilled players desire to be rewarded for completing that content.

Never said it was illegitimate, just painful if you aint good. Basic goth fashion rules dictates you must use the darkest black possible in some form if not entirely. It would be a far different story if it was say a third iteration of hunter green but in metallic. Black is one of the few colors that's hard to screw up and goes with almost everything.

i mean this is a bad start to any argument if im being honest

anyway, vateshran (and vma) are intended to be a sort of "ultimate challenge" for solo players. if you don't want to be challenged...maybe don't play the content specifically designed to be challenging?

Sound to me you’re on Vet. If you think she is hard just wait for the final boss. That took me upward of 20 attempts.

You might want to get it done soon as well because the new patch is gonna make that encounter twice as hard.

lesigh. I really wanted to get stuff (hard stuff for me) done before I wind up just crafting and doing housing after this lands -- but this summer is not being really kind to me.

I'm - not very happy. Love the game, don't love what the devs are doing to me.

There really are some very quality videos on VH on youtube, as I’m sure you know. They helped most of us.

Triple check you are not on veteran, it is in your social settings if I recall correctly (not in the game atm) and easy to overlook.

Check to make sure your CP are applied, blue was deactivated. Stuff like the ones that give health back on damage, mag/stam back on kills etc make the arenas a different ballgame. Farm up oakensoul.

By the fact that you are going after a weapon for your main activity, you know how important building is. Build for sustain and survivability, and respect and respond to every mechanic.

If you’ve cleared vMA then you know all these things, but just reminders. It took me weeks to get my first vMA clear, vVH first day, and his was before most of the power creep - so I have to think nVH you have to be getting snagged on mechanics. I mean I’m pushing 50 and am a long way from gifted, old and slow. If I can clear this stuff anyone can, given determination

Solo players who like a challenge have exactly two activities in this game, the two arenas, Overland is a pushover and everything else PVE that has any bite is group content, so nerfing them as well would be kinda awful in my view.

Compared to poison flowers RNG, Vateshran is not frustrating. It’s just learning the mechanics and how to deal with them. I found it rewarding.

When I tried MA I did not read any guides, just jumped in. It was boringly easy waste of time slog for first half dozen stages, then I got stuck in RNG poison and decided that kind of content was not of interest for me. Maybe I should try Vateshran some year.

I haven't completed Vateshran's Hollows, but I got furthest with a Dark Elven stamina character. So he was a bit more resistant to the scamps and could follow the order of the Wounding, Brimstone Den, then Hunter's Grotto to get the stamina and health buffs.

I still couldn't defeat the final boss, but maybe you can if you're better at controlling your character's movement speed.

Op, if you can do vet Maelstrom, then Vateshran Hollows normal shouldnt be an issue.

Have you looked at any of the guides, on how to do the bosses? That may be more of an issue.

It's a dilemma between survivability and raw dps. High dps often let's you bypass mechanics or at least shorten the time you have to deal with them. The faster you can clear the islands on the final boss the less time she has to regenerate and the less time you have to fight on the mainland before the next island opens. If she's low enough on health you can even ignore the circle closing in as it will go poof when she reaches the health threshold for opening the next island.

Okay I tried the sugestions, adjusted the build, did the route and what can I say:
I wasnt even able to finish the first arena.....

So please @ZOS let us buy the progress for the nightmares that are the Arenas.

Are you on console? I've share-played a Maelstrom run for a person who couldn't beat it. If you don't have willing friends, you could even offer in game gold. Also, NB shade and Sorc streak help you dodge a mechanic on the last boss.

Good Luck, and I hope you get your weapon and preferred trait on the first one!

I'm also surprised. I first went into normal vateshran last year completely cold, and only really had issues on the last boss because she has a couple of mechanics I hadn't seen before.

I do not think that it is some thing you can not pass - if you focus on problems and tell us why it is hard for you may be we can tell some ideas that can help.

The same time each next arena is harder than arena before - so different order of pass can make the hardest arena for you more easy.

It was made because depending on arenas you pass order you can try to find secret buffs on next arenas - that make your HP and resources much bigger. it helps to pass next arenas - so if you can not pass with out it it can help you a lot.

I’m at tank and never cared to do high dps. I completed Maelstrom full achievements as DK werewolf. I also completed Vat full achievements with sub par dps full achievements. The only thing that gave me lots of trouble was the ring of death on the last boss of Vat because my dps sucks so I just used the armor ult every time to survive the blast. I’m over 50. If I can do it anyone can.

As someone who completed normal VH right after it was launched, and being more casual play orientated, I can say that it's not that difficult, if you follow a guide and try to undestand what you have to do there.

There is an optimal order in which you enter those portals, depending on your build (magicka or stamina dps), and the arena is easier if you gather the motes (those glowing balls which give you extra resources).

Also, make use of powerups, and learn when its best to use them during fights. If you think the nixad is hard, you haven't reached the last boss. The last boss is a recap of the entire arena in one fight. It's a very intense fight. And that on normal.

BUT... it's not that hard. It will take a few runs to get "acquainted" with each boss.

However, pve solo arenas are not something to play if you want a laid back relaxed gaming experience. If you want that, do quests, fishing, housing. Also, do not jump into an arena if you haven't sorted out your gear, food buffs and potions. Because all of these matter when you are attempting an arena. There are guides on youtube with builds and fighting each boss on each class combination. Start from there. It's not that hard. I would say it's medium difficulty. Probably the most annoying boss is the minotaur. I am telling all this as a semi-casual player (I rarely do veteran content).
